He is a member of Korean band 'SS501'.

Kim Hyun-joong is a practicing Roman Catholic and enjoys a good reputation as a philanthropist, supporting many causes including national disaster relief efforts in other countries.

He can play many different instruments, such as guitar, piano, bass guitar, drums.

Hyun-joong is well-known for being a very heavy sleeper, and is able to sleep almost anywhere. He is known to be very difficult to wake up once asleep.

He was ranked very highly in school before leaving to pursue a career in music. He was adept in mathematics and art, and wanted to be a scientist as a child. He went back to school as an adult and earned his Stage Production management qualification from Chungwoon University in 2012, and studied Applied Music at Kongju Communication Arts University.

I want to be the happiest person today. The reason is that I spend every day happily while thinking I may not be alive tomorrow. Maybe if I go home today, I might fall from the stairs, or suddenly get hit by a stone. I don't know what might happen, so I am the type that lives in the present moment happily.

Success comes from stubborn perseverance and the tenacity not to admit defeat.

During that period of time [filming Boys Over Flowers], one side of my socks would always lost. In the 5 months of the filming, there are many times I can't find a matching pair to wear

[on SS501] Even if I was offered 100 billion, I still would not join other groups. I think it is predestined that we meet and that is more valuable than 100 billion. It is because the 5 of us are forever as one.

You only have one chance in life. Live hard and earn fame, help the poor and be respected.
