Superman watches over Metropolis in motion poster; New trailer premieres Wednesday
David Corenswet in Superman (2025)
Superman director James Gunn has released a new motion poster for the upcoming movie. The poster features the Man of Steel (and Krypto) watching over Metropolis. Superman then takes flight before it is revealed that a brand-new trailer will premiere on Wednesday.

A post shared by James Gunn (@jamesgunn)

It feels like we’ve already seen a lot from Superman, including a teaser trailer, a 5-minute preview, and a behind-the-scenes featurette, but a lot is riding on this one. Sure,Creature Commandos did give us our first little taste of the Dcu, but Superman will be the real test. Depending on who you listen to (or your opinions on the trailers), the buzz hasn’t all been positive, so Warner Bros. will want to push this one really hard to get people in theaters.

I hope the new trailer doesn’t show us too much,...

Will Audra Regret Answering Victor’s Call After April 18 Young and the Restless?
Image
Nate is all about Audra, and she was all about him, too…but could that fizzle out after the April 18 episode of The Young and the Restless? They hit the town for a romantic night, but just as things were about to heat up again, a call from Victor had Audra on fire and Nate going cold. Will her newly found alliance with The Mustache ruin this hot and heavy love story?

A Call to Sizzling Hot Action

Victor (Eric Braeden) has offered up a remarkable future to Audra (Zuleyka Silver). He’ll financially back a whole brand spanking new company for her, and with only one condition. Of course, that condition is a wild ask – to pry an unsuspecting Kyle (Michael Mealor) away from his precious granddaughter Claire (Hayley Erin).

Seducing a man? Sure, Audra can do that. In fact, it’s pretty much a cakewalk. And, it’s...

This Overlooked Dragon Ball Z Movie is a Way More Dramatic Ending For the Anime
Image
Dragon Ball has established a transformative legacy that continues to tell new stories and draw in more fans every year. Dragon Ball is more about the journey than the destination, but it's impossible not to get caught up in the dramatic ways that each Dragon Ball series attempts to wrap things up. Dragon Ball Z's ending, which features a drastic ten-year time-skip, is hardly a disappointing conclusion. That being said, there are certainly elements that feel rushed and the audience barely gets the opportunity to spend time with the Peaceful World Saga versions of Goku and company.

Dragon Ball Z was also concurrently releasing feature films alongside its ongoing anime, the last of which, for decades, is Dragon Ball Z: Wrathofthe Dragon. It may seem unusual for DragonBall Z to conclude with this film, rather than regular episodes, but there's a strong case to be made for why Wrath...

Quentin Tarantino Says This Free-to-Stream Classic Thriller is “As good as studio filmmaking ever gets”
Image
Quentin Tarantino loves movies far more than most. He doesn’t just watch them. he eats, sleeps, and breathes cinema. Accordingly the writer/director is quite knowledgeable about noteworthy cinematic efforts from years past. In fact, you might say he wrote the book on it. Because he basically did.

Tarantino’s book Cinema Speculation chronicles a variety of standout historic offerings with which the director connected. Through the tome, he dives into a lot of his influences and serves up plenty of quality recommendations within.

One film Tarantino speaks especially fondly of through the pages of Cinema Speculation is an Edmund Goulding picture he thinks deserves even more acclaim than it tends to get.

The Pulp Fiction director has this to say about the motion picture in question: “While Nightmare Alley is rightly considered a classic, I still think it’s underrated. To me, Nightmare Alley is as good as studio filmmaking ever gets.

Sailor Moon: The Seven Great Youma, Ranked
Image
The Dark Kingdom arc is the first Sailor Moon arc, whose base storyline is canon in the manga series, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, in the '90s original anime, and in the reboot anime, Sailor Moon Crystal. The '90s Sailor Moon anime was purposefully extended by studios with several filler arcs. The thought was to make the '90s anime as interesting and engaging as possible to a wide audience. One of the main added filler arcs is the Seven Great Youma mini-arc.

Crystals are a key component in Sailor Moon, and the Seven Great Youma each carry one of the Seven Rainbow Crystals. These Great Youma were key warriors who fought on the side of Queen Beryl and Queen Metalia, helping to topple the Moon Kingdom. When the Seven Great Youma fell, Queen Serenity imprisoned them in crystals and sent them to Earth to be reborn as gifted and virtuous humans.

Sailor Moon: The Seven Great Monsters & the Rainbow Crystals, Explained
Image
The Seven Great Youma is a mini-arc that begins in the second half of Sailor Moon's first season. While the Seven Great Youma are an important part of Queen Beryl and Queen Metalia's plans in the Dark Kingdom arc, the subplot only exists in the original '90s anime and doesn't come from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon manga canon. These Great Youma are meant to be the Dark Kingdom's strongest warriors, also called the Seven Shadows.

