The plot, apparently simple, in fact is not simple at all. Nekro is not only entertainment, it is way more than that. It is cinema, you can see it, you can feel it, beautiful opening scenes, dream-like landscapes accompanied by the movie theme music in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene. This is the kind of movie that you will have to watch several times yet to be able to understand the message. Furthermore, once you get the message, you will need to find the key and be able to understand and unfold the connections between the events and characters that are evolving in two parallels worlds. Now, regarding David, all those visions, fears, is it for real or all this is just happening in his mind? Apparently George Santa has a telepathic communication, some sort of mental induction state from his mind to David's mind. At that time you will soon realize that we have entered a new dimension and have found ourselves in oneiric film context. Finally, once you got all those elements you will need to find the path, but bear in mind, there will be no return. Here, the equation is not at all mathematics; we are talking about symbolism, imagination and paranormal activity. Subsequently, all the elements of fear, suspense and emotion are crossing over your mind. The final conclusion is that Nekro-The Movie should be considered a cult film. Truly remarkable.

It's all very well created, beautiful yet intricate and illustrated film. Also the story is weird and creepy.

Obviously this movie has a completely different approach from other conventional Romanian films. This movie tells about the continuing struggle between good and evil, the fight that takes place both in the world that all we know and live and the world beyond death, where good ultimately will prevail but only after a supreme sacrifice. An elementary thing of this thriller is how the film was directed, to push your thoughts and imagination and leave us a total nebula.

I truly loved the negative Santa’s character (Stefan Sileanu). You can see and feel inside him the power and the creativity of a great actor. Congratulations to the whole team and especially to the one who managed to transfer us and make us live the main ideas of this thriller. Well done Nekro!

For me, this movie deserves definitely 10.

NEKRO, a suspense movie not to be missed, it is a great film, a deep thriller that thrills. You are taken on a voyage of discovery, the dark side of life. A forest, an isolated house, a hidden crimson room. Beautiful young women, murdered and violated wrapped in a red blanket, the signature of the killer? Who is the Beast? The Witch is that the scent of the Devil? Then there is the Colonel who pays the ultimate price, the life of his child, his own life, in the hope that in another place, another dimension, he can make Good conquer Evil. Is it real? Is it imagined? Often you think you know but then there is another twist, another turn in this complex plot and you wonder, what you should believe, what can you believe. Brilliant! This is a must have film, on one viewing you cannot absorb the mastery of the plot, the depth of the characters, the complexities of the paranormal, nor the depth of the questions it asks.

Without a doubt the first quality thriller to see the light of day in Romania, with famous Romanian actors and the gorgeous landscapes of the Carpathian mountains. This movie is among the best, a benchmark, truly ahead of its time. The final message ? One of the coming to light, a battle against darkness, against the foulness that always comes back to test us. One can appreciate also that this movie was shot in 35mm, taking advantage of this medium to render thrilling and mysterious light atmospheres. The camera moves are taking us into moments of hectic action, as well as contemplative tableau, with an overall good rhythm. Concerning the scenario, based on a true story that took place in the 1980's, it has the advantage to dig into contemporary issues of psychology and spirituality, expressing the crisis of value that humanity is struggling with.

Nekro is part of the mystery, psychological and strange film category. It's a must-see and a must have film for those seeking a deeper explanation of this kind. The director addresses a highly sensitive issue, not subject to time limits and virtually opens up a gateway by crossing into another world, most likely by opening the doors of darkness. What a nice subtle fusion between shots and sequences with sound, music and atmosphere! The movie contains also a sequence with a very nice music video. As the film progresses, it becomes more exciting and full of suspense, with moments of great power. Despite the complexity of the large theme, "the psychological universe", which addresses, Nekro remains a positive bright film. It's amazing how a penetrating and provocative film like Nekro does not propose to judge things. The characters evolve in an enigmatic and timeless world. Unfortunately, there is a sequence where you can spot the Director of Photography (Marian Stanciu) in a mirror while shooting, too bad. Although Nekro is a complex movie and requires all your attention to watch, it is one of the most interesting films that I've seen. This movie has its own unique style and that's the reason why it still keeps coming back on my mind, in other words, true cinema.
