'Classified' is Streaming Hit on Paramount+ Despite 0% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Classified is one of the biggest movies on Paramount+ right now, but the action movie starring Aaron Eckhart and Tim Roth is a terrible turn by the former comic book movie stars to almost everyone who has watched it. In the latest contradiction to hit the streaming world, Classified is one of several movies that no one has anything good to say about that has managed to find itself being watched more than highly praised films such as A Quiet Place: Day One.

Action movies are released thick and fast these days, and there is a good reason for that. They are always an incredible draw for audiences. Classified is a very good example of that, but despite having two well-known stars leading it in Eckhart and Roth, the film is so far packing nothing more than a 0% score from critics and an equally terrible 7% from audiences. The synopsis for...

‘Marvel’s Inhumans’ IMAX Review: The Worst Thing Marvel Has Done In Decades
Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, and Iwan Rheon in Inhumanos (2017)
Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. is not exactly a popular time to see a movie, but at the AMC Century City Imax theater, there were a total of four people sitting in the audience to catch the first two episodes of ABC’s “Marvel’s Inhumans.” All of them purchased their tickets less than an hour before showtime.

Just a few days earlier, the same theater had still been screening Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk,” the meticulously made and visceral World War II drama that’s become a box office success and an awards season contender. Based on both this weekend’s disappointing box office reports and even worse initial reviews, “Marvel’s Inhumans” will not be remembered for either of those qualities.

“Inhumans” was a given a special theatrical release in IMAX, a new sort of effort to somehow blend the line between what we consider TV and film. While film lives on TV,...

Inhumans Could Crossover With Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Love them or loathe them, Marvel’s Royal Family are bound for television in the form of Inhumans, an eight-part series that staged its world premiere via IMAX just yesterday. From there, and following a two-week spell in theaters, Black Bolt and the gang will uproot for ABC, where Scott Buck (Iron Fist) and Roel Reiné’s lavish drama will occupy a Friday night slot. But where the show might head after that is currently up in the air.

And that’s because so far, both fans and critics have been thoroughly unimpressed with what seems to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first major misfire. Scrutinized almost right from the start, the first wave of reviews have not been too kind, as Fandom called the series “largely stripped of personality or flair,” while Newsarama considers it “aimless and bleached-out” and decrees it “Game of Thrones-lite.”

Perhaps most damning of all,...

Marvel's Inhumans review
Don Kaye Sep 29, 2017

A month ago, our Us chums saw a preview of the first two Inhumans episodes on an IMAX screen and the results... weren't pretty.

Inhumans, a new series from Marvel Television, has taken a strange path to the public: a shortened version of the first two episodes in the series arrived on the 1st of September for a limited run in IMAX theaters around the Us, before the show premiered on ABC (which, like Marvel, is owned by Disney) on September the 29th for an eight episode stretch. The saga of the Inhumans in the Marvel Comics universe is decades-long and twisty, as most long-running comic book creations are; but their history on the large and small screen, while shorter, is equally complicated.

Inhumans Reviews: Marvel’s Adaptation Of The Royal Family Is “A Visual Bust”
Force Friday II may be stealing headlines left, right, and center with its exhaustive lineup for toys and goodies inspired by Star Wars and, in particular, The Last Jedi, but September 1st heralds the arrival of another geek-friendly product: Marvel and ABC’s Inhumans.

Beginning today, the long-anticipated adaptation of Marvel’s Royal Family will screen in select IMAX theaters, before the eight-part drama uproots for ABC, where it’ll join Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., towards the end of the month. That IMAX stint will last for around a week, before the arrival of New Line’s It adaptation, which is currently riding the crest of a wave.

Sadly, the opposite is true for Marvel’s Inhumans. Truth be told, the series has struggled to escape criticism since its inception – despite the best efforts of its cast – and there is now a general feeling of indifference looming over Attilan. Don’t believe us?...

The Director of Inhumans Talks About Directing Medusa's Hair and Pushing The VFX Limits
I honestly never in a million years would have thought that I would be writing so damn much about the hair of a character in any kind of film or TV series. Yet, here I am. Medusa's hair in Marvel's Inhumans series has caused quite a stir among fans.