The Seven Shadows fought against Queen Serenity and the Moon Kingdom until they were defeated and scattered on Earth. They're then reborn as humans who the Dark Kingdom must find and activate. They each carry one of seven Rainbow Crystals, an invention of the '90s anime only, which have a precarious connection to the Serenity line's greatest tool, the Silver Crystal.

I Never Expected Invincible Season 3 Finale Will Cure the Trauma ‘Walking Dead’ Inflicted 9 Years Ago

Invincible Season 3 was not the first time that Steven Yeun and Jeffery Dean Morgan found themselves on opposing sides. The last time these two had a face-off, funnily enough, was also in a show that owed its origins to Robert Kirkman.

Conquest arriving on Earth || Credit: Prime Video

Negan (Morgan) and Glenn (Yeun) in The Walking Dead had a brutal encounter where the former crushed the skull of the latter, in what was considered one of the most horrific and shocking deaths of the series. This moment, with an ironic twist, came full circle as Jeffery Dean Morgan’s Conquest made landfall on Earth to fight it out with Steven Yeun’s Invincible.

Who Set Claire Up with Holden on March 11 Young and the Restless?
Image
Claire and Holden shared a martini and some banter on the March 11 episode of The Young and the Restless. In real life, people meet random people every day…and it doesn’t mean anything. In a soap opera, everything means something. So what does Holden mean by being so attentive to Claire? We think we know. And it’s not the obvious!

Love Strikes

The obvious assumption is that Claire (Hayley Erin) and Holden (Nate Owens) are being set up as a new couple. Kyle (Michael Mealor) certainly reacted like he thought it might be a possibility.

Holden was certainly being flirty. Even Claire was being flirty, and she claims to have been so sheltered that she never even saw a James Bond movie. Kyle is the first guy she slept with. So, of course, she thinks she’s in love with him. But Kyle is a whiny, petulant, spoiled child.

Superman director James Gunn shares new photo of The Engineer
Image
Superman director James Gunn took to social media to share a new behind-the-scenes photo of María Gabriela de Faría (Deadly Class) as The Engineer. You can check out the new photo below!

In the caption, Gunn wrote: “Happy Anniversary to the Engineer, created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, who you can see played to sinister perfection by puppy in human form Gaby de Faria in #Superman this July!“

The behind-the-scenes photo isn’t particularly revealing, but it does give us another look at the Engineer’s costume. The location is the same one we saw in the teaser trailer, in which Superman is battling a different black-suited character. Speaking of that teaser, it became the most viewed and talked about trailer in the history of DC of Warner Bros. when it was viewed over 250 million times in the first 24 hours after its release.

Dragon Ball Super's Newest Hero Has a Surprising Connection to Shonen Anime's Darkest Villains
Image
Dragon Balland Hunter X Hunter may both be battle Shonen anime, but they're vastly different in any other way. At their cores, Dragon Ball is an action-comedy that never takes itself too seriously, and features clear good guys & bad guys. Hunter X Hunter is a bleak, depressing, and cerebral story where traditional heroes are nearly non-existent. The difference has never been more prominent than right now, as Dragon Ball Super just concluded its light and breezy High School Saga, while Hunter X Hunter's Succession Contest Arc has abandoned all pretense of being a battle Shonen, and consistently finds new ways to shock fans.

The High School Saga and Succession Contest Arc couldn't be less alike, yet they've coincidentally drawn a parallel between their respective manga. Dragon Ball Super has recently introduced fans to Clean God, a hero with ties to Hunter X Hunter's Phantom Troupe. The Phantom Troupe themselves...

Medusas and Minotaurs: 6 of the Scariest Greek Monsters in Movies
Image
Humanity has been sharing stories about horrific monsters since time immemorial, and some of these tales have become so ingrained in culture that they end up outlasting the societies that created them. That’s why we still see movies based on mythic figures like Hercules and the Minotaur over two thousand years after the end of the Hellenistic period.

And with even Christopher Nolan borrowing from Greek Mythology in his upcoming Odyssey adaptation, we’ve decided to compile a list celebrating six of the scariest depictions of ancient Greek monsters in film. After all, an epic quest is only as thrilling as the strange beasts that our heroes encounter along the way.

In an effort to keep things varied, we’ll only be including one entry per monster. That being said, don’t forget to comment below with your own mythic favorites if you think we missed a particularly spooky example.

