On August 8, 1993, she walked across the street and was hit by a police motorcycle. She injured her pelvis, punctured her lung, and lost her left lower leg (below the knee). She is helping others who have lost their arms and legs so that they can enjoy life again.

After the end of her divorce battle against Paul McCartney, she stated that she was awarded £23 million, plus payments of £38,000 per annum, and nanny and school costs for their daughter Beatrice (17 March 2008).

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 35, a daughter Beatrice Milly MCartney on October 28, 2003. Child's father is her now ex-2nd husband, Paul McCartney.

Born to John Mills, a former British paratrooper, who changed his name to Mark to avoid confusion with actor John Mills, and his wife Beatrice Mary Finlay, India-born daughter of a British colonel. Her mother left the family when she was nine years old to live with Charles Stapley. Her father abused his children until he was arrested when Heather was 13 and the children were sent to live with their mother. Her father later had another child, Claire, while her mother died in 1989.

Met Paul McCartney at the Daily Star Awards ceremony in 1999, a year since his first wife, Linda McCartney, had died. They didn't get a chance to talk. However, Paul was touched by Heather's speech and contacted her. Paul McCartney was invited by Heather Mills to her 32th birthday in 2000. In March of 2000, they announced that they were a couple after months of secrecy. In July of 2001, Paul proposed to her, they married in 2002, had a daughter in 2003, and separated in 2006.
