A 1987 murder investigation concludes three decades later with revelations that dominated headlines.
On June 23rd 1987 Wendy Knell is beaten to death in her bedsit, a manhunt is launched. Five months later Caroline Pierce goes missing from the same neighbourhood in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Police suspect the same man may be responsible.
When Caroline's body is discovered 40 miles away on Romney Marsh, naked but for her tights, it is feared that a serial killer and sexual predator may be on the loose.
As pressure mounts on detectives, even those closest to the murdered women come under suspicion but the killer evades capture.
Two years on and nobody has been charged with the murders - Wendy and Caroline's friends and family struggle to come to terms with their deaths and the police are forced to scale back the investigation.
But behind closed doors the killer continues his sickening crimes and nobody is prepared for the atrocities that will be revealed in 2019 when police finally arrest the double murderer.

Thirty-two years on from the murders of Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce there is a break-through, when police re-examine the tights Caroline was wearing when her body was discovered.
Traces of semen match DNA found at the scene of Wendy's murder. For the first time police can prove that the same man is responsible for both deaths. But hopes are dashed when there is no match on the DNA database.
Then in 2020, a man on the database is revealed to be genetically linked to their suspect - after more than three decades they have the killer's name - David Fuller.
