A wonderful movie. I didnt expect anything but ended up enjoying one of the most beautiful love stories I´ve seen in months.
It is well done and very well acted but it's not a movie one specially enjoys while watching it. One really enjoys the movie while thinking about it. I think that the point is that it doesn't really matters who wrote him the letter. The thing is that the letter changes Don Johnston completely. I think that it is very important that Don doesn't even remember who was the woman who really wrote him the letter, but the trip makes him realize the empty life he has lived, the trip changes him completely, showing him the superficial bonds that he has been harvesting during his life. He really wants the letter to be true, he desperately wants that that guy to be his son, that there is some kind of fruit It's a great last days of a depressing don Juan, thinking at last from an existentialist point of view: What do I leave behind? Nothing but sex as an exercise. (I wouldn't mind some exercise with Sharon... but, of course, you don't became immortal because of this) Beautiful thought but good ideas doesn't always make great movies. Still, it's worth watching.
