It's officially almost time for new, sexy, and intriguing psychological thriller series, The Couple Next Door! The show stars Outlander's Sam Heughan, Jessica De Gouw, Alfred Enoch, and Eleanor Tomlinson.

The series premieres Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 on Starz (get all the watch details here!). As we gear up for the debut, Show Snob had the opportunity to speak with Heughan and De Gouw who play married couple Danny and Becka. The stars tease what we can expect from their characters, where the story goes, and whether they might appear in season 2. Either watch or read our interview below!

Outlander fans have one-and-a-half seasons of their favorite show left before it ends forever. The second half of season 7 premieres next month, while the eighth and final season will be along sometime after that.

With the series having been on for over a decade at this point, it's surreal to think about it ending, but the cast and crew have indeed finished shooting the final season, as star Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) said on a new episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast:

We shot our final episode – eight seasons, 101 episodes, 11 years, and I go back to work on Monday. We have to do a bunch of pickups. So, yeah, it's, it's been a rollercoaster. We're still a long way off.

Starz is heading down south with Uncle Clifford.

The Lionsgate-backed premium cable network has ordered Down in the Valley, a half-hour docuseries exploring the Deep South with P-Valley star Nicco Annan set to host. The six-episode series will launch at a date to be determined this year and explore the people, music, culture and stories of the South, per Starz, as the show will feature everything from strip clubs to sex workshops, rap performances and ancient hoodoo rituals.

The order for Down in the Valley arrives as P-Valley — from creator Katori Hall — has been off the air for nearly two years. Sources say production on P-Valley is expected to resume later this year, though the show is not expected to air in 2024.

Outlander‘s Sam Heughan is getting in the celebratory spirit as the SAG-AFTRA strike comes to an end. The actor known for playing 18th-century Highlander warrior Jamie Fraser took to Instagram to share his excitement. “The strike is over!!” he wrote. “Delighted to be able to work, promote and talk about Acting again…” he added before listing tags for his projects, Outlander, Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, and The Couple Next Door. The Starz series Outlander brought actors and Scotsmen Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish into each other’s lives, making them co-stars, friends, and travel partners. Since then, the duo have joined forces for another TV series, Men in Kilts, through which they go on epic adventures while immersing themselves in the landscape, history, and food and drink, first in Scotland for Season 1 and then in New Zealand for Season 2. And then, after they survive their time together in their camper van, they revisit it all for a companion book, which this time is called Clanlands in New Zealand: Kiwis, Kilts, and an Adventure Down Under.

Outlander may be off the air for an extended hiatus, but Sam Heughan has a delicious new role to sink his teeth into.

As previously reported, he will star opposite Eleanor Tomlinson in the Starz/Channel 4 series The Couple Next Door.

Exclusive: Ridley Scott’s Scott Free has appointed Elyse Seder as EVP and Head of Nonfiction and named EVP Marjorie Chodorov Head of Physical Production.

In the newly created role, Seder will oversee creative, talent and partnerships for nonfiction content. Scott Free has ventured into unscripted programming, most recently with the multi-part Still Missing Morgan for Hulu/ABC News this year, but the company hadn’t had a dedicated nonfiction executive or department in more than eight years. Seder’s hire marks an expansion into the arena.

Meanwhile, Chodorov will be in charge of all aspects of physical and post-production for Scott Free’s TV division. She has been with the company since 2021 as EVP Production, with her role now expanding to include nonfiction and international.

Both Seder and Chodorov will report to Scott Free’s Cco David W Zucker, President of Television Clayton Krueger and President of Film Mike Pruss.

A few days ago, an annual subscription to Starz cost $74.99; today, it’s $69.99. Existing subscribers were notified of the good news via email, and will see the price adjustment in their next billing cycle.

“As one of the few streaming networks that is profitable, we are always looking for ways to drive success for the business while providing great value to our customers,” Alison Hoffman, Starz president of domestic networks, said in a statement shared with IndieWire. “Our annual plan subscribers are some of our most valuable customers, so we wanted to find ways to drive more people into the plan and reward our existing customers.”

