New 'Star Trek' Villain Calls His 'Starfleet Academy' Character "Problematic"
While there's still no word on when Star Trek's newest series, Starfleet Academy, will make its anticipated premiere on Paramount+, newcomer Paul Giamatti recently teased his "problematic" villain character that will surely cause chaos for the new recruits. Set in the 32nd century, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy follows the first new class of cadets in over a century as they come of age and train to be officers.
Speaking with The Playlist about his appearance in Black Mirror Season 7, the subject of Starfleet Academy came up. While Giamatti wasn't able to divulge a lot of information about his new character, he did tease that he was a "bad guy," while at the same time noting that he had an amazing experience filming the new series:
