Aaron Eckhart is heading to the sky. The fan-favorite actor, who has become a mainstay in the action genre in recent years, is set to star in the plane thriller Midair.

According to Deadline, Midair will begin filming this September from a screenplay written by George Mahaffey, who previously penned Eckhart's 2024 action thriller Chief of Station. "When a seasoned ex-CIA cargo pilot embarks on a crucial flight to celebrate his son’s birthday, he is thrust into a harrowing battle for survival as a rogue agent takes control of the plane. Facing deadly threats and a ticking clock, he must navigate treacherous skies while protecting his passengers and uncover a sinister plot. Netflix’s Blood of Zeus is an animated series that brings the grandeur of ancient Greece and the mythical figures of Greco-Roman mythology to life. Mythological inaccuracies aside, the show excels in intricate storytelling, and its popularity has caused it to be renewed for a third season, which will be its final season.

While the show does a great job of depicting Olympus and its gods, it fails to fulfill the potential of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and War strategy. Unlike Zeus, Heron, or even Hera, she is barely present in the story. Despite being the literal goddess of war strategy, she is sidelined repeatedly, and fans can’t figure out why.

The promotional images shared by the creators for this final season showcased the introduction of Titans and Typhon, which is extremely concerning for the current state of Olympus.

Things are sure to escalate to a whole new level of intensity. With all the dark themes that have been prominent in the series so far, like betrayal, power struggles, and the blurred lines between good and evil, it’s highly likely the final eight episodes will be even crazier. Led Zeppelin, if you take in the full measure of their annihilating sunburst grandeur, are a very hard band to categorize. They’re usually thought of as the gods of metal, and few would deny that — though it’s my opinion that the DNA of classic metal owes as much to Black Sabbath’s second album, “Paranoid,” as it does to Zeppelin. That said, Led Zeppelin loomed like figures on Olympus over the entire cosmos of metal: the hard-charging thunder chords and blistering guitar solos, the long-haired priapic strutting, the vocals that scream out their omnipotence, the eroticized vandalism, the power.

Yet I also think of Zeppelin as the Beatles of heavy metal. There was a yin to their destructive yang — the songs they would do, like “Going to California” or “Thank You,” that conjured a vision of life as incandescent and romantic and glorious. The place where the hippie spirit still lived in them.

Regarding the top of the Disney streaming charts for 2024, Marvel and Star Wars aren't the ones reigning supreme. Instead, it was a surprise entry leading the charts as Percy Jackson and the Olympians took the gold medal as the most-viewed Disney+ series of the year gone by.

According to streaming analytics company Luminate (via Deadline), the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians comfortably topped the Disney+ viewership charts after premiering on the streaming service in late 2023. The show garnered over three billion viewing minutes last year, with the Star Wars spinoff, The Acolyte, the next closest at 2.7 billion minutes.

Action enthusiasts will have a hard time watching the Has Fallen trilogy on Hulu. Only the first entry in the Gerard Butler-led film series will hit the streaming platform at the end of November.

Beginning Nov. 29, Olympus Has Fallen will become available to stream on Hulu. The God of War series is one of the biggest and most notable first-party gaming franchises operating under the PlayStation Studios umbrella. The developers of Santa Monica Studio spent the last few years exclusively working on the franchise and transitioning Kratos from his native homeland of Sparta to dealing with the Norse Gods of the Nine Realms. The gaming community was immediately invested in the Norse Saga and now the retried god has foiled Odin’s reign of tyranny, fans think Atreus could take the lead in the next major installment.

The developers wouldn’t have dipped their toes on the possibility of traveling to different pantheons if they had no plans for the future. The ending of Ragnarok opened new doors of opportunities for the protagonists and one could lead them to Egypt next.

A spinoff series to Gerard Butler's 2013 action thriller Olympus Has Fallen will expand the film franchise into television. Pairs Has Fallen will feature a brand new cast of characters but will begin a new chapter of the Has Fallen action franchise that began with Butler's now-classic film. Olympus Has Fallen also starred Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Cole Hauser, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, and Morgan Freeman. The film received mixed reviews from critics and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 50%.

There are currently four movies in the Has Fallen franchise: Olympus (2013), London (2016), Angel (2019), and the upcoming Night Has Fallen, which has not been given a release date at the time of writing. Netflix is set to premiere its latest Greek mythology project, in which Jeff Goldblum will play the king of the gods in a contemporary setting.

Due to the story's theme, comparisons with the Disney+ show Percy Jackson and the Olympians are inevitable. Kaos, however, sets itself apart by putting a dark comedy twist on the relationship of Olympus’ first family headed by Zeus, who, after discovering (gasp!) a wrinkle on his forehead, increasingly develops trust issues.

While Zeus spirals into paranoia, the rest of his family seemingly plots against him, all the more stoking up his fears. “It’s so brutal,” Janet McTeer, who plays Hera, shares in an interview. “They will do anything for their own pleasure. They don’t care what it costs people or the earth.”

In a recent discussion on Disney rumors, The DisInsider‘s Skyler Shuler and Boardwalk Times‘ Zach Perilstein had some exciting news regarding the casting of upcoming movies. We’ve known for sometime that both actors were being eyed by Disney for the lead, but something may have recently changed.

When asked about the “top choices” for the role of the Greek hero and son of Zeus, Shuler had the following to say:

“Last I heard, Egerton was high on Disney’s “wishlist” as is Austin Butler, Jordan’s was not mentioned to me in my recent discussion with a source.“

After performing epically in quite a few romantic comedies until 2010 and winning the hearts of fangirls worldwide, Gerard Butler seems to have switched lanes permanently into the action genre.
