Gene Simmons and his solo band kicked off their 2025 tour with gigs in Georgia and Kentucky, albeit the first was cut short due to weather.

Simmons and company only made it through six songs at the tour kickoff show on Friday (May 2nd) at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City, Georgia. The setlist opened with two Kiss classics, “Duece” and “Shout It Out Loud,” and Gene later ran through a cover of Van Halen’s “House of Pain” before the gig was called off due to heavy rain.

The following night went better, with Simmons’ band running through the full setlist at the Beaver Dam Amphitheater in Kentucky. Billy Idol launched his 2025 North American tour with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on Wednesday (April 30th) at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix.

The outing, dubbed “It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again!,” is running in two legs, with the first one scheduled through a May 23rd show in Toronto. A second leg will launch August 16th in Philadelphia, and wrap up September 25th in Los Angeles. Tickets to both legs are available here.

Tilda Swinton’s feature directorial debut The Hexagonal Hive And A Mouse In A Maze, co-directed with Bartek Dziadosz, will world premiere in competition at Sheffield DocFest (June 12-17) as the full programme is unveiled.

The 109-strong line-up includes 48 world premieres, 14 international and 17 European.

Swinton and her co-director travel the world in The Hexagonal Hive And A Mouse In A Mouse to explore the concept of learning. The documentary was first introduced at Sheffield’s MeetMarket in 2018.

Five years ago, Robert Fripp was still merely known as the legendary guitarist of prog-rock pioneers King Crimson. Fast-forward to the present, and he’s the guy who does kooky “Sunday Lunch” YouTube videos with his wife Toyah, so it wouldn’t exactly be a shock if he joined OnlyFans. Thankfully, though, a new video declaring as much is merely an April Fools’ joke.

The clip was posted on the 77-year-old Fripp’s Instagram page with the caption, “Robert has officially joined OnlyFans! Subscribe now for exclusive, jaw-dropping content you never knew you needed…” In the video, we see a naked Fripp seductively sitting on a staircase, with only his guitar strategically preventing things from getting X-rated.

An accompanying URL (onlyfans.com/robertfripp) leads to a dead link, ultimately letting us know that it’s an April Fools’ Day prank. Whew!

It’s not the only fun new clip from Fripp.

While Robert and Toyah usually cover older material, “Hate to Say I Told You So” is becoming a classic itself, having been released more than 20 years ago. It remains the signature song for The Hives, the Swedish garage rockers who’ve now been around for 30 years as a band.

Following last Wednesday’s inaugural “Wildcard” round for Group A — which now consists of Russian Doll, Seashell, Robopine (f.k.a. Porcupine) and Orca (who ousted Raccoon) — Group B’s remaining contestants Grandpa Monster, Chameleon, Black Swan and Piglet took the stage again.

They each gave their second performances in front of panelists Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as guest host Niecy Nash.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 5, Episode 4 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired March 31 on Fox.

Logan Paul admits his experience on “The Masked Singer” got off to a rough start. Paul, who was the next celebrity to be unmasked on Wednesday’s episode of “The Masked Singer,” said learning to sing and dance at the same time for the show wasn’t exactly what he expected.

“I can barely sing, I’ve never performed in this way, let alone adding dancing to this,” said Paul, who performed as Grandpa Monster. “This is a nightmare. And it was at first, until I crossed that hump and really started falling in love with the show.”

But he recalled being “scared and hesitant” early on. “My PR team got the angry call, I was like, ‘this show is not for me I’m not good at it.

The most obvious point of comparison for “Suzi Q,” a new documentary about the pioneering 1970s rocker Suzi Quatro, is “Bad Reputation,” a two-year-old doc about Joan Jett. That’s not least of all because Jett is a frequent on-camera presence in the new movie, and comes off as such an acolyte of the woman who broke glass ceilings slightly before her, that you can almost imagine there’s some kind of “All About Eve” story in the wings. There doesn’t seem to be, although Quatro does mention with a hint of rue that when the other singer’s smash “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll” came out, people mistakenly congratulated her. In some sense, Quatro was Jett before Jett was really Jett — laying down the leather law when no female rocker had yet managed the combination of sex appeal and pure machisma.

There is no doubt when you’re watching Tom Hardy that you’re getting 100% commitment from the actor. However, that intensity of craft has left behind a reputation that the actor is “difficult,” with “Mad Max: Fury Road” proving to be one of the most public instances where his behavior on the set spilled into the public. During the Marvel Panel at Comic-Con, the studio screened some of the first footage from director Jon Watts' Spider-Man: Homecoming. The movie has only been in production for ten days, but they had already shot a good amount of footage involving some of Peter Parker's high school scenes. Of course, there were a few other shots of Tom Holland as Spider-Man in action.

We've heard a lot about how Watts was inspired by the films of John Hughes when developing the movie and that inspiration was exploding all over the screen when this footage screen in Hall H. It was just so wonderfully charming in every way and it's almost as if Hughes himself was actually directing the film.

Netflix is showing viewers more of its next superhero-themed series. The streaming platform released a new teaser trailer for Marvel's Jessica Jones on October 1, 2015.

Jessica Jones is based on the early-2000's Marvel comic book series Alias by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos and stars Krysten Ritter as the titular ex-superhero working as a private investigator on cases involving similarly super-powered beings. In the new teaser for the Netflix series (which also stars names like David Tennant and Carrie-Anne Moss of Matrix fame), viewers see Jones select Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” on a jukebox before walking across a bar full of beat-up foes and taking a shot of liquor.
