Wonder Woman No. 21 shows the curse of toxic masculinity in humans and gods
Image
One of the main focuses throughout Tom King’s Wonder Woman has been DC Comics' Diana Prince navigating her life in a world full of disgusting men saying and doing deplorable things because she’s a woman. As time passed, some of her enemies (like Sarge Steel) learned that using words that rhyme with witch weren’t appropriate. While this is common for mortals, you’d assume that the gods would be above this thinking. Apparently, not.

Wonder Woman No. 20, Diana asked Batman to help her solve a murder on Olympus. Diana’s mother Hippolyta was framed for killing Ares, and they had 24 hours to find out who it was. If the heroes failed, Batman would be killed by Zeus. In the process of gathering clues,...

Athena is The Goddess of War Strategy, and ‘Blood of Zeus’ Conveniently Reduced Her Screen Time During the Battle
Image
Netflix’s Blood of Zeus is an animated series that brings the grandeur of ancient Greece and the mythical figures of Greco-Roman mythology to life. Mythological inaccuracies aside, the show excels in intricate storytelling, and its popularity has caused it to be renewed for a third season, which will be its final season.

While the show does a great job of depicting Olympus and its gods, it fails to fulfill the potential of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and War strategy. Unlike Zeus, Heron, or even Hera, she is barely present in the story. Despite being the literal goddess of war strategy, she is sidelined repeatedly, and fans can’t figure out why.

Rick Riordan Drops Unexpected Truth About Disney’s ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Future, Season 3 Might Not Be the End
Image
Gather around, demigods, because author Rick Riordan just dropped a truth bomb straight from Mount Olympus. While we’re still counting the days until Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians drops on Disney+, Riordan teased the real tea about what happens after Season 3.

Yes, while we’re waiting for Season 2, Disney already renewed the show for Season 3 and now Rick Riordan broke his silence about what might come after the show adapts his third book The Titan’s Curse. Considering how his two final books will still remain to be adapted, Riordan gave serious hope. Perhaps, Olympus will open its gates wider than we thought!

‘Blood of Zeus’ Season 3: I’d Take Cronus’ Golden Age Over Zeus’ Olympians in Togas Parade Any Day
Image
After watching Blood of Zeus and going through the Greek mythology, I realized something. The Olympians have taken over the role of helming a new age, but they’ve been vastly careless about it.

The humans were starting to prosper, and the Olympian gods were going around doing their own thing. There was chaos, conflict, calamities, and pain everywhere. It made me wonder if the Golden Age established by the Titans was better.

Maybe Gaia was right in being angry; the world was possibly the most peaceful and stable under the rule of Cronus and the Titans. The gods seemed to have messed that up.

Cronus and the Titans led the Golden Age

I know Cronus wasn’t a saint. He did a lot of things that don’t make him the greatest person alive, like banishing the Giants and swallowing his children out of paranoia. But in a twisted way,...

‘Blood of Zeus’ Might Finally Embrace Its Darker Side to Make Season 3 Its Darkest One Yet
Image
Fans are about to be blessed yet another time with Netflix’s Blood of Zeus, which is returning soon for its final (3rd) season, and it seems like it’s going to be epic. The promotional images shared by the creators for this final season showcased the introduction of Titans and Typhon, which is extremely concerning for the current state of Olympus.

Things are sure to escalate to a whole new level of intensity. With all the dark themes that have been prominent in the series so far, like betrayal, power struggles, and the blurred lines between good and evil, it’s highly likely the final eight episodes will be even crazier. The series might just exploit all the complexities and horrors that have been hinted at so far to their fullest.

The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 Review: The Danny McBride Series Ends in Style
Image
For those who live in temperate climates, the coming of spring can mean complete release from the winter blues, the decluttering of homes, and a whole lot more time spent absorbing vitamin D. Flowers bloom, birds sing, and the foliage offers a sense that all is continuing apace. For some, it also means revisiting Danny McBride's great achievement (co-created by Jody Hill and Ben Best), Eastbound & Down. Kenny Powers' (McBride) fall-rise-fall-rise journey from baseball superstar to hometown shame -- "I hurt my nose" -- is like a cold beer on a hot night. It's a show in which anything could and often did happen.

