For those ppl, he is one of the director whose movie has been shortlisted in Times Best 100 movies in the 20th century ('Nayagan')..

His wife Mrs.Suhasini told in another talk show, 'Miramax' Hollywood Production house had approached this director to direct a movie.

This happens not by luck, chance. But, purely by his talent!! Thalapathi is one of his Masterpiece creations. With good cinematography by Santhosh Sivan and good music by Illayaraja

Movie can be translated to 'Money is God'. There is a large family and person in the family(Hero- Muthuraman) loves a girl (Lakshmi), who join as servant maid. He needs money and the way they(Muthuraman, his friend Srikanth and heroine) go for Gold is by through arranging a fake Godman(Thengai Srinivasan, who speaks funky tamil language). Watch it, for the way the person to be cheated (Manorama) and other mentioned actors performances.

Heads or Tails..? A strong/arrogant Woman, takes control of a family, by making her Son-in Law (Gemini Ganesan) nod for everything she says...His brother Jai Shankar, with the help of a mysterious Rikshawman (Nagesh) tries to change things and enter into a bet with the Woman.

I am not sure of the woman's name, but her performance was great along with other actors..

Why is in the list? It's funny, and for the first time a woman was shown as a villanous character in Tamil cinema..

comic...4 characters..kamal...kamal..kamal and kamal...!! Homework and differentiation between the characters is awesome..Singitham Srinivasn has directed this one and it's one of his many good movie colloborations with Kamalhasan

He deserved it; Rajini...After so many years in Tamil industry and ruling box offices, being humble all the way, he deserved the title..

laugh riot..inspired from a hindi movie (which starred amir and salman khan together), which might in turn would have got inspired by any english movie..anyhow, this movie is good...so much confusions, music, acting everything is good and funny..

Goundamani, would have not kicked Senthil's ass for the first time, after sharing so much screen space ... (Laurel & Hardy of tamil cinema). Sundar. C direction..

love by a lightning..Harris Jeyaraj, the music director was introduced with Gowtham Vasudev Menon, the director...The two are ruling for a decade...

Thamarai, a first female lyricist also got introduced in this movie..She has written songs for many movies to come...

Muthuraman, Ravichandran, Balayya, Nagesh...Why am I leaving female actors..? Not that, I am prejudiced, but most films probably had much to do with male actors...!:(

It's a comic movie...Good one ! Music score by blockbuster duo Viswanathan&Ramamoorthy is evergreen..

Actress Sachu's dance moves with Nagesh is noteworthy...

This is for Vijay, the ACTOR and actress Shalini, directed by Fazil...A romantic tale, whose title roughly translates to 'Respecting Love', which tells story about a Christian Girl, a normal Hindu guy; how they fall in love with each other and the problems, they are facing with their families..

p.s: why did I put 'actor' in caps...this fellow in his later years tortured us the tamil fans continuosly, with same stories and different/excess ingredients of Masala( which in cinematic terms, translates to couple of songs in foreign locations with heroines, beating up of the villains, flying cars, SPEAKING nonsensial PUNCH DIALOGUES (- ex: life is a square, for which his opponent actor Ajith will counteract by saying life is a circle..!!!!! ##$$%(cough, sputter, spit)) and some comedy to complete the masala ingredients...)

a love story directed by a good actor Balaji Sakthivel...Couple of music scores are pretty good in this movie...

music: ar rahman, direction: maniratnam combo, it's like ordering popcorn with pepsi/coke...it's a good entertaining combo..

the movie is different...there are too many flying things in this movie! (cars, bullock carts, scooter, lorry, actors) ..it's total fun to watch this kind of things ..

but if you ignore the above con, this movie is watchable...a hollywood kind of movie, might have been inspired..

this movie marked the colloboration of Ram Gopal Varma/Maniratnam and one more bigwig in Indian industry for screenplay/production...

and the finance minister role is clearly inspired by P.Chidambaram..one of rare kinds in Indian cinema, to portray a real life politician, as part of characterization...

It's overall a Heist Drama..It happens or shown very rarely in Tamil Cinema.. Guess, 'Nanayam' was the only one to come after this, with this theme..

conclusion: not intelligent enough film makers.

father/child(girl) relationship from her childhood days till she gets married...! An emotional, lovable story...

Director Radha Mohan and actor/producer Prakash Raj are one among many good combos Tamil industry has seen..All their movies, except for recently released, 'Gowravam' had been hits and critically acclaimed.

If I don't tell Actress Trisha's performance, I will become male prejudiced! She has been a heart throb for almost a decade. From Leysa Leysa till Vinnaithandi varuvaya, she has acted in many good movies; unfortunately if Hollywood film industry has actress portrayed as Sex material, Tamil/Telugu/Hindi industry reduce woman to dummy material with skin show and glamour; this part which I am not liking in movies across.

This movie might have some purchased material from some industry in some part of the world...But overall, it's action, intense drama...Actor Aarya, director Vishnuvardhan combination is a hit so far..

'Why this Kolaveri' actor's best performance till date...It's an emotionally touched story, of how a wife can inspire her husband...Actress Richa, Actor Dhanush and Director Selva Raghavan's euphoria.

p.s: waiting for one such wife, though I am not that kind of a husband..!! :P

a story inspired by kandhahar flight hijacking..Actor Prakash raj, director radha mohan's combination continued in this movie with a different tale..

ask about 'dancing maharaja' in japan..! He is a superstar there too..

Sarath Babu, Rajni, Shobhana all gave some memorable performances in this movie..It's simple and pleasant one.

Rajini was an actor initially, before he became superstar!! A PROOF .

Evergreen lovable movie marked by remarkable performances.

Haven't yet seen the movie. But, heard it's a good one!:)
