The satirical animated sitcom South Park continues. The Comedy Central hit will return this year with Season 27.

South Park debuted in 1997, and since then, it has become one of the most recognizable series of all time, receiving numerous accolades, and critical acclaim. After over two years, South Park will return with Season 27 on July 9, Variety confirms. The series has also unveiled its first teaser, which promises a lot of madness.

The animated sitcom features many references to recent pop culture events, including Wicked, Diddy, and teases a violent war against Canada with "Blame Canada" as background music, including the French taking back the Statue of Liberty. The series was co-created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for Comedy Central.
