Gene Simmons and his solo band kicked off their 2025 tour with gigs in Georgia and Kentucky, albeit the first was cut short due to weather.
Simmons and company only made it through six songs at the tour kickoff show on Friday (May 2nd) at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City, Georgia. The setlist opened with two Kiss classics, “Duece” and “Shout It Out Loud,” and Gene later ran through a cover of Van Halen’s “House of Pain” before the gig was called off due to heavy rain.

Hulu’s list of new releases for May 2024 is missing a certain amount of original series firepower. In the place of a blockbuster like The Handmaid’s Tale or Shōgun, however, is some content diversity.
The first of the month sees the premiere of four-episode British series Shardlake. This mystery drama takes place during the reign of Henry VIII and features none other than Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) investigating a murder. Other series of note this month include the Korean drama Uncle Samsik on May 15.
Movies are bit more interesting on Hulu in May. Teen comedy Prom Dates premieres on May 3. That will be followed by the 2023 Adam Drive film Ferrari on May 24. Before all that though is the real heavy hitter. You can watch Austin Butler’s acclaimed performance as The King in Elvis as early as May 1. Five years ago, Robert Fripp was still merely known as the legendary guitarist of prog-rock pioneers King Crimson. Fast-forward to the present, and he’s the guy who does kooky “Sunday Lunch” YouTube videos with his wife Toyah, so it wouldn’t exactly be a shock if he joined OnlyFans. Thankfully, though, a new video declaring as much is merely an April Fools’ joke.
The clip was posted on the 77-year-old Fripp’s Instagram page with the caption, “Robert has officially joined OnlyFans! Subscribe now for exclusive, jaw-dropping content you never knew you needed…” In the video, we see a naked Fripp seductively sitting on a staircase, with only his guitar strategically preventing things from getting X-rated.

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox kick it old-school with their latest “Sunday Lunch” performance. The married couple take on the Beastie Boys classic “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party).”

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox celebrated New Year’s Eve with a special “Sunday Lunch” performance of the Kiss song “Lick It Up.”

After a few weeks of revisiting past performances, Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox are back with a new “Sunday Lunch” cover song. The married couple take on The Hives’ “Hate to Say I Told You So” in the latest edition of their popular YouTube series.
While Robert and Toyah usually cover older material, “Hate to Say I Told You So” is becoming a classic itself, having been released more than 20 years ago. It remains the signature song for The Hives, the Swedish garage rockers who’ve now been around for 30 years as a band.
For this cover, both Robert and Toyah are dressed as bees (get it: hives!), with the King Crimson guitarist being pestered by his singer wife throughout the performance. A sign on their kitchen cabinets reads, “Fripp is ma honey bee.”

Country-pop star Carrie Underwood opened the first two shows of Guns N’ Roses ‘ 2023 North American tour, and she worked a handful of rock classics into her setlist on each occasion.
Underwood’s first support slot for Gn’R came this past Saturday (August 5th) in Moncton, New Brunswick, where she opened with Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” and played Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll,” and lastly and most notably, the Motörhead staple “Ace of Spades.”

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox usually cover a classic song on Sundays. But this time around they not only cover Cream, but also get covered in cream as they perform “Sunshine of Your Love.”
The fun-loving married couple pay homage to one of rock’s first supergroups — comprised of Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton, and Ginger Baker — by literally incorporating the band’s name into the performance. Toyah pours cream all over herself as she sings the song, and then friskily asks Robert to take off his guitar. She then hugs the King Crimson guitarist so that he gets covered in cream, as well.
Sexual innuendo aside, it’s another fun “Sunday Lunch” episode from Toyah and Robert as they prepare to hit the road in support of their popular YouTube series. The couple recently announced a fall tour of the UK, kicking off September 30th in Wimborne, and wrapping up October 29th in Birmingham.

After taking a month off from their “Sunday Lunch” performances, Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox are back with a rendition of the Joan Jett classic “Bad Reputation.”
The King Crimson guitarist and his vocalist wife play off the song’s theme, with Robert taking on the bad-guy role and Toyah pasting sticky notes with the word “Bad” all over his forehead. Along with her usual revealing outfit, Toyah is sporting a new hairdo that harkens back to her days as a new wave singer in the late ’70s and early ’80s.

