Hilarie Burton said her One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray was one of the few who stood up for her against the show’s creator Mark Schwahn.

Burton and Murray played love interests Peyton Sawyer (Burton) and Lucas Scott (Murray) on the long-running US teen drama.

In 2017, Burton was among the 18 women One Tree Hill cast and crew members who claimed they had been sexually harassed by Schwahn.

The showrunner has never commented on the allegations and was fired from One Tree Hill that same year.

During the most recent episode of the Drama Queens podcast hosted by Burton’s One Tree Hill co-stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Sophia Bush, the actor was asked about her decision not to report Schwahn at the time.

“Oh, I did. I told all sorts of people. Honey, I told everybody,” Burton responded.

Burton wore a sleek black pantsuit covered in sequins; Lenz, a gold bow minidress; and Bush rocked a pinstripe suit.

As cohosts of "Drama Queens," a weekly "One Tree Hill" rewatch podcast, the actors have spent plenty of time together over the years, but this appearance marks the first time the three have posed on the same red carpet since 2005. In fact, Bush and Burton recently hung out in New York City, where they wore matching white power suits.

The show has cast Hilarie Burton in the guest starring role of Negan’s late wife. As such, she will be joining her real-life husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan who of course plays Negan. Burton will appear in bonus episodes adding on to the events of season 10, the finale of which was delayed by the pandemic.

News of Burton’s casting comes less than a month after AMC announced its historic zombie series will end after season 11. The final season will air over two years on the network, beginning in late 2021, and consist of 24 episodes in total.
