- Gwendoline Christie è nata il 28 ottobre 1978. Luogo di nascita: Inghilterra, Regno Unito. È conosciuta come attrice e produttrice. È celebre per aver partecipato a Star Wars - Gli ultimi Jedi (2017), Il trono di spade (2011) e Star Wars - Il risveglio della Forza (2015).
- Towering height
- After finding out that HBO didn't put her name forward for an Emmy Award consideration (for her role of Brienne in Il trono di spade (2011)), she did it herself and received a nomination in the category "Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series". She explained that she did it for the character and what she feels she represents.
- Several inches taller than towering leading ladies like Uma Thurman and Sigourney Weaver, she is one of a small handful of professional actresses with a successful film & TV career who stands over 6 feet tall. Another is fellow Brit Janet McTeer, who is 6' 1" (1,86 m), and Australian Elizabeth Debicki, who is 6' 2¾" (1,9 m).
- A lifelong fan of Madonna, while filming S2 of Top of the Lake - Il mistero del lago (2013) in Australia, Gwendoline received an invitation text from Madonna's manager Guy Oseary to attend the final leg of her 2016 "Rebel Heart Tour" in Sydney. Not only did she attend, but she was invited onstage to perform alongside her idol.
- Weirdest fan encounter occurred in a restaurant when she visited the ladies' room. No sooner was she seated on the 'throne' when a woman's hand reached in under the cubicle door with a phone and a vocal request for a selfie.
- Romantically involved with longtime partner and fashion designer Giles Deacon.
- I don't really have any interest in playing the same part again and again. Let's just keep everything crossed that doesn't happen.
- I don't know, so much of women's femininity is tied up with their hair.
- As a woman, we all want to feel attractive. We all want to feel that we're making the very best of ourselves so we can accept ourselves.
- Part of the reason why I love acting is that you do hope that somehow your work will connect to people and somehow expand their consciousness somewhat, and being able to challenge notions of prejudice through work - through my work - is really thrilling.
- Genuine and true love is so rare that when you encounter it in any form, it's a wonderful thing, to be utterly cherished in whatever form it takes.
