Before he was a Kryptonian, and even before he was a werewolf, Tyler Hoechlin was almost a vampire. The Superman & Lois star was offered a role in the first Twilight film, but turned it down to play baseball for Uc Irvine. Hoechlin discussed the near-miss casting with Michael Rosenbaum in a candid Clark Kent-Lex Luthor chat on Rosenbaum's podcast, Inside of You.
At the time, Twilight was a success on the bestseller charts, but nobody knew what a cultural phenomenon it would become. Hoechlin auditioned for the lead role of Edward Cullen; it was eventually won by Robert Pattinson, but Hoechlin was instead offered the role of Emmett Cullen, Edward's adopted vampire brother. However, to accept it, he would have to miss the first four weeks of the baseball season. After consultation with family and friends, he called director Catherine Hardwicke personally, letting her know that he was turning the role down.

If there's one thing teen fantasy shows have proven is that, even when you're dead, you can always come back. Teen Wolf has had a series of shocking deaths throughout its run, but, more often than not, it allowed characters to come back.
The iconic MTV fantasy show Teen Wolf premiered in 2011 and ran for six seasons until 2017. The cast and crew reunited for 2023's Paramount+ continuation, Teen Wolf: The Movie, but it also came with a shocking death of fan-favorite character Derek Hale, played by Tyler Hoechlin. During an interview with Screen Rant, Hoechlin revealed whether he'd ever return to reprise his role in the Teen Wolf franchise and gave an enthusiastic answer despite his character's fate.

Superman Actor Tyler Hoechlin Debuted in a 22-Year-Old Comic Book Movie That's Coming to Prime Video

Superman & Lois star Tyler Hoechlin's debut acting role will soon be available to watch on Prime Video. Road to Perdition, the 2002 film adapted from the DC Comics of the same name, is a crime drama with an all-star cast.
Tom Hanks stars as Michael Sullivan in Road to Perdition, with Hoechlin playing the role of his son, Michael Sullivan Jr. The film is set in 1931 during the Great Depression, as a mob enforcer and his son get vengeance against another mobster who murdered the rest of their family. Hanks' character works for the Irish mob boss John Rooney (played by Paul Newman in his final live-action theatrical film role). Rooney raised Sullivan Sr. as his own child after he was orphaned, causing Rooney's own biological son Connor (Daniel Craig) to be jealous of the bond the two share.

Tyler Hoechlin's time as Superman comes to an end in December, and while Superman & Lois might be ending, the actor could still continue working with DC in another franchise. Hoechlin has solidified himself as one of the best live-action versions of Superman. The actor first played Clark Kent in Melissa Benoist's Supergirl series. After that, Hoechlin appeared in multiple Arrowverse crossover events and episodes before getting to lead Superman & Lois.
The show confirmed that Hoechlin is perfect as both Clark Kent and Superman, delivering emotional performances full of the hero's signature charm. However, Superman & Lois season 4 will be the show's last, with David Corenswet's Superman movie putting forward a new direction for the hero in live-action. While Hoechlin will not be able to play Superman again in the new DC Universe, the actor could join the franchise in a different role. Hoechlin teased his DC dream roles before,...

Superman & Lois season 4 brings the story to a close, reuniting the show's core cast members for one last story about the Man of Steel and his steadfast reporting ally. The ending of Superman & Lois season 3 promised a massive storyline for its successor, as one half of the titular duo was left fighting off Doomsday while the other was reckoning with Lex Luthor's arrival at Smallville. As of the ending of Superman & Lois season 4's premiere, the Kent family is left in the aftermath, setting up a big story for the coming conclusion.

Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, will end after its upcoming fourth season, allowing the show to have a proper closure. The series has been well-received by fans and critics, standing out from previous Arrowverse productions and establishing its own rules and canon. In the first two seasons of Teen Wolf, Scott and Allison seemed to be the endgame couple of the series, however, after their season 2 breakup, the pair never got back together, before seemingly losing their chance at rekindling forever due to Allison's death. Although Teen Wolf: The Movie defied the odds and brought the power couple back together, questions still remain as to why they didn't reunite earlier. Scott and Allison could have reconciled during Teen Wolf, but did not for reasons both story-based and concerning the real-life actors.

The revival film saw the return of many actors from the original series, including Adams and Tyler Hoechlin as Derek, but it was arguably more notable for the mixed response that it garnered with the fanbase. The choice to kill off Derek late in the third act sparked a lot of discussion about the purpose of the project and whether important characters were being discarded in order to set up a potential spinoff.