Across four seasons of relatively low-stakes storytelling blown out of proportion by the lead's delirious ego, it was apparent that HBO had something on their hands that they have kept a firm grasp on ever since. The gem, so to speak, was and remains Danny McBride,...

How Led Zeppelin Changed the World
Image
Led Zeppelin, if you take in the full measure of their annihilating sunburst grandeur, are a very hard band to categorize. They’re usually thought of as the gods of metal, and few would deny that — though it’s my opinion that the DNA of classic metal owes as much to Black Sabbath’s second album, “Paranoid,” as it does to Zeppelin. That said, Led Zeppelin loomed like figures on Olympus over the entire cosmos of metal: the hard-charging thunder chords and blistering guitar solos, the long-haired priapic strutting, the vocals that scream out their omnipotence, the eroticized vandalism, the power.

Yet I also think of Zeppelin as the Beatles of heavy metal. There was a yin to their destructive yang — the songs they would do, like “Going to California” or “Thank You,” that conjured a vision of life as incandescent and romantic and glorious. The place where the hippie spirit still lived in them.

Hit Series Upends Marvel and Stars Wars to Become Disney+'s Most-Watched Show in 2024

Regarding the top of the Disney streaming charts for 2024, Marvel and Star Wars aren't the ones reigning supreme. Instead, it was a surprise entry leading the charts as Percy Jackson and the Olympians took the gold medal as the most-viewed Disney+ series of the year gone by.

According to streaming analytics company Luminate (via Deadline), the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians comfortably topped the Disney+ viewership charts after premiering on the streaming service in late 2023. The show garnered over three billion viewing minutes last year, with the Star Wars spinoff, The Acolyte, the next closest at 2.7 billion minutes.

November 29 Is a Frustrating Day for Fans of This Wildly Underrated Action Trilogy

Action enthusiasts will have a hard time watching the Has Fallen trilogy on Hulu. Only the first entry in the Gerard Butler-led film series will hit the streaming platform at the end of November.

Beginning Nov. 29, Olympus Has Fallen will become available to stream on Hulu. Unfortunately, its sequels, 2016's London Has Fallen and 2019's Angel Has Fallen, will not be joining the 2013 movie on the streaming platform which will no doubt frustrate fans of the franchise who subscribe to Hulu. Olympus Has Fallen introduces audiences to Butler's Mike Banning, a former Army Ranger and current Secret Service agent who finds himself in the midst of a national crisis. When North Korean terrorists seize the White House, Banning must use his skills and insider knowledge to rescue the President and reclaim the nation's symbol of power.

What is Next for God of War? Egyptian Mythology Rumors Hint Kratos Could Continue His Fights in the Afterlife With This Concept
Image
The God of War series is one of the biggest and most notable first-party gaming franchises operating under the PlayStation Studios umbrella. The developers of Santa Monica Studio spent the last few years exclusively working on the franchise and transitioning Kratos from his native homeland of Sparta to dealing with the Norse Gods of the Nine Realms. The gaming community was immediately invested in the Norse Saga and now the retried god has foiled Odin’s reign of tyranny, fans think Atreus could take the lead in the next major installment.

The developers wouldn’t have dipped their toes on the possibility of traveling to different pantheons if they had no plans for the future. The ending of Ragnarok opened new doors of opportunities for the protagonists and one could lead them to Egypt next.

Is Gerard Butlers Mike Banning In Paris Has Fallen?

A spinoff series to Gerard Butler's 2013 action thriller Olympus Has Fallen will expand the film franchise into television. Pairs Has Fallen will feature a brand new cast of characters but will begin a new chapter of the Has Fallen action franchise that began with Butler's now-classic film. Olympus Has Fallen also starred Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Cole Hauser, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, and Morgan Freeman. The film received mixed reviews from critics and a Rotten Tomatoes score of 50%.