Outlander‘s Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are back together again for season two of Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham. Starz’s new season two trailer features the buddies exploring New Zealand and participating, however reluctantly on McTavish’s part, in extreme sports. The trailer also shows Sam and Graham having an awesome time, and even sitting down in a makeup trailer to have prosthetics applied.

Season two is set to premiere on Friday, August 11, 2023 at midnight Et on the Starz app and at 9:30pm Et/Pt on Starz. The new season will consist of four half-hour episodes.

Not only did Starz just confirm we’ll get more of Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish in Men in Kilts this August, the network also released the first photos from the upcoming second season of the buddy road trip series.

Season one debuted on Valentine’s Day 2021, and the four-episode second season will premiere on August 11, 2023.

According to Starz, season two will find the friends and Outlander stars traveling to New Zealand. Per Starz, the travel buddies adventures in the new season will include a thrilling zip line excursion that will spotlight the enduring friendship between the two men.

Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham was developed by show’s stars who serve as executive producers. Alexander Norouzi, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma, and Kevin Johnston also executive produce, with Johnston serving as director.

Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are hitting the road again this summer.

Starz has announced Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip With Sam and Graham will return with its second season this summer.

“Outlander” might be gearing up for its end, but everybody’s favorite dashing Highland warrior still has a home at Starz. Sam Heughan, the star of the channel’s smash-hit time-travel series, will star in the thriller series “The Couple Next Door” at the premium cabler.

The show, a co-production between Starz and Britain’s Channel 4, is adapted from the Dutch series “New Neighbours,” and stars Heughan as Danny, an “alpha traffic cop” married to glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw of “Pennyworth”). When a new couple moves in next door — Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson of “The Outlaws”) and Pete (Alfred Enoch of “Harry Potter” and “How to Get Away With Murder”) in their high-class suburban neighborhood, the foursome become fast friends, but tensions soon form. Graham McTavish recently finished filming the second season of Men In Kilts with his road-tripping partner and Outlander co-star, Sam Heughan. The actor can also be recently seen as Sigismund Dijkstra in The Witcher and HBO just has announced that House Of The Dragon will premiere in August 2022, where the Scottish star is among the cast.

The lovable craftsman has done a bit of everything, from appearing on screens both big and small, performing on stage, showing up in animation and video games, and even giving directing a go. He's been in several well-performing films over the years, including blockbusters, delivering a wide array of roles from dwarf to Atlantean king to boxing trainer and more.

Sam Heughan has already donned a superhero suit. Years ago, he played the Caped Crusader in a Cirque du Soleil-like stage show “Batman Live.” However, the “Outlander” star tells me on the latest episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast, he’s a little weary of what’s become of comic book movies.

“I’m excited about the new Batman movie. I think that looks fantastic,” Heughan says. “I think the other superhero movies kind of lost their way a bit. They’ve become, I think, a little too obese in a way, but anything character-based — I mean, Batman’s a great one because he’s not a superhero. He’s just an interesting character. Something with a good backstory.”

The Scottish actor also recalls his early days in the business when he made one of his first trips to Los Angeles to audition to play the Man of Steel in 2006’s “Superman Returns.

Exclusive: Graham McTavish has signed on to star in Somewhere in Montana, an upcoming indie from writer-director Brandon Smith that will go before cameras later this year.

In the film, the Scottish actor will play John Thomas, a ranch owner who allows a Hollywood production company to come and use his ranch as a location for their movie when he runs into financial difficulties. Eden Matson is exec producing for Nova Vento Entertainment.

Starzplay has greenlit a six-episode second season of hit travel documentary series “Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham,” featuring “Outlander” stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish. They will hit the road again, this time in New Zealand. Developed by Heughan and McTavish, the original series is produced by Boardwalk Pictures, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Heughan and McTavish conceived the original idea and serve as executive producers alongside Alexander Norouzi, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma and Kevin Johnston who also serves as director.

The first season saw Heughan and McTavish having an adventure in Scotland.
