The two main characters of the Acorn TV series, Harry Wild, are, on the surface, an unlikely pair. The Jane Seymour-led series follows Seymour's Harry partnering up with Rohan Nedd's Fergus after he mugs her in broad daylight. The retired college professor enlists Fergus's help when she starts seeing things that others don't in a murder. Over the course of the first three seasons, Harry and Fergus have formed a close bond. The maternal presence was something Fergus severely lacked after his mother, Paula Kenny, walked out, and his grandmother had since passed. Fergus has also had to deal with a less-than-upstanding father, Malky Reid, and take care of his younger sister Liberty. He's only ever been able to take on a parentified role as a teenager, and under Harry's tutelage, he's actually able to feel a bit more like a teenager — one who happens to solve murders in his free time.

Jane Seymour is probably most well-known for playing Dr. Michaela Quinn on the 90s television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Seymour now plays another titular character on Acorn TV’s Harry Wild, which follows a recently retired college professor in Dublin, Ireland who gets mugged. Being the mother of a police officer, curiosity kills the cat, and she finds out who mugged her — a teenager named Fergus Reid (Rohan Nedd). Eventually, the pair begin solving crimes, going so far as to form a detective agency.

Anne of Green Gables is playing the woman who created her, no really. According to Variety, Megan Follows(Reign), who played Anne Shirely back in 1985 will be portraying Anne of Green Gables author L.M. Montgomery in a new series about her life. The series, titled Lucy. Maud. is now in production. Montgomery, beginning in 1908, penned several novels about Anne Shirley and her life as an orphan dropped in the lap of two middle-aged siblings. The 1985 miniseries made Follows a beloved name, with the series cementing itself as a feel-good warm you from the inside out Americana series alongside shows such as Little House on the Prairie and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Before he was writing half the shows on Paramount+, Taylor Sheridan was an actor. The man behind shows like "Yellowstone" and "Tulsa King" and the scripts for films including "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" cut his teeth with screen work, a pastime he occasionally returns to when he needs someone to play, say, a cool cowboy who's dating Bella Hadid.
Years before he became known as a Hollywood cowboy, I knew Sheridan as a mysterious man named Danny Boyd in the plucky teen detective show "Veronica Mars," and as the hate-worthy cop Deputy David Hale on FX's "Sons of Anarchy." Those may have been two of Sheridan's most high-profile TV roles, but they're far from his only acting credits. He's had bit parts going all the way back to "Walker, Texas Ranger" in 1995, and can be seen in one-off roles in shows like "CSI," "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,...

In the "Star Trek: Enterprise" episode "Chosen Realm", the Enterprise rescues a group of Triannons whose ship was damaged by a spatial anomaly. The captain of the Triannons, a man named Pri'Nam D'Jamat (Conor O'Farrell), explains that he leads a religious sect self-tasked with the exploration of multiple mysterious mechanical spheres that are scattered throughout this part of the galaxy. The spheres, he says, were created by the gods, and will guide his people toward the correct religious doctrine. He believes that the space around the spheres is holy land.

2004 was a notable year for television viewers. “Friends” wrapped up its 10-year run; Ken Jennings had his first winning streak on “Jeopardy!”; Illinois senator Barack Obama made a splash with a keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention; new series “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives” became obsessions. In the 1990s, if you were looking for edgy fare on network television, you'd be looking at Law & Order, My So-Called Life, or NYPD Blue. In fact, you'd probably hit Animaniacs or The Magic School Bus before even considering the popular Western drama Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. The series, which ran on CBS for 6 seasons between 1993 and 1998, stars Jane Seymour as the titular Dr. Michaela Quinn, aka "Dr. Mike," a female physician who sets up a practice in the town of Colorado Springs. The series is as squeaky-clean and family-friendly as they come, in the vein of predecessors like The Waltons or Little House on the Prairie. But imagine if Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman was as edgy and dark as, say, Breaking Bad. What would that look like? Well, imagine no more, as Funny or Die pulled the original cast together to picture what such a scenario would look like,...