Dragon Ball Super Reveals Gohan Never Stopped Training
Image
Contains spoilers for Chapter 104 of Dragon Ball Super One-Shot now available on the Viz Media site.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 104 is a well-welcomed one-shot nearly one year after the series' hiatus following the late, great Akira Toriyama's passing. While many fans wanted to see Goku and Vegeta finally face off against Black Frieza, the Dragon Ball Super manga instead focuses on Goten and Trunk's origin stories as Saiyamen X-1 and X-2.

Inspired by the heroic actions of Clean God (a superhero like the Great Saiyaman), Trunks, and Goten become Saiyamen X-1 and X-2, fighting crime and keeping their bodies fit and trained for battle. The reveal of who the heroic Clean God is left many excited and reassured that this Z-Fighter hasn't stopped training, despite what other material may suggest. Gohan's dedication to training is a testament to his character development and his commitment to protecting Earth.

Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 Gets Long-Awaited Release Date & Update

February is an excellent month for Dragon Ball Super fans, as the manga, which has long been on hiatus, is returning to publication with a brand-new chapter. However, the release date for Dragon Ball Super Volume 24 might suggest a disappointing future for the series.

Nearly a week after the official Dragon Ball website shared the pencil drafts for the new Dragon Ball Super chapter, which will go by the title of Chapter 104, the release date for the new Dragon Ball Super manga collection leaked online. This information was provided in the April 2025 edition of V Jump magazine, whose cover has now been officially revealed. In his standard adult form, Goku takes center stage on the magazine’s cover, while Trunks, Goten and Clean God are shown at the bottom left.

10 Action Panels Akira Toriyama Drew in the Dragon Ball Manga That Pack More Punch Than Anything in the Anime
Image
The Dragon Ball Z anime is the main source of the Dragon Ballfranchise's popularity. However, there are many ways in which the original Dragon Ball manga is superior to its animated counterpart. The biggest advantage the manga has over the anime is the legendary artwork of the late Akira Toriyama. The Dragon Ball manga isn't as popular as the iconic Dragon Ball Z anime, but Akira Toriyama's illustrations make it unquestionably the visually superior work.

More so than his writing, Toriyama's varying art styles, superb line-work, and mastery over paneling in action scenes set him apart from every mangaka to come before and after him. The result of Toriyama's artistic genius is a large selection of manga panels with more emotion behind them than the anime could ever muster.

“I just kept on drawing without a clue”: Real Reason Akira Toriyama Didn’t Want Majin Buu in Dragon Ball
Image
The adventures in Dragon Ball are marked by the advent of many powerful supervillains and Goku’s eventual subjugation of them. Among these antagonists, Majin Buu is one of the fan-favorites despite years having passed since his role in the series. However, Akira Toriyama was not too keen on debuting the character.

The reason behind his motive is more shocking that Majin Buu’s character itself. In an interview, the mangaka revealed that he loved the slice-of-life characteristics of Dragon Ball so much before the advent of Buu that he was least interested in creating another antagonist.

Superman: James Gunn defends “goofy” shot from the recent TV spot
Image
A new 30-second TV spot for James Gunn’s Superman was released yesterday, showing off some fresh footage from the highly anticipated movie. However, the final shot of the teaser has come under fire. In it, Superman does a barrel roll as he avoids some rocks, with the camera focusing on the character’s face as he flies towards us. Some feel that it looks a little “goofy” and have blamed the lack of facial movement on poor VFX, but Gunn has defended the shot on Threads.

“There is absolutely zero CG in his face,” Gunn said. “People’s faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background plate in Svalbard is 100% real, as is David.“

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with the shot from the Superman TV spot. A little more expression may have done the trick, but we also don...

Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Choreographer for ‘Footloose’ and Broadway’s ‘Swing!,’ Dies at 78

Choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett, who taught Kevin Bacon acrobatic dance moves for his starring turn in Footloose and received two Tony nominations for her efforts on Swing!, has died. She was 78.

10 Iconic Monsters That Absolutely Must Return In Monster Hunter Wilds
Image
With Monster Hunter Wilds releasing in just over a month, there's plenty for long-time fans of the series to be excited about. While Monster Hunter Wilds' roster continues to grow since it was first announced, there's still plenty of room to surprise players with some iconic monsters returning when the game fully releases. Given that only a third of the monsters revealed so far are making their return from previous entries, there are more than a few slots to fill with some fan-favorite monsters.

