Ricky Gervais returns as his infamous “The Office” character David Brent in the upcoming Netflix mockumentary, “David Brent: Life on the Road,” to do what he does best: entertain.

Written, directed and starring Gervais, the film follows the former paper salesman as he tries to go on a self-funded tour with his band Foregone Conclusion. On the road is where he really comes alive and now a camera crew will catch up with Brent as he makes his dreams come true of becoming a rock star.

The trailer features many cringe-worthy scenes, painful humor and incidents where he puts the band in uncomfortable situations, including hitting a woman with a t-shirt gun.

“You think it’s painful to watch? I have to stand next to him,” says Dom Johnson (Ben Bailey Smith), the rapper in the band.

“Forget it, Jake. It’s Water & Power” is probably never said aloud in the Sundance-bound documentary “Water & Power: A California Heist,” but that doesn’t mean you should dismiss Marina Zenovich’s film outright. Deadline reports that Chiklis will appear as The Bald Man, the organisation's point man.

Rupture is based on a story from Steven Shainberg and Brian Nelson, with Nelson behind the screenplay and Shainberg directing.

American Sniper's Andrew Lazar will produce the project.

Well, here's one piece of news that's sure to disappoint plenty of die-hard fans of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey.

In a new interview with Variety, director Sam Taylor-Johnson reveals that one of the more infamous sex scenes in the book -- in which Christian Grey pulls a tampon out of Anastasia Steele's body -- is not featured in the final film.

“It didn’t make it into the movie,” Taylor-Johnson says. “It was never even discussed."

Recent days have seen some intriguing accusations being about the way Marvel is currently handling some of its characters – specifically, the properties licensed to Fox to make movies from, namely the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

The rumours break down into two main issues.

The first, a piece of gossip originally broken by Bleeding Cool, suggests that Marvel is deliberately reducing the visibility of the Fantastic Four characters, and will soon cancel both of its Fantastic Four comics until after the release of Fox's 2015 movie so as not to give its partners and competitors at Fox any help with publicity.

The second issue is industry veteran Rob Liefeld suggesting that the relationship between Marvel and Fox is so strained that Marvel won't allow the production of movie-licensed X-Men products.

When Buffalo Screams expanded and re-branded as the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, we knew they had big ambitions. With a whopping 85 films on their slate for 2013, we'd say they're well on their way!

Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival has announced an ambitious slate of 85 films which will screen between Friday, November 8th, and Thursday, November 14th, at the Dipson Amherst Theatre in Buffalo, New York.

Several distinguished genre filmmakers are scheduled to attend:

- Lloyd Kaufman, who will receive the Dedication to Filmmaking Excellence Award, is screening Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. 1, billed as a Sneak Preview, as a fundraiser for the Niagara Arts & Culture Center (Nacc) in Niagara Falls;

- Roy Frumkes will screen Animosity, which he executive produced for writer-director Brendan Steere; and

- Brett Kelly will screen the horror comedy musical My Fair Zombie.

All told the movies of summer 2013 would have to get an A … for Average. Well, or maybe a B, for Blah. There were a few high points ("Iron Man Three," "The Conjuring," "This Is the End"), a few low points ("The Lone Ranger," "After Earth," "R.I.P.D."), and a whole mess that landed somewhere in-between.

What seemed to really come in abundance, though, in movies of varying degrees of quality, were head-scratching plot points, the things that made you go, "Hmmm … that was f**king stupid."

Yes, they're movies, Stop Picking Apart The Plots And Just Enjoy Yourself, we know. But they've been building up all summer, just simmering inside of us, and if we don't get these off our chest soon we're going to explode like we were named Krypton. It'd be messy, and no one would want to clean that up.

So here are our picks...

Fresh from burning the prom in Carrie and donning Hit Girl's mask again for Kick-Ass 2, Chloe Moretz's next role may be a less physically punishing affair. She's in talks to join the cast of Olivier Assayas' drama Sils Maria. A shocking video shows a scared boy, believed to be about three years old, restrained by his mother as he is forced to get a tattoo on his arm. The boy cries and struggles to break free, but continues to be inked by the needle.

A disturbing new YouTube video captured the shocking moment when a woman took her toddler son to a tattoo parlor to get a tattoo! As the boy screams out in pain, his mom keeps him restrained — and loud hardcore dance music is played in the background.

Although the mother and boy have not been identified, the infant is believed to be around three years old, and they are thought to be in Cuba. She clutches him close to her chest and at one point says “mire, mire,” which means “look, look” in Spanish.

A Washington man is accused of tying up his infant daughter and shooting her 36 times with a pellet gun. He is being held on suspicion of second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Stetson Tedder, 26, was arrested after he allegedly tied up his daughter, 4, and shot her repeatedly with a Bb gun as punishment. The toddler’s grandmother alerted police when she noticed red marks all over her body.

The grandmother initially thought the red marks were chicken pox, but the girl later told her grandmother and a child interview specialist that she was punished for waking her stepdad up early.

The girl said he tied her wrists and ankles together with plastic zip ties and then shot her.

Back at the beginning of July in the daily Briefs, I started the Official snicks Top 100 Lost Hits of The 80's, spotlighting the 100 greatest minor hits of that decade. The songs you don't hear on any 80's nostalgia show. Songs that missed the top ten, or top twenty ... or top forty, and over the last five months I hope some of these forgotten gems may have rung a long dormant bell, or for younger readers, provided a pop music history lesson.
