The showrunners behind the Cruel Intentions reboot detail their plans for season 2. Debuting on Prime Video in November, and taking inspiration from the popular 1999 film starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, the new version focuses on the step-siblings Caroline Merteuil and Lucien Belmont who will do just about anything to maintain their status at Manchester University, including seducing the Vice President's daughter. The cast of the Cruel Intentions reboot includes Sarah Catherine Hook, Zac Burgess, Savannah Lee Smith, Sara Silva, John Harlan Kim, Khobe Clarke, Brooke Lena Johnson, and Sean Patrick Thomas.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunners and executive producers Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman address the possibility of the Prime Video drama coming back for season 2. While the showrunning duo makes it clear that they don't yet know whether the series will be renewed, they do have an idea about where the story could go next and it's related to the school year.