The second beta test could also be an excellent opportunity for Capcom to introduce a surprise monster for players to encounter, much like how Rey Dau was a secret option to discover in-game. While it's more likely that a new monster will make its way into the second beta as a secret encounter rather than a returning one, it would be a fantastic surprise for long-time fans.

This Dragon Ball Z Character Isn’t the Loser Anime Fans Think He Is
Image
There is perhaps no Dragon Ball character with a worse reputation than Yamcha. One of the most classic characters in the franchise, Yamcha is branded a loser by fans for his perceived weakness, his lack of victories in fights, and his embarrassing personality. While he's by no means one of the series' greatest or strongest heroes, the desert bandit turned Z-Warrior has more going for him than one might think.

Yamcha has been the butt of jokes for decades, but Dragon Ball Z's biggest punchline doesn't deserve the disrespect. He's one of the anime's original main characters, he's immensely powerful, he's indirectly saved both Goku and the world, and he has an all-around impressive life going for him.

Ariana Greenblatt Will Reportedly Return as Young Ahsoka in Season 2!

Originally planned as a miniseries, Ahsoka evolved into discussions about a second season, depending on the success of the first. After the show’s full release in October 2023, Dave Filoni shifted his focus from his upcoming Star Wars crossover film to exploring a follow-up season for Ahsoka.

There Are 2 Easily Overlooked Features That Make Indiana Jones & The Great Circle A True Movie
Image
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has successfully adapted the film franchise into game form, receiving plenty of praise for its attention to detail and atmosphere. While there's no official sales information, The Great Circle was already one of the most-played games released in December, only falling just short of the massive release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. While The Great Circle's fantastic visual fidelity and fantastic voice actors are a large part of its success, The Great Circle's immersive Indiana Jones experience is a key selling point.

While The Great Circle isn't the only Indiana Jones game worth playing, it's by far the best of the bunch, benefiting greatly from a mix of classic exploration gameplay combined with modern improvements. Following Indiana Jones on his journey across the globe, they'll learn about his past while forging new connections with interesting characters, providing a standalone adventure worthy of the film franchise.

Charlie Brown Fans, Ring In the New Year Right With These 10 Classic Peanuts Comics
Image
People like to celebrate the New Year with a bang, something the Peanuts also like to do. Just like Peanuts shows holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas in its comic strips - including some truly classic stories - New Years is also shown annually.

Despite some of these comics being over 60 years old, these New Year's comics remain relatable to readers, whether it be Charlie Brown and Lucy not getting invited to New Year's parties, resolutions, or party fouls. The New Year's comics manage to differ from one another year after year despite the strip's fifty-year duration, while still establishing hilarious running gags. Similar to how Halloween has the running gag of the Great Pumpkin or how winter has the gag of Snoopy being someone's skating partner, Peanuts' New Year's comics have their own share of ongoing jokes.

Indiana Jones & The Great Circle Proves How Games Can Avoid A Common Nostalgia Trap
Image
Nostalgia can often be a double-edged sword for long-running franchises, but Indiana Jones and the Great Circle provides a perfect example of how it can be wielded effectively. The most recent entry in the Indiana Jones franchise was the subject of much hype and ballyhoo during its three years in development, and now that the finished product is in players' hands, people have been largely pleased with it. The mass appeal of the game is certainly due in no small part to the recognizable name and image of Dr. Jones himself, as well as the classic movies he's associated with.

For millions of people all over the world, the Indiana Jones movies are the pinnacle of the adventure genre, full of moments that left an indelible mark on the fabric of pop culture. Being able to work with such a recognizable license affords many opportunities to The Great Circle, but...

When Timothée Chalamet gets out of the car in Manhattan at the start of A Complete Unknown, he’s already the iconic Bob Dylan—dressed from head to toe in corduroy that’s too big for him, a scarf that isn’t warm enough for the winter, and carrying little but a guitar case.

"It’s Everything An Indiana Jones Fan Would Want In A Game": Indiana Jones & The Great Circle Has Fans Amazed, Even With Some Of Its Quirks
Image
While Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was released too late to be considered for the The Game Awards 2024, the newest entry in the iconic action-adventure franchise is a hit with fans. The Xbox exclusive is the final major release of 2024 and has, so far, lived up to the excitement many had for a major Indiana Jones Aaa video game.

On the gaming subreddit, Redditor goldenboy2191 expressed their amazement at the game and how much fun it has been — even forgetting its title in their excitement. This sparked a conversation between players about what they liked, loved, and disliked about the game. However, most criticisms were presented as quirks that didn't stand in the way of enjoying Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Developed by MachineGames, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the first Indiana Jones game to be released since 2009's Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues.

