The film was shot back to back with its prequel Los tres mosqueteros: D'Artagnan (2023) for a total shoot of 150 days that started on August 16, 2021 and wrapped on June 3, 2022.
In Germany the first movie Los tres mosqueteros: D'Artagnan (2023) flopped so hard, the local distributor Constantin cancelled the theatrical release of this film and released it straight to video.
WILHELM SCREAM: when a soldier falls to the ground during the fight at the citadel.
This is the fourth collaboration between actors François Civil and Lyna Khoudri in a span of a year, and one of three films released in 2023 in which they played a couple - the others were Los tres mosqueteros: D'Artagnan (2023) and Un lugar por el que luchar (2023). Civil and Khoudri had also worked together on the French dub of the animated film Lightyear (2022). Despite co-starring in popular films and box office hits with big budgets in a short span of time, Civil and Khoudri didn't do any magazine cover nor photoshoot together to promote these films, which was a very unusual thing since both of them are very popular actors in France and have stated in interviews that they're close friends, and actors who play a couple in one or more films usually do at least one photoshoot together to promote their film(s), which didn't happen with Civil and Khoudri. No official reason was given for that, and they only did press junket interviews together. However, during the promotion of The Three Musketeers: Milady, Civil and the other actors who played the musketeers in this film did a photoshoot with Eva Green, and right after 'Milady' was released in December 2023, both Civil and Khoudri appeared on magazine covers with their respective co-stars from other films.
François Civil (D'Artagnan) and Ralph Amoussou (Hannibal) had previously co-starred in Omar (2009) (in which they played a couple), and in Nos résistances (2011) (as members of the French Resistance in World War II).
