Following the passing of original Berserk creator Kentaro Miura, new story supervisor Kouji Mori has revealed his honest thoughts on his duty to continue the beloved series in the years to come.

Berserk fans once again came to terms with the series' future following Kouji Mori's bittersweet afterword in Volume 42, now officially translated into English with Dark Horse Comics' release on March 18, 2025. Mori and Studio Gaga, the studio that Miura set up for him and his assistants, have been responsible for continuing the series. Via Reddit, Mori's afterword says, "Thank you very much for picking up Berserk Volume 42. From here on, it will be Berserk without Miura. Naturally, it's going to be imperfect. I'm sure there are those who will find that hard to accept. I myself feel that same way."

French anime enthusiast and blogger Catsuka recently reported on a new international release for The Artwork of Berserk -- a lengthy volume featuring illustrations created over the course of the manga's 30+ year serialization. "The Artwork of Berserk is available to buy online, at an affordable price." Catsuka wrote. CDJapan, an international "proxy" of Chart-Art Online, has started accepting pre-orders for the book. Not including tax or shipping, the base price is approximately 3,850 yen (US$23.77). Due to the relative obscurity of the volume, Japanese resellers typically offer it at much higher prices. The site will begin shipping out orders starting July 31, 2025.

Hakusensha’s Young Animal Magazine revealed on Jan 24, 2025 that Kentaro Miura’s Berserk manga will finally publish a new chapter after 3 months.

Berserk‘s chapter 379 is set to come out in the fourth issue of Young Animal magazine on Feb 14, 2025. It will be getting a front page color-lead in the issue.

The preview for the fourth issue also teased a major announcement for the manga.

Bandai's S.H. Figuarts series is closing out 2024 with a special treat for Berserk fans. Recently, the iconic collectible company released a brand-new action figure of Isidro, the boy warrior and thief who teams up with main protagonist Guts as his young protégé.

As detailed on Tamashii Web, Isidro's creation was "thoroughly supervised" by Studio Gaga, the manga production studio founded by Berserk creator, Kentaro Miura. Released on Dec. 28, 2024, the figure is fully-jointed in the arms, legs and feet, allowing it to be posed in various ways. Additionally, the collectible comes with a wide variety of extra accessories -- including tiny models of Puck and Ivalera, the two elvish pixies that also travel with Guts' group. Berserk is arguably one of the most important works of Seinen manga in history, having released its first chapter in 1989. Chapter 364, titled "Teardrop of Morning Dew," was the last chapter that creator Kentaro Miura penned before his death in 2021. If things had ended there, it would have been one of the biggest cliffhangers in all manga, and possibly all of fiction, dropping a massive tease for what was to come.

For a time, fans were willing to accept Chapter 364 as Berserk's canon ending. While it would have meant leaving several unanswered questions, the chapter had at least tied up the narrative's main themes. It also would have given the main cast something close to a happy ending. However, once the manga did eventually return, all the unanswered questions became open for discussion and speculation again.

Coolness is one of the most mysterious and attractive traits in anime. Few characters have it, and the ones that do make people flock to them easily. There are many ways a character can be cool, and they don't have to be fighting for the good side either. Studio Gaga and Hakusensha, who control the intellectual property of Berserk, had recently issued a legal notice to another fan project, Studio Eclypse, prompting Studio Taka to reevaluate their own work.

Studio Taka had been adapting Berserk as a motion comic series on YouTube.