10 War Of The Rohirrim Easter Eggs & Lord Of The Rings References
Image
This article contains spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is full of J.R.R. Tolkien Easter eggs. The movie, released in December 2024, is based on "The House of Eorl," a short story in Appendix A of The Lord of the Rings. It does not follow its source material to the letter but does drop intriguing references to the rest of The Lord of the Rings and the wider legendarium. The movie enjoys referring to Peter Jackson's Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies with smart callbacks, making its deep myth and legend known.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim movie is directed by anime legend Kenji Kamiyama, who also worked on Ghost in the Shell. It was about time Tolkien's high fantasy masterpiece was united with Japan's ancient animated art form.

Dragon Ball Daima Just Found a Way to Redeem Dbz’s Weakest Villains
Image
Dragon Ball Daima's first nine episodes have been a rollercoaster ride, introducing fans to a whole new side of the Dragon Ball universe while bringing back many elements from the original Dragon Ball and the early days of Dragon Ball Z. While fans predicted some of these returns before the show started to air, the ninth episode of Dragon Ball Daima featured a return that no one saw coming, the reintroduction of the Saibamen, Dragon Ball Z's weakest and most forgotten villains.

In the episode's final act, viewers return to Dr. Arinsu and Great Witch Marba. The pair are standing near the cauldron Arinsu added Buu's essence to during the last episode. After Arinsu notes that the green bubbling mixture "looks ready," Marba tips a green seed out of a jar. As she does, she mumbles, "Oh dear," before adding, "I used to have enough Saibamen seeds I could sell them to outsiders,...

Superman reportedly set for a few days of reshoots
Image
Earlier this year, James Gunn suggested that Superman wouldn’t need any reshoots, but it appears the cameras will be rolling once again. THR’s Heat Vision Newsletter states that “the movie will be doing a few days of additional shooting in Los Angeles in the near term” after recent test screenings.

For a film as big as Superman, a few extra days of reshoots are pretty minor, unlike some other comic-book movies I could mention. When Gunn was asked about possible Superman reshoots this summer, he said he’s “done a total of one day of reshoots on my past two films combined.“

I’m looking forward to seeing more from the film; hopefully, we may even see the first teaser trailer by the end of the year.

Two Point Museum Release Date, Platforms, Price, And Preorder Bonuses
Image
Two Point Museum is the third title coming from Sega's Two Point Studios, following Two Point Campus and Two Point Hospital. The chaotic and whimsical games are best known for their humor while providing players with a relaxed and cheerful take on the management sim genre. In Two Point Museum, players will find themselves taking on the role of an aspiring curator who is running not just one museum, but several, while also sending out teams to find exhibits to display and managing staff and guest expectations.

Screen Rant's hands-on preview of Two Point Museum found that the game "retains a lot of the core traits that made other Two Point titles so beloved while simultaneously iterating on ideas in interesting ways." Although Campus was met with some mixed receptions, developers seem to have taken feedback from that game to make Two Point Museum something that will work for everyone.

Dragon Ball: Every Time a Saiyan Transformed into a Great Ape
Image
Introduced in the very first arc of Dragon Ball, the Great Ape is an iconic transformation that turns a Saiyan into a giant monkey-like creature when in the presence of a full moon. Turning into a Great Ape increases the Saiyan's already formidable strength by 10. Using this form, the Saiyans could vanquish and take over many planets in the galaxy.

Series creator Akira Toriyama created the Great Ape to further parody the monkey-king Sun Wukong that served as Goku's transformation. While at first, the form was exclusive to Goku and made him more like a werewolf-like character, the form soon became a staple of Saiyan's biology. However, after the Saiyan Saga, the Great Ape transformation became far rarer because of Saiyans losing their tails.

Is Anyone Responsible For Their Actions In Lord Of The Rings? Free Will & Fate In Middle-Earth Explained
Image
The power of The Lord of the Rings as a story is heavily tied up in the concepts of fate and free will, prompting the question of whether anyone is actually responsible for their actions. The story is hung on the tension between a supportive goodness that sometimes seems inherent in Middle-earth and the danger, uncertainty, and seeming hopelessness of the road ahead. This tension creates the drama and suspense that makes the story tragic and sets up what Tolkien coined as eucatastrophe - the last-minute aversion of an apparently inevitable catastrophe. Eucatastrophe hit as the Great Eagles arrived, out of the blue, to rescue Frodo and Sam from the slopes of Mordor's Mount Doom.

If it was always clear to readers that all disasters in the story were meant to happen and were somehow ultimately good, while major travesties weren't possible due to a divine plan, some of the...
