Earlier this morning, it was heavily rumored that Marvel and Netflix had cast Game of Thrones star Finn Jones as Danny Rand in their fourth series Iron Fist. EW has now confirmed that the actor is taking on the coveted role. He will play a martial arts master who mixed it up with the other superheroes who reside in Hell's Kitchen, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

Finn Jones is perhaps best known for playing Ser Loras Tyrell on Game of Thrones. Iron Fist doesn't have a premiere date yet, and it's unclear wether it will debut this winter, following the summer launch of Luke Cage, or if it will begin streaming in early 2017. Former Dexter show runner Scott Buck will be leading the Iron Fist creative team.

Daniel Rand first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 way back in May 1974. At age 9, he travels with his family to a lost mystical city called K'un-l'un.

Last month, Luke Cage star Mike Colter teased that the studio had already cast Danny Rand in their fourth Netflix series Iron Fist, although he wouldn't reveal the identity of the actor. There have been rumors in the past that Ryan Phillippe will portray the title character in this upcoming series, but that was never confirmed, as we continue to wait for any official news. A new rumor has surfaced today from The Hashtag Show which claims that Game of Thrones star Finn Jones may be playing Danny Rand.

While we'll have to wait and see if Marvel confirms this news in the near future, the site speculates that Finn Jones' absence on social media as of late could be a hint regarding his casting. Ever since the late-January story broke that the studio has cast Iron Fist, the actor has only tweeted twice, although he was quite active...

1971’s Duel revved the engines of cinematic road-ragers everywhere and put many a vicious vehicle on the old highway to hell. What horror fan doesn’t love The Car, Christine, and Death Proof?

Those are classics. But what sets the Joy Ride film franchise apart from the rest is that it’s more about the diabolical driver and less about the terrifying truck. Which is not to say the big rig isn’t badass in its own right, but let’s face it: The 18-wheeler isn’t nearly as fun to chat with as actor and stuntman Ken Kirzinger.

Actor Paul Walker starred in the first Joy Ride feature, way back in 2001. It is thirteen years later and villain Rusty Nail is still cruising back roads and highways, in search of more victims. Joy Ride 3: Road Kill will release through video-on-demand June 3rd and home entertainment formats June 17th (DVD, Blu-ray); Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will handle the home release. Irish director Declan O'Brien has been replaced by Re-kill director Valeri Milev for the sixth installment in the Wrong Turn series. It has been ten years since actress Eliza Dushku played Jessie, a woman chased by a gang of cannibal hillbillies. A ten year run with five sequels makes the Wrong Turn film series one of the longest running horror franchises in recent history. And, a few updates have been released for Wrong Turn 6. This production has already started shooting in Sophia, Bulgaria. As well, several casting announcements have been released. Most recently, Sadie Katz of House of Bad (2013) fame has joined the cast, along with: Aqueela Zoll (Killjoy Goes to Hell), Anthony Ilott, Chris Jarvis, Rollo Skinner and Billy Ashworth. Fox Entertainment will produce this latest sequel as it did with Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines. Story details are being kept in mystery. However, horror fans can preview more cast and crew details below.

It seems that Fox Home Entertainment are willing to take yet another 'Wrong Turn' and have begun working on the sixth installment in the backward hillbilly franchise which began all the way back in 2003. 'Wrong Turn 6' is currently shooting on location in Bulgaria under the helm of Valeri Milev ('Code Red') and follows on from 2012's 'Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines'. It's a pity they've just missed out on the 10 year anniversary but the new chapter in the series is being lined up for a DVD, Blu-ray and VOD release this coming Autumn/Fall. The gorgeous Roxanne McKee -below ('Game of Thrones', 'Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines') is the latest to join Syfy's new TV series 'Dominion'. The show is based on the 2010 fantasy horror 'Legion' from writer/director Scott Stewart which saw actor Paul Bettany play Archangel Michael, a rebellious visitor from Heaven who helps the human race against a legion of other angels set to bring the Apocalypse to Earth. The Universal Cable production will pick up the action 25 years later and is set to shoot in Cape Town, South Africa. O’Brien’s third written-and-directed installment in the "killer hillbilly" franchise, Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, was filmed this past April and May in Sofia, Bulgaria, and we were there to document a portion of the carnage (see the start of our set visit coverage here).

