

The red carpet preshow for MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards is officially underway.
The preshow special, hosted by Dometi Pongo, Kevan Kenney and Nessa, airs live on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pt on MTV, MTV2, CMT and Logo. It is also being streamed live on MTV’s YouTube channel. The preshow will also feature a special performance by the K-pop group Le Sserafim.
The girl group, a first-time VMAs nominee, will be making their U.S. awards show debut during the preshow. They recently released their fourth mini album Crazy and scored their second Billboard Hot 100 hit with its title track.

Some very big stars will take the stage to present awards at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards next week!
The annual awards show will take place on Wednesday (September 11) at the Ubs Arena.
On Friday (September 6), MTV revealed the list of presenters as well as the hosts of their pre-show and the stars who will perform from the Extended Play Stage during the show.

Exclusive: BET and CBS News have announced the Season 2 renewal of primetime monthly newsmagazine America in Black. Featured on BET, Paramount+ and CBS News streaming, America In Black focuses on investigative reporting, newsmaker interviews, human interest stories and celebrity profiles.
In Season 1, America In Black explored Black maternal mortality with an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, reported on the war on Black history and looked at the amputation epidemic among Black Americans. It also featured profiles and interviews with Michael B. Jordan, LL Cool J, Taraji P. Henson, T.D. Jakes and others.
In the new season, veteran BET News anchor Ed Gordon will return to the network after an 18-year hiatus as special correspondent. CBS Mornings host Vladimir Duthiers and special correspondent Soledad O’Brien also will join America in Black this season.
The second season premieres during Black History Month with two episodes on Tuesday, February 6 and Tuesday, February 20 on BET at 10:30 Pp.

MTV has announced the first round of presenters who will take the stage at the 2023 Video Music Awards, taking place on Tuesday, September 12. Pop star Bebe Rexha; social media figures Charli D’Amelio and Dixie D’Amelio; R&b singer Coco Jones; model and actress Emily Ratajkowski; rappers French Montana, GloRilla and Ice Spice; Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto; actress Madelyn Cline; British singer Rita Ora; and singer-actress Sabrina Carpenter will be present at the 40th annual event.
In addition, the network announced a few more performers who will appear at the VMAs: Kaliii, Renee Rapp and The Warning will perform on the Extended Play Stage. The world premiere on Wednesday of Paramount’s long-awaited Top Gun: Maverick will be livestreamed on YouTube.
The video platform announced the venture at an event in New York kicking off the NewFronts.
Along with the Top Gun premiere, YouTube also announced a Bridgerton event featuring one of its creators, Jackie Aina, interviewing Pat McGrath about her makeup line tied to the hit Netflix series. The tie-in extends an effort by Netflix to develop additional revenue for the Shonda Rhimes show, whose second season is the most-viewed English language series in Netflix history.

MTV is expanding its “True Life” franchise with the upcoming docuseries “True Life Crime,” which is set to debut on the Viacom cable network in January.
Led by Dometi Pongo of MTV News, “True Life Crime” will investigate the “shocking and haunting crimes committed against young people,” according to MTV’s description of the series, “daring to ask unanswered questions that expose the truth.”
The eight-episode series is set to premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt. It is produced by Left/Right, Karga 7 Pictures and ITV America’s Good Caper Content for MTV.