In the midst of portraying Superman in Superman & Lois, Tyler Hoechlin delighted audiences with a return to his roots in Teen Wolf: The Movie, and returned to the franchise with a new level of expertise under his belt. Hoechlin's Derek Hale went out in a blaze of glory, ultimately sacrificing himself to save his son, and while the moment was sad, it was a strong end to a beloved character. The end of Derek Hale also marks the end of an era, as Hoechlin had been attached to the character since the Teen Wolf series started airing in 2011.
Of course, Hoechlin's return to the world of Teen Wolf was informed by the roles he has taken since the series began, most notably his turns as Superman both in the Arrowverse and the series Superman & Lois. Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie.Teen Wolf: The Movie ends with Derek Hale's death, which while perhaps unexpected and certainly heartbreaking, is necessary. While it was somewhat predictable that a character would die in Teen Wolf: The Movie, many viewers did not expect Derek to die out of all the characters. This perhaps has to do with the fact that he was around for most of the seasons of Teen Wolf and faced many of the villains that threatened Beacon Hills. In fact, it is the Hale family, arguably more than anybody else in Teen Wolf, that has the strongest and oldest connection to the supernatural world in Beacon Hills.
Therefore, Derek has always been a key character in Teen Wolf, always fighting alongside Scott's pack, even when he appeared to be his enemy in the first season of the show, as proven by...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie. The stars of Teen Wolf are pushing hard for a spinoff, and it's not what you'd expect. Teen Wolf: The Movie recently revived the MTV franchise, which had been dormant since the supernatural drama series ended in 2017. The movie offers the chance to catch up with Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his friends, allowing for some adjustments to some of the show's controversial storylines. But on the other hand, the follow-up film also provided some new developments that garnered sharply divided responses.

Although the imminent fear of a new threat lurks around Beacon Hills in Teen Wolf: The Movie, many beloved primary characters from the original series come together for a highly anticipated reunion. After making only a few brief appearances since Teen Wolf's season 4, Tyler Hoechlin's Derek Hall, too, joins the movie's roster, and this time as a father figure to a young werewolf named Eli.
Unfortunately, what seems to be the beginning of a new arc for Derek Hale ends a little too soon on a devastating note. In a high-stakes battle against Teen Wolf: The Movie's overarching villain, the Nogitsune, Derek sacrifices his life to save the day.

Teen Wolf: The Movie's weird lacrosse scene is much deeper and more self-aware than it initially seems. Taking its action back to Beacon Hills, the Teen Wolf movie marks the return of many primary characters from the original TV show. While it brings a few new narrative elements to the table, it also offers many moments of pure nostalgia and fan service to those familiar with the parent series. However, in all of its callbacks to the main Teen Wolf series, there is one scene, in particular, that stands out: Scott's return to Beacon High's lacrosse field.

Creator Jeff Davis is teasing a possible sequel to Teen Wolf: The Movie starring Derek's son, Eli. A continuation of the popular MTV series, Teen Wolf, the supernatural drama premiered on Paramount+ on January 26. It follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as he travels back to Beacon Hills to assist Chris Argent (Jr Bourne) in carrying out a ritual that would seemingly allow Allison's (Crystal Reed) soul to cross over. However, complications arise when Allison gets brought back to life, along with the Nogitsune, who begins manipulating her. While there was excitement over seeing a number of characters return in Teen Wolf: The Movie, it was a surprise to learn that Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) had a child, and that he played a significant role throughout.
Portrayed by Vince Mattis, Eli spends a majority of the Teen Wolf movie avigating his relationship with Derek and struggles with the idea of being a werewolf.

Films like Teen Wolf: The Movie, have their day. In mine we had the original Teen Wolf with Michael J. Fox and I enjoyed it equally with all its obvious lackings. It works for its audience and knows how to please its viewers, having done so generation after generation in MTV and in its speciality MTV is a master with plots that are especially thought out for segments of people in their twenties and with just enough complexity to not stand apart.

Arden Cho, who played Kira on the MTV series Teen Wolf but does not appear in the new sequel film, took to social media on the day of the movie’s Paramount+ release to give an update on her mind-set.
After a Twitter user posted Thursday that he was thinking of Cho that day because it was “probably a bit of a rough time for her,” the actress replied to seemingly assure fans she had no regrets about skipping director Russell Mulcahy’s Teen Wolf: The Movie, although she did not specifically mention the project by name.
“Don’t worry babies,” she tweeted. “Thanks for your support. Looking forward to better in 2023! Don’t be scared to walk away or turn down an opportunity if you know it’s not fair and it won’t make you happy! You deserve better. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Love you all,...

