The fourth movie directed by Get Out Oscar winner Jordan Peele will hit theaters on October 23, 2026 via Universal, the studio said Monday.

The movie was originally set for a December 2024 release but was pushed due to the strike.

As is standard, all is kept secret on this production.

“I do feel like my next project is clear to me,” Peele told Conan O’Brien on the latter’s podcast in January, “and I’m psyched that I have another film that could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”

Peele’s three genre films — Get Out, Us and Nope — have collectively grossed $683 million at the worldwide box office.

From his beginnings in Australia to his current status as one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the world, Jim Jefferies has come a long way. He’s built a loyal fan base over the years through his no-holds-barred comedic style that often tackles taboos such as racism, sexism, and politics. In addition to his stand-up specials, Jefferies also hosts a weekly podcast, The Jim Jefferies Show, and has had small roles in various films and television shows.

In his latest Netflix comedy special titled Intolerant, Jefferies takes on some of the most pressing issues of our times head on.

Jim Jefferies is back on Netflix next month with his fifth stand-up special for the streamer, “High N’ Dry.” The special premieres globally on Netflix on February 14, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The stand-up follows previous specials “Jim Jefferies: Bare” (2014), “Jim Jefferies: Freedumb” (2016), “Jim Jefferies: This Is Me Now” (2018) and “Jim Jefferies: Intolerant” (2020). Scott Zabielski directed the new special.

“High N’ Dry” is actually Jefferies’ tenth TV standup special all together, which goes back to “Contraband” in 2008. According to the logline, “In the special, newly married and loving life with his wife and kids, Jefferies sounds off on the laziness of koala bears, the injustices of male pattern baldness and the reason why he’ll never drink again.”

Jefferies, Tim Sarkes, Alex Murray, Brian Volk-Weiss and Cisco Henson are executive producers of “High N’ Dry.”

Jefferies is currently on the road for his 2023 “Give’em What They Want Tour.

NBC has picked up a pair of comedy pilots for the 2020-2021 season.

The first is the multi-cam “Jefferies,” which will star Australian comedian Jim Jefferies as a fictionalized version of himself. Jefferies will also write and executive produce along with Suzanne Martin. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills will also executive produce along with Tim Sarkes and Alex Murray of Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Universal Television, where Hazy Mills and Martin are under overall deals, will produce.

Jefferies most recently hosted “The Jim Jefferies Show” for Comedy Central, which ran for three seasons. He also co-created and starred in the FX single-camera comedy series “Legit,” in which he also played a version of himself. His most recent comedy special, “Jim Jefferies: This Is Me Now,” was released on Netflix in 2018.

Jefferies and American Auto both had a put pilot commitment at NBC — six years apart. Jim Jefferies' late night Comedy Central series aired its final episode on Tuesday evening, with the Australian comedian and late-night host telling his audience the reasoning for doing so is pretty understandable.

"Tonight is the last-ever Jim Jefferies Show. It's been a great three years and we're sad to go but for good reason," he said in his goodbye monologue. "I've solved everything."

The host then left it to a montage of clips — sprinkled with celebrity appearances including Brad Pitt and Carol Burnett — to recap three seasons of The Jim Jefferies Show....

Courtney B. Vance will play father to a music icon in the Aretha Franklin installment of National Geographic’s anthology series Genius.

Comedy Central has canceled weekly series “The Jim Jefferies Show” after three seasons, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

“‘The Jim Jefferies Show’ will air its final episode on Nov. 19, concluding a brilliant three-year run on Comedy Central,” the cable channel told TheWrap in a statement. “We thank Jim and the team for bringing us a unique and international approach to culture and politics. We look forward to developing more projects with Jim in the future.”

Reps for Jefferies did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment from the Australian comic.

The voice cast for U.S.-Chinese animated movie “Extinct” will feature Adam Devine, Rachel Bloom, Zazie Beetz and Ken Jeong. The film is being directed by David Silverman (“The Simpsons Movie”). “The Simpsons” veterans Joel Cohen, John Frink, and Rob Lazebnik are writing.

The adventure-comedy will follow Op and Ed, a species of donut-shaped animals called flummels. They accidentally time-travel from 1835 to modern-day Shanghai where they discover traffic, trans fats, and the fact that flummels have become extinct. The duo set out to to save themselves and their species.

The movie comes from China Lion, Hb Wink, Huayi Tencent Entertainment, and Tolerable Entertainment. Timeless Films has boarded the project and will sell it internationally, kicking off the sales effort at the Toronto Film Festival.

“We are really looking forward to screening the first footage from this incredibly funny film to our distributors at Toronto,” said Timeless CEO and chairman Ralph Kamp.

Exclusive: This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger are expanding their relationship with 20th Century Fox TV, forming new studio-based production company The Walk-Up Company as part of their continuing overall deal. They’ve also named former Comedy Central exec Adam Londy as head of development.

“20th has believed in us since the very beginning – they gave us our first professional writing job and offered us a blind script deal when we literally had no idea what that term meant,” said Aptaker and Berger. “We are beyond excited to be expanding our relationship with Dana, Craig, Carolyn, Howard and their exceptional teams. We’ve brought on the wonderful Adam Londy to spearhead our development and plan to use this opportunity to bring heartfelt, funny, human stories into the world.”

