Nominees for the 12thAnnual Indie Series Awards were revealed Wednesday during a special episode of Serial Scoop Now hosted by actor and entertainer Jo Weil.

Anacostia and The Bay led the pack with 15 nominations each. They are joined in the Best Drama Series category by Arthur, Capital Roar, For the Record, Incompleteness, My Pride and Purgatory.

The comedies were led by The Amazing Gayl Pile: Last Resort with 14 nominations. They are joined in the Best Comedy Series category by Aidy Kane (Really Wants You to Love Him), Cady Did, Cam_Girlfriend, Claire-ity, The Communist's Daughter, Reality Sets In and Searching for Sylvie.

The growing audio fiction genre was added to the ceremony this year. The nominees for Best Audio Series are Around the Sun, Clutch: Chapter 3, Earth Eclipsed, Jack and Lou: A Gangster Love Story, The Ol' Timey Spectral Hour and Silva Lining's Care Plan.

"Great White" is a new 'survival' horror feature, directed by Martin Wilson, starring Katrina Bowden, Aaron Jakubenko, Tatjana Marjanovic and Kimie Tsukakoshi, releasing July 16, 2021:

"... a pair of seaplane lovers and operators, 'Kaz Fellows' (Bowden) and her boyfriend, 'Charlie Brody', along with their passengers, 'Joji Minase', his wife, 'Michelle' and cook 'Benny', take a flight to picturesque 'Hell's Reef'. 

"Upon landing they encounter a corpse that has washed up after a suspected shark attack. They report it to the coast guard but find the man's phone has a picture of his girlfriend.

"Benny and Charlie coax the others into tracking the yacht the couple were on in case she survived..."

Altitude Media Group, Chop Shop Post, and Thrills & Chills are trying to ruin our fun in the surf by releasing a new movie poster for their upcoming film, Great White. The poster depicts one of our heroines brandishing a signal flare mere feet from the gaping mouth of a ferocious great white shark. The poster is successful in portraying the vulnerability of open water as well as the helplessness of being in the presence of an apex predator.

The movie centers around a group of plane crash survivors who find themselves adrift in a lifeboat atop the vast sea. With a mayday call uncertain, they must last in the ocean until help can find them. While afloat, the diverse group are stalked by two hungry great white sharks and must survive their encounters with the creatures or risk becoming food for the largest predatory fish on Earth.

Cheese on Toast Productions will support organisation Suicide Prevention Australia for a charity event at Bondi Junction’s Event Cinemas with the final episode of SYD2030, a Sydney-based webseries about the lives of a group of university students. The event will be held on Thursday 16 August.

Cheese on Toast Productions together with Suicide Prevention Australia is proud to present the charity event screening of SYD2030 including the much anticipated VIP world première of episode 12 on the 16th of August 2012 in Eastern Sydney (of course)!

The 12-part webseries that depicts the lives and scandals of everybody’s favourite University of Eastern Sydney Law Students will be shown at Event Cinemas, Bondi Junction. The event will be hosted by Sydney’s funniest community radio hosts Dave and Neil from Alive 90.5. All the red carpet action kicks off at 7:00pm, where fans are invited to mingle with the cast and creators of SYD2030.
