Granddaughter of Elia Kazan.

She and boyfriend Paul Dano shot the movie, Elle s'appelle Ruby (2012), which Zoe wrote and in which they co-star.

In a relationship with Paul Dano since 2007. They have two children together, daughter Alma Bay Dano, and son.

She has Greek (from her paternal grandfather), English, and German ancestry.