There are currently four movies in the Has Fallen franchise: Olympus (2013), London (2016), Angel (2019), and the upcoming Night Has Fallen, which has not been given a release date at the time of writing. While Paris Has Fallen is a part of the larger franchise, it will be the first Has Fallen installment that will not star Gerard Butler. One of the most eagerly anticipated series on Netflix's roster for the year, the Greek mythology series, Kaos, is currently streaming on the platform. Kaos Review: A Divine Comedy for Modern Times
Image
Have you been looking for something new to watch after finishing the latest season of your favorite show? Then you may enjoy the recent Netflix series Kaos. With Jeff Goldblum in the lead role, this comedy puts a fresh twist on Greek mythology that is sure to keep you entertained.

Directed by Charlie Covell, the creative mind behind Channel 4’s cult hit The End of the F**king World, Kaos presents a modern vision of Mount Olympus. Goldblum stars as Zeus, the arrogant king of the gods, who faces turmoil as an ancient prophecy threatens to end his divine rule.

Accompanying him are a colorful pantheon of characters, from Janet McTeer’s powerful Hera to Aurora Perrineau’s independent mortal Riddy. Their intersecting stories unfold across contemporary Earth as well as in Olympus’ opulent palaces.

Though the plot incorporates heady themes, Covell ensures the tone remains lively throughout. Where...

Kaos: Renewal Process, Explained: Did Caeneus Renew The Souls? What Happens To The Frame?
Image
Kaos is basically about Zeus, the king of gods, and how his hunger for power destroys his reign. The Netflix modernized mythological retelling is perfectly entertaining and also quite original; it uses the gods in the most humanized way and brings them down to Earth, quite literally. In this world, the gods roam the Earth as and when they please and bring chaos with them. Zeus starts to panic when the Trojans rebel against the gods and desecrate the great art installation for the Olympians. The reason this terrifies Zeus is because there’s a prophecy that basically foretells his doom, and where does this start? When humans start to think the gods are not worth it. What Zeus doesn’t realize is that the Trojans are warring with him because he didn’t protect them, and they had everything stolen from them. The dude’s so stuck up that...

“I feel like it’s been left unnoticed”: God of War’s ‘Biggest feat’ Had Almost Beaten, And Everyone Has Forgotten
Image
God of War has introduced a new generation of players to Greek mythology and became a crash course for devoted players. The original trilogy heavily focused on the Gods of Olympus and their myths and accolades but some fans have overlooked how one other god used to be a massive threat.

Being a god has its perks, but Ares pushed it a step too far by opening a hole through the fabric of space and time during his battle with Kratos. No other being has accomplished such feat and it is for the best that Kratos did what he had to.

The Original God of War Was a Much Bigger Threat Compared to Other Deities

Percy Jackson for Adults? Jeff Goldblum Is A Paranoid Zeus in Upcoming Netflix Series - Main Image

Netflix is set to premiere its latest Greek mythology project, in which Jeff Goldblum will play the king of the gods in a contemporary setting.

Due to the story's theme, comparisons with the Disney+ show Percy Jackson and the Olympians are inevitable. Kaos, however, sets itself apart by putting a dark comedy twist on the relationship of Olympus’ first family headed by Zeus, who, after discovering (gasp!) a wrinkle on his forehead, increasingly develops trust issues.

While Zeus spirals into paranoia, the rest of his family seemingly plots against him, all the more stoking up his fears. “It’s so brutal,” Janet McTeer, who plays Hera, shares in an interview. “They will do anything for their own pleasure. They don’t care what it costs people or the earth.”

“It was always a mashup of stuff,...

One of the main features of this franchise, beyond its current state, is its emphasis on high levels of violence and gore. Jaffe referred to how he wanted the player to feel when controlling this vengeful god.
