Several actors from the popular “Mamma Mia!” film franchise have hinted that a third installment could be in the works. In a recent interview, actress Amanda Seyfried said she is enthusiastic about the prospect of revisiting her role as Sophie in Mamma Mia! 3. Seyfried, who starred in the first two films based on the jukebox musical featuring Abba songs, said “Everybody says it’s gonna happen.”

The possibility of young pop star Sabrina Carpenter joining the cast as Seyfried’s daughter was also discussed. Carpenter drew attention when she sang Abba’s “Mamma Mia” during her recent Madison Square Garden concert. Though initially hesitant, Seyfried admitted that age differences could be overlooked, as has happened in previous films. She said she would be open to taking on an older appearance through makeup so Carpenter could play her daughter.

Rumors of a third film have gained traction from comments made by other cast members as well.