Aptaker and Berger will continue as co-showrunners with Dan Fogelman on NBC’s flagship drama series This Is Us and develop projects for the studio.

With the proliferation of both talk shows and sketch programs, the TV academy decided to split the Emmy Awards variety series category into two separate categories in 2015 to better recognize achievements in both these genres. While there were 28 entries for Best Variety Talk Series in 2015 that dipped down to 17 in 2016 and 20 in 2017. Although there were 21 such shows last year, this year there are again just 20 on the Emmy Awards nominations ballot. With six series reaping bids, the odds for each entry are pretty good.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 24 to cast their ballots for their favorite variety talk shows. In the past, voters were limited in the number of such shows that they could put forth; in 2017 that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. Unlike the Oscars voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Comedy Central is adding two new podcasts to its Global Podcast Network: “Stand-Up with Chris Distefano” and “Your 2 Dads with Sean and Julian.”

“Stand-Up with Chris Distefano,” launching April 18, dives into a library of stand-up routines for a weekly listening party between Distefano and his in-studio producer, Nicole Boyce. Pulling anything from modern bits to decades-old ones, the pair listen to and analyze classic routines, talk comedy, and take calls from some of Distefano’s comedian friends.

Distefano is an actor, comedian, and host of the Comedy Central’s series “Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano.” His one-hour stand-up special “Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist” premiered in January on Comedy Central. He recently signed an overall deal with the network, which will include a second hour-long stand-up special, an animated series, and an unscripted series. In the past he has appeared on MTV’s “Guy Code vs. Girl Code.”

Comedy Central is strengthening its relationship with comedian Jim Jefferies.

The cable network has renewed late-night series The Jim Jefferies Show for a third season and has also signed a first-look deal for projects created by Jefferies for TV and digital media.

Jefferies is one of several comedians to sign content deals with Comedy Central in recent months, joining the likes of Chris Distefano, Bill Burr and Anthony Jeselnik.

On “The Jim Jefferies Show” this Tuesday night, the outspoken Australian comedian gets sworn in as an American citizen, a coveted status that he was afraid would be denied him by the President.

“I never mentioned in the show until this moment that I wasn’t a citizen,” Jefferies said in an interview with IndieWire backstage. “I didn’t want a red flag added onto my name. And Trump, I believe, is a petty enough man that he might do something like that. Nixon did this. Nixon started auditing late-night show hosts because they were making jokes about him. On Tuesday’s edition of “The Jim Jefferies Show,” an exasperated Jim Jefferies said that the experience of living in the Trump era is like having the crazed logic of “#Pizzagate” being imposed on real life.

“In a way, we’re all trapped in a sexual slavery pizza/baseball dugout, in our minds,” Jefferies joked.

The comment came after Jefferies examined what he called “a new kind of emotion,” inspired by Donald Trump: “But… Wait… He can’t… F— you… Oh well, what can you do?”

With the proliferation of both talk shows and sketch programs, the TV academy decided to split the variety series category into two separate categories in 2015 to better recognize achievements in both these genres. While there were 28 entries for Best Variety Talk Series in 2015 that dipped down to 17 in 2016 and 20 in 2017. However, it is on the rise this year with 21 shows on the Emmy Awards nominations ballot. With six series reaping bids, the odds for each entry are pretty good.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 25 to cast their ballots for their favorite variety talk shows. In the past, voters were limited in the number of such shows that they could put forth; last year that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. Unlike the Oscars voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Unapologetically crass Australian stand-up comedian, actor, writer and political commentator Jim Jefferies has upgraded his residential circumstances in Los Angeles with the $3.15 million purchase of a newly built house in a leafy pocket of Studio City. Described in marketing materials as a “modern farmhouse,” the board-and-batten-sided family-sized domicile has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in more than 5,100 square feet protected by an extensive, camera-equipped security system.

Jim Jeffries pushed back against the working conditions faced by NFL cheerleaders with his own squad, whose members are much better paid.

On “The Jim Jefferies Show” Tuesday, he talked about the New York Times story about Washington Redskins cheerleaders who say during a recent trip they were forced, among other things, to serve as escorts for wealthy sponsors.

“Now I’m not scientist but that sounds a lot like sexual harassment,” Jefferies said. “I remember when the Washington Redskins were just a team with a racist logo.”

Jefferies connected the story to conditions faced by cheerleaders across the NFL, such as penalties for conduct applied to cheerleaders but not players. He also noted a cheerleader guidebook for the former Buffalo Bills’ cheerleading squad, the Buffalo Jills, that included rules for how often to change tampons, and how to eat soup.

“To be fair, the Buffalo jills aren’t mistreated anymore,” he said. “Because the program was ended after the Buffalo Jills filed a lawsuit and attempted to unionize. So it’s all sorted.”

Jefferies then noted low pay like the $150 per-game earned by the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. “Meanwhile, some mascots are paid as much as $65,000 a year. And they’re allowed to eat soup however they want,” he said.

Noting that if the same cheerleaders appeared on his show he’d have to pay them union rates that are “five times” higher than those for NFL cheerleaders, he unveiled the “Jim Jefferettes,” the “highest-paid professional cheerleaders in the country.”

Jefferies promised: “I won’t tell them how to eat soup. They can eat it however they want.”
