Doctor Who - Series 1 - Christopher Eccleston
My thoughts and ratings on Series 1 of Doctor Who.
Season 1 is surprisingly... mostly good. The season never has any bad episodes, but there's definitely a few episodes that I'm okay with never rewatching. With that said, the good vastly outweighs the bad. I love Eccleston. He may only have one season, but he stands as a really strong Doctor. Rose has a few issues, but mostly she's good. Most of the side characters were strong. Overall, Season 1 is just a fun introduction to the show. I still have a bit of a problem with the "Bad Wolf" plot - mainly that it makes no sense - but other than that, this is a good season of television. - 7/10

Everything from the awful VFX, nonsensical comedic bits, and just enough lore from the classic series is here to show you what to expect from the show. I still really like Eccleston. Even if he is one of the more forgettable doctors, he feels the most like the ancient alien that he is.
The main plot here is stupid. Plastic people being taken down by “anti-plastic”. It’s hilariously dumb. The plastic Mickey section gets me everytime. Where the episode lacks in plot, it still acts as a good introduction to the show though, so I still it enjoy it enough. While not completely bad, it's mostly just boring. I like the Rose character moments, the "tree person" character has some neat moments with the Doctor, and the "End of the World" plot is somewhat interesting at first.
My issues mainly derive from Casandra. I've never liked her. She's just a strange antagonist that's unfortunately reoccurring and her backstory could be a lot more interesting than it is. Bro I simply do not CARE. This episode had the potential to be interesting, but it's just one big snoozefest. - 5/10
For the beginning of a two-parter, this episode really just doesn’t have enough to warrant its runtime. The mystery behind the Slitheen is neat and there is a pretty good buildup, but then there’s an entire scene where the aliens are farting… so that’s unepic. - 6/10
This was unnecessary as a two-parter. I think the threat of the Slitheen’s could have been more interesting, but when you drag it on over the course of almost 2 hours - it’s just too much. The character drama is fairly interesting, especially between Rose and her mother. Micky gets clowned on too much for some odd reason, but that’s a problem with the show as a whole. Overall, it’s not bad, but it’s not that great either. - 6/10

We’re finally getting things set up for the season (and the future). I love the (re)introduction to the dalek. This is just a solid episode. - 8/10
This is a fun episode. I'm not a fan of the dumb guy they take a long as a companion, but I did end up enjoying what happens to him. Simon Pegg is another fun addition. Nothing amazing, but a solid episode anyways. - 7/10
Probably my favorite episode of the show up to this point. Still not amazing, but there's some great character moments for Rose. The decision to include an alien monster that correlates with time travel is stupid though. - 8/10
Wow. Uh... it's finally some GOOD Doctor Who.
Season 1 has been a bit of a slog to get through. I remembered this season being a lot better than it really is. With that said, this two-parter is fantastic. It's just a really good STORY. Things are built up properly in this half and... The monsters have a purpose and are pretty horrifying. The side characters all have a purpose and have their own unique story beats. Captain Jack is a great addition to the cast. It's just great. - 9/10
This episode is okay. It's a good follow up to the Slitheen episodes from earlier (both of which where fine). I liked moments of this episode more than the whole of it. Nothing bad, but could've been better. - 7/10
The two part season finale starts with a bang! I'll always love the game show parody plot device. Every main character has some great moments here. That ending is absolutely fantastic and leads into a pretty banging finale. - 10/10

Great finale! While there's a lot of really quirky decisions here (Deus Ex Rose), there's too many great scenes and character moments for me to call it bad. - 9/10