This article contains spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie.
It must be a full moon again, because Teen Wolf is back following a six year absence from our screens. The franchise is in a new phase of its life now though. Gone are the 45 minute(ish) episodes airing on MTV. In their place is a brand new feature-length movie that’s found a new home on Paramount+.
That’s not all that’s changed either. Six years have passed in real-time, but for everyone who lives in Beacon Hills, it’s actually been fifteen years since everything that went down in the sixth and final season. It’s an adjustment, for sure, and not just for fans watching back home.
“‘Where the hell is Scott McCall 15 years later?'” That’s the question Tyler Posey had to ask upon returning to his most recognisable role. “I was a little nervous.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Teen Wolf: The Movie
Teen Wolf: The Movie features a huge character death, but it wasn't originally going to be part of the script. The film, which premiered on Paramount+, featured the return of many popular characters from the MTV series Teen Wolf, including Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, and Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale. Derek was one of the series' main characters, appearing in 63 episodes between 2011 and 2017. Teen Wolf: The Movie features many familiar characters as well as some new faces and unexpected cameos as the McCall pack re-assembles to fight a newly-emerged threat. MTV's Teen Wolf TV series is loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name starring Michael J. Fox, which introduced audiences to the titular character, Scott McCall. Over time, the Teen Wolf TV series garnered critical acclaim which helped grow its loyal fan base which was why its abrupt ending in the shortened Teen Wolf season 6 was a big shock. In the years since, however, Scott has apparently reassembled his pack and now they're returning to Beacon Hills to tackle a new mystery.
Despite MTV's cancelation of Teen Wolf in 2017, its popularity endured. Paramount recognized this, resulting in signing Jeff Davis to spearhead the expansion of the franchise on Paramount+.

This Teen Wolf: The Movie review contains no spoilers.
Riddle me this: Is a Teen Wolf still a Teen Wolf when he becomes a full-grown “Man Wolf”?
That’s essentially the premise of Teen Wolf‘s comeback movie which brings Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall back on our screens for the first time since 2017.
Now in his mid-thirties, our not-so-Teen Wolf is still the Alpha, but Beacon Hills is no longer the place it once was. Fifteen years or so have passed since everyone last walked off together dramatically on the long-running MTV series. Jumping ahead to 2026, Scott’s pack has now been scattered by the years and circumstance — as well as real-life issues offscreen too.
That’s right. A lot of your faves are back, including some faces you might not be expecting, but there are a couple of key players missing, and the film does suffer a bit for it.

As he makes his own way back to Beacon Hills, Tyler Posey reflects on Dylan O'Brien's absence from Teen Wolf: The Movie and expresses his hopes to reunite with his former co-star. Posey led the cast of the MTV series as Scott McCall, a California high school sophomore whose life is upended when he is bit by an alpha wrewolf, transforming him into the titular creature, putting him on a path to protecting his hometown from a whole host of supernatural threats with the help of best friend Stiles and natural-born werewolf Derek Hale. Posey and Tyler Hoechlin are reprising their roles for Paramount+'s Teen Wolf: The Movie, in which Scott will have to gather his team of allies to face off against one of their deadliest allies, as well as the return of one major face.

Plot: A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it, a terrifying evil emerges. The wolves are howling again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a werewolf like Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can gather new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.

In its heyday, Teen Wolf was massively popular and one of MTV's few successful scripted dramas, which led to the series getting its very own film continuation in Teen Wolf: The Movie. Based very loosely on the 80s movie of the same name, Teen Wolf managed to find lightning in a bottle with its charming and charismatic young cast, who brought to life the increasingly ludicrous supernatural world of Beacon Hills with tremendous heart. Now, the former teens are reuniting as adults and, along with creator Jeff Davis, seeing if they can replicate that same spirit. Teen Wolf: The Movie tries to capture the magic of the original show, but though many original cast members returned, it falls short of the mark.

Paramount+ sent Teen Wolf fans into a frenzy when it was announced that a Teen Wolf movie would be coming to the streaming service in early 2023, with many of Beacon Hills' most beloved residents coming back. Included in the cast list is Tyler Hoechlin, who played Derek Hale in the original series and acted as Scott McCall's mentor and alpha for much of the show.
The movie will show a new softer side to Derek that fans didn't get to see the first time since he was concerned with his family's past and running from werewolf hunters, but the trademark Hale snark is sure to make an appearance. Derek's demeanor has made him one of the more memeable characters on the show since he is stubborn but also has a dry sense of humor that isn't always caught on the first watch of the show.

When Teen Wolf returns for the upcoming Paramount+ film, some things change — “Scott McCall has a buzzed head!” Tyler Posey excitedly exclaimed to TV Insider of his werewolf — while others do not (the cast is still a family and feels the love from fans).