Logan “Stan” Garner, a train coordinator for movie and TV productions who often played a train conductor on film, died May 20 in Arizona. He was 83.
Born in Pasadena, he lived in Southern California until moving to Arizona in 2007. Garner was a founding partner with Short Line Enterprises, where he restored and operated 19th century steam locomotives and passenger cars for museums and excursion trains.
After film and TV producers began requesting trains, the company created a movie railroad backlot, which was used for productions until the late 1980s. As owner of the Train Source, he became a sought-out train coordinator, assembling locomotives, providing passenger and freight cars, creating sets for train crossings, tracks and stations and providing personnel for TV productions.
He became a SAG member and was often cast as a train conductor or railroad worker in productions.
Garner worked on over 300 feature films, TV episodes, movies of the week and music videos.

'Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman' starring Jane Seymour, was shot primarily at the world-famous Paramount Movie Ranch in Agoura Hills, California. The entire fictional town of Colorado Springs was built there, and fans of the show could tour the set, talk to the actors, and even watch episodes of the show as they were being filmed. After the conclusion of the series in 1998, the studio removed many of the popular fixtures of Colorado Springs. However, the entire town remained, more or less, and was still very recognizable.

Jane Seymour has given fans an update on plans to revive her classic 1990s TV series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. In a new interview with The Messenger, Seymour, who starred as the titular Dr. Michaela “Mike” Quinn in the 1800s set series, revealed that one unnamed network recently passed on the project, who allegedly told her, “they weren’t interested in Westerns.” “We’ve actually got one [episode] written, and we’ve got the whole series planned out,” Seymour said. “We just took it to one of the networks, and they said that they weren’t interested in Westerns.” “I think it’s really crazy,” she continued. “There seems to be a lot of very successful Westerns, so I didn’t get that at all.” Indeed, there have been a number of successful Western shows in recent years, most notably Taylor Sheridan‘s super hit Yellowstone, which itself has led to several spinoffs.

Twilight was released on November 21, 2008, and even with how popular the book series was, no one expected the craze that it would bring to the film industry and fandom culture. It’s an understatement to say fans were upset when CBS canceled Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman 25 years ago. “I got more letters on that show than on all the rest of the shows I’ve canceled combined,” Les Moonves, then CBS Television’s president and CEO, told the Deseret News at the time. Nevertheless, the network upheld Dr. Quinn’s cancellation, citing declining ratings and an aging fanbase. And so the Season 6 finale, “A New Beginning,” which aired on May 16, 1998, became the series finale. But that episode wasn’t the end of the Dr. Quinn story. Since then, CBS has produced a pair of TV movies, fans, and novelists have advanced the show’s narrative in prose form, and star Jane Seymour started campaigning for a reboot. Doctor’s orders: Keep reading to see how creators have expanded upon the original show in the last quarter-century. The TV movies Following the original series’ cancelation,...

Bruce Miller has stepped down from his post as showrunner of the “The Handmaid’s Tale,” passing his duties on the sixth and final season to Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang, who already served as writers and executive producers.

There’s a changing of the guard in the behind-the-scenes world of Gilead.
The Handmaid’s Tale showrunner Bruce Miller, who has steered Hulu’s Emmy-winning drama since its start, has handed over day-to-day oversight of the Elisabeth Moss series. Longtime writers and exec producers Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang have been named co-showrunners for the sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, taking over the role previously held by Miller.
Miller has been steering development of The Testaments, author Margaret Atwood’s sequel to Handmaid’s Tale, at the same time as he’s been plotting the final season of the flagship series. With too much on his plate, Miller opted to focus on The Testaments, with Tuchman and Chang taking over the everyday decision-making on the flagship series. Miller, sources say, will still be highly involved with the final season and will write two episodes of the season.

1923 star James Badge Dale notes Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan's incredible work ethic. The writer-director began his career as an actor in the mid-'90s, picking up small roles in various television shows to include Walker, Texas Ranger, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman and Party of Five. His most prominent role came in the popular FX series Sons of Anarchy, as David Hale. However, Sheridan grew frustrated with acting and began his career as a screenwriter, penning the critically acclaimed Sicario, which was directed by Denis Villeneuve and starred Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio Del Toro.
After writing a string of hits, including the Academy Award-nominated neo-Western Hell or High Water, Sheridan created Yellowstone, a Western-drama centered on John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the patriarch of a family that owns the largest contiguous ranch in the state of Montana. The incredibly popular Paramount show led to the creation of a franchise featuring multiple spinoffs,...