The King Crimson guitarist and his vocalist wife play off the song’s theme, with Robert taking on the bad-guy role and Toyah pasting sticky notes with the word “Bad” all over his forehead. Shrek not only kicked off a beloved animated franchise, but it also featured a memorable soundtrack packed with amazing songs. Critically acclaimed upon release, the Oscar Award-winning film cleverly re-imagined fairy tales and gave them a distinctly millennial twist. Blending elements of modern popular culture with classic fantasy stories, Shrek has a timeless feel while also being firmly rooted in its own era. The soundtrack was a large part of the film's success, thanks to a selection of tunes ranging from oldies to modern rock hits. Shrek may be a product of its time, but its soundtrack remains popular even decades later.
Initially released as Shrek: Music from the Original Motion Picture, the first soundtrack album featured almost all the hits from the movie and also included a notable cut from the original score. By 2003, the RIAA had certified the album two times platinum, and it was nominated for the Best Compilation Grammy.

It feels just like last month we were complimenting Hulu on its true crime offerings. Well, with its list of new releases for February 2023, Hulu is staying in the true crime lane. Suppose that’ll happen when you push back the release date of a series or two.
February sees the arrival of three notable true crime series on Hulu. Taiwan Crime Stories premieres on Feb. 1 and presents four true tales from Taiwan’s criminal “dark underbelly.” That will be followed by ABC News Studios’ Killing County on Feb. 3. That three-episode series ponders the question “what happens when police kill?” The most interesting true crime offering premieres on Feb. 9. That’s when Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence College shares its four-episode saga of Larry Ray and the young college students he victimized.

Forty years after topping the charts with I Love Rock’n’Roll’s snarling menace, Jett is still rocking out. She talks about the sexism she faced, nurturing today’s female stars and her dad sneaking into her early gigs
When Joan Jett was 13 years old, she had her first lesson on the electric guitar her parents had given her for Christmas. “I went in there all excited and said to the teacher: ‘I wanna play rock’n’roll,’” she says. “And he said to me: ‘Girls don’t play rock’n’roll. Logan Paul is the latest YouTuber to be booted from The Masked Singer, a hit reality franchise born in South Korea whereby celebs compete in a singing competition while uproariously costumed from head to toe.
During his brief tenure on the series -- which is hosted by Nick Cannon (though Niecy Nash is filling in as Cannon recovers from Covid) and judged by Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Nicole Scherzinger -- Paul was disguised as a character named 'Grandpa Monster', and last night aptly performed Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation.” During yesterday's show, panelists incorrectly guessed that Grandpa Monster was quarterback Johnny Manziel, Jake Paul, Kevin Hart, and wrestler The Miz, reports The Wrap.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s episode of “The Masked Singer.”)
“The Masked Singer” Season 5 returned Wednesday with an episode featuring Group B’s second performances and the show’s second “Wildcard” round. And just like last week, the night’s surprise contestant came in and managed to steal the slot from an existing competitor. In this case, it was newbie Crab who got more votes than Grandpa Monster, who was thus eliminated from the competition and unmasked at the end of the episode.
Following last Wednesday’s inaugural “Wildcard” round for Group A — which now consists of Russian Doll, Seashell, Robopine (f.k.a. Porcupine) and Orca (who ousted Raccoon) — Group B’s remaining contestants Grandpa Monster, Chameleon, Black Swan and Piglet took the stage again.
They each gave their second performances in front of panelists Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as guest host Niecy Nash.

Logan Paul admits his experience on “The Masked Singer” got off to a rough start. Paul, who was the next celebrity to be unmasked on Wednesday’s episode of “The Masked Singer,” said learning to sing and dance at the same time for the show wasn’t exactly what he expected.
“I can barely sing, I’ve never performed in this way, let alone adding dancing to this,” said Paul, who performed as Grandpa Monster. “This is a nightmare. And it was at first, until I crossed that hump and really started falling in love with the show.”
But he recalled being “scared and hesitant” early on. “My PR team got the angry call, I was like, ‘this show is not for me I’m not good at it.

Described as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Joan Jett is one of the most iconic rock musicians of all time. She has the distinction of having played with two wildly popular bands — first, the Runaways and later, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts — and she’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the latter group. Three of the Blackhearts’ albums have been certified at least gold, with one going multi-platinum.

The most obvious point of comparison for “Suzi Q,” a new documentary about the pioneering 1970s rocker Suzi Quatro, is “Bad Reputation,” a two-year-old doc about Joan Jett. That’s not least of all because Jett is a frequent on-camera presence in the new movie, and comes off as such an acolyte of the woman who broke glass ceilings slightly before her, that you can almost imagine there’s some kind of “All About Eve” story in the wings. There doesn’t seem to be, although Quatro does mention with a hint of rue that when the other singer’s smash “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll” came out, people mistakenly congratulated her. In some sense, Quatro was Jett before Jett was really Jett — laying down the leather law when no female rocker had yet managed the combination of sex appeal and pure machisma.
Ultimately, though, Quatro comes off quite differently...

There is no doubt when you’re watching Tom Hardy that you’re getting 100% commitment from the actor.