A lot of fans hate what they've seen from the hair, while others aren't too critical about it. One thing is for sure, there was actually a lot of work and effort that went into trying to pull off Medusa's hair in the series... before we saw that they drastically changed it as seen in one of the latest TV spots.

During a recent interview with Independent, director Roel Reiné discussed what went into directing the hair, and the effort they put into trying to get it right. He explained:

"I see all the shots and then make notes. I pitch them the ideas,...

‘Marvel’s Inhumans': Director Roel Reine and Cinematographer Jeff Jur on Filming in IMAX
One of the big reasons I’m excited to see the first two hours of Marvel’s Inhumans is the production shot the pilot using IMAX cameras. As a huge fan of the format, I can’t wait to see the action come to life on their massive screen. Back when the show was filming earlier this year in Hawaii, I was able to visit the set with a few other reporters where we did a group interview with director Roel Reine and cinematographer Jeff Jur during a break in filming. They talked about if they had any extra challenges …...

Marvel’s Inhumans Shot On “Tight” Schedule; Director Recalls Challenges Of Working With IMAX Cameras
Love them or loathe them, Marvel’s Royal Family are bound for television in the form of Inhumans, an eight-part series set to stage its world premiere via IMAX on September 1st.

From there, and following a two-week spell in theaters, Black Bolt and the gang will uproot for ABC, where Scott Buck (Iron Fist) and Roel Reiné’s lavish drama will occupy a Friday night slot. Indeed, it was the latter director who helmed the show’s opening two episodes, and with the Inhumans IMAX premiere right around the corner, Reiné spoke to CNET (via Cbm) about everything from the super-tight production schedule – Marvel’s freshman series primarily shot in Hawaii, while vast interior sets were used to replicate the city of Attilan – to what it was like operating under Marvel producers.

First up, it seems that the show’s cinematic aspirations left Inhumans struggling to meet deadlines:

“I...

Director for Inhumans Not Surprised About Negative Reaction To Their First Trailer
With Marvel's Inhumans less than a month away from their IMAX release, there are definitely a lot of mixed reviews about what we have seen so far in two trailers. The first trailer was released back in June and the second one premiered at Comic-Con last month. Leading the cast of the Royal Family are Black Bolt played by Anson Mount, Maximus played by Iwan Rheon and Medusa played by Serinda Swan. Audiences on YouTube were not too kind to the first trailer as it racked up over 38,000 dislikes.

Director of for ABC's Inhumans Roel Reine talked to Metro.co.uk about the negative reactions to the first trailer. Surprisingly, he wasn't too excited about the trailer either. He says:

"I was mixed about the first trailer as well. I felt like it didn’t give you the scope, it didn’t give you a lot of secrets or visual effects.

Inhumans Director Didn’t Like First Trailer Either; Producer Says Show Is Still “Work In Progress”
Unfortunately for Marvel, the early buzz on their latest show, Inhumans, has been far below their usual high standard. Ever since the first images and trailer for the series debuted online, fans have ripped into it for poor effects, set design, costuming and more. Apparently, it’s not just the viewers who feel this way, either, as a couple of people behind the scenes have also admitted that the show is still working out its kinks.

Firstly, Roel Reine – who directed the first two episodes of the season – spoke to Metro and revealed that he was just as dissatisfied with the initial trailer as the fans were.

“I was mixed about the first trailer as well. I felt like it didn’t give you the scope, it didn’t give you a lot of secrets or visual effects. I felt it was a little bit too early because the visual...

Attilan Royalty Takes Center Stage In The Latest Character Posters For Marvel’s Inhumans
Marvel and ABC’s eight-part Inhumans series is now teetering on the verge of its IMAX premiere – September 1st is the date for your diaries – though it’s fair to say that excitement for Marvel’s Royal Family has been tempered by lukewarm reviews and other criticisms.

However that may be, the Powers That Be are still pulling out all the stops to ensure Inhumans enjoys the biggest premiere possible, with today heralding the arrival of seven – count ’em, seven – character posters that gather together all of the core members of Attilan. Conspicuous by his absence? Iwan Rheon’s Maximus. The former Game of Thrones actor recently conceded that he was somewhat hesitant about signing on to play the younger, unruly sibling to Anson Mount’s Black Bolt, and if SpoilerTV’s damning review of the pilot is anything to go by, Rheon’s initial fears may well turn out to be true.