  2003 -- Wrong Turn, a horror film about some unfortunate young people who run afoul of some vile backwoods hillbilly cannibals while traveling through the West Virginia woodlands, does pretty decent business for a "no-name" horror flick (it grossed about $28 million in North America) but went on to become a big renter at the video stores as well as a heavy-rotation cable TV favorite. The movie has a strong cast, some solid tension, a few nasty shocks, and a bunch of great practical effects from the late Stan Winston and his cohorts.   2007 -- Wrong Turn 2: Dead End premieres on DVD, and while it lacks the appreciable "seriousness" of its predecessor, this "Dtv" follow-up turned out to be a lot more amusing than any horror fan could reasonably expect. This week, the latest chapter in the Wrong Turn franchise, Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, makes its DVD and Blu-ray debut.  And with this arrival comes the introduction of Maynard, a sinister new character in the series, played by Doug Bradley (Hellraiser).  We won't give too much away, but we will say Bradley's Maynard is closely connected to Wrong Turn's lethal inbred brothers

The sequel is set in a small mining town which hosts the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween and where crowds of costumed partygoers gather for a wild night of music and mischief. But a killer celebration soon gives way to a blood-soaked feeding frenzy when an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals trick and treat themselves to a group of visiting college students who are just dying for a good time.

Straight-to-dvd franchises have seen a resurgence of late, with sequels to The Lost Boys, The Scorpion King, and Death Race finding strong core audiences on Blu-ray and DVD. Fox Home Entertainment has one of the most successful franchises with the Wrong Turn sequels, featuring the cannibalistic brothers One Eye, Saw Tooth, and Three Finger slashing their way into the hearts of horror fans everywhere. The latest installment is Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, arriving on Blu-ray and DVD October 23, with the addition of horror icon Doug Bradley joining the cast. This past Saturday (10/20) this writer, along with actresses Natalie Victoria (DeadHeads) and Carlee Baker (The Woman)' made the drive from Hollywood to Temecula, CA, to participate in Run For Your Lives, a zombie-infested 5K obstacle course race and lived to tell about it.

A national phenomenon, this past weekend’s Run For Your Lives event was set up at Vail Lake, Temecula, and in addition to the well-organized race, it included live bands, food and alchohol vendors and a Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines booth (the film streets tomorrow, 10/23, on DVD and Blu-ray via Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment), where filmmaker Declan O’Brien spent some time signing materials after completing his heat (no lie, I had to talk him into the former, and as it turned out, he was happy I did).

So how does Run For Your Lives work? It’s pretty straightforward.

Some movie producer made a wrong turn somewhere.

Since 2003’s “Wrong Turn” with Eliza Dushku and Emmanuelle Chriqui, the “Wrong Turn” series has become a cult favorite for its die hard fans.

“Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines” marked its fifth entry into the franchise with a certain twist—the favorite hillbilly cannibals are not stalking for victims in the mountain forests this time, but in a small town.

The backdrop of the movie has a small West Virginia town hosting the Mountain Man Festival on Halloween (think Lollapalooza meets Burning Man Festival).

One of the members of the cannibal family was arrested and jailed in town, and then it was up to the three brothers to rescue their family. However, the local sheriff and a few out-of-town visitors defend themselves from this oncoming attack.

The Wrong Turn series was never all that inventive to begin with as it started with hapless teenagers getting lost in the woods and falling prey to the savage intentions of a group of mutant inbreeds. It milked that concept for two sequels and a prequel, getting worse and worse every time. On one hand, that makes it easy for the faithful fans who stuck around to go back and visit the first two entries with some semblance of nostalgia, but it also calls into question the wisdom of continuing a franchise that lacks anything original in the horror department.
