‘Supergirl: World of Tomorrow’ locks June 2026 release date
Image
Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Films may currently be in production on the first of the studio’s rebooted and reimagined superhero franchise pictures, but that doesn’t mean executives can’t make announcements about the second one.

“Supergirl: World of Tomorrow” will hit theaters (and IMAX) on June 26, 2026, as per reports. Milly Alcock, the 24-year-old Australian actress, will play Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El, also known as Kara Danvers, the cousin of Kal-El, the Last Son of Krypton, also known as Kal-El, also known as Clark Kent, also known as Superman. Kara Zor-El, by the way, should not be confused with Kara Zor-l, also known as Karen Starr, also known as Power Girl, who is also Superman’s cousin, but, like, from a different universe. It’s complicated. Alcock is best known for the part of Young Rhaenyra Targaryen in “House of the Dragon.”

The film, directed by...

Power Girl Reveals New Name Now She's Officially Part of the Superman Family
Image
Power Girl has a new identity as Dr. Paige Stetler, the Daily Planet’s newest tech columnist, showcasing her dedication to saving the world both in and out of costume. Power Girl’s new role aligns her with the rest of the Superman Family, as they all take a more active role in shaping the world beyond fighting villains. With her scientific prowess and commitment to sustainability, Power Girl’s new identity as Dr. Paige Stetler allows her to distinguish herself from Supergirl and further establish her own unique place within the DC Universe.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Power Girl #1Out of many heavy hitters within the Superman Family, Power Girl’s place in the world has always been one of the most mercurial. As an older multiversal variant of the beloved Supergirl, Power Girl — once known as Kara Zor-l — has often been treated as Supergirl-lite both within continuity and by DC Comics.

Power Girl Art Charts Every Costume on Journey to Joining the Superman Family
Image
An amazing new cover art is showing off Power Girl's complex journey through costumes. With the hero's new series on the horizon, a variant is showing the long strange trip it's been for PG (and the amazing looks she's had during it).

In DC Comics' solicitations for its upcoming releases for September, fans got a look at the covers for the debut issue of Leah Williams, Eduardo Pansica, and Julio Ferreira's Power Girl. In addition to covers that show off Power Girl's new look, one cover by Otto Schmidt shows off nearly every costume the hero has ever worn. 38 variants of Power Girl are shown, each with their own unique outfit. Some are spins on Power Girl's classic white outfit with a cape and shoulder strap. Others are slight tweaks on her Atlantean costume or the outfit she wore as part of the Birds of Prey. There are...

Superman and Lois Can Still Bring Back Melissa Benoist as Power Girl
Image
Superman & Lois is continuing for another season, relieving the fears of many fans who were worried over its potential cancellation. Outside the potential threat of the villainous Lex Luthor, it's somewhat unknown where exactly the show will go for what could become its final season. Nevertheless, there's still one heroine who's yet to be introduced into the series' canon, despite the series being a spiritual spinoff of her own.

Melissa Benoist portrayed Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl in the eponymous Arrowverse TV series, with this show being the heroine's most iconic adaptation. Supergirl is now over, however, along with the Arrowverse as a whole. Superman & Lois isn't in the same world as Supergirl, but there's still a way for Kara -- or at least a familiar version of her -- to fly into the series' canon. Here's how Power Girl can finally get her due in what could be The CW's final DC adaptation.

As part of DC Comics' May offerings, the brand-new, one-shot story Power Girl Special #1 is set to give Karen Starr the attention she deserves. Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen Actually Likes One Hero Better
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for DC's Harley Quinn Romances #1!He may be one of the biggest Superman stans in the DC Universe, but Jimmy Olsen thinks that one hero is better than the Man of Steel. DC's Harley Quinn Romances #1 reveals who's claimed the top spot for Olsen's favorite hero.

While Superman is one of the most beloved heroes in the Dcu, there's no bigger fan of the Big Blue Boy Scout than Jimmy Olsen. Not only is Jimmy Superman's pal, he's also Clark Kent's longtime co-worker. For years, Jimmy has assisted the Last Son of Krypton, largely unaware that his idol is his fellow Dailey Planet employee. To say that Olsen admires Superman is an understatement, as the photographer has followed the hero on some crazy adventures. He even has a watch that can signal Superman whenever Olsen is in need of help or just desires a friendly chat.

Power Girl's New Suit Finally Adds Her Missing Superman Family Symbol
Image
Warning: Potential Spoilers for Action Comics #1051After all these decades, Power Girl is finally getting a costume that includes the Superman Family's famous S-shield symbol. Artist Marguerite Sauvage recently posted new character designs on social media, including sleek new looks for Power Girl and the former Teen Titan, Omen. Both designs will be featured in an upcoming Action Comics story.

In posts to both Twitter and Instagram, Marguerite Sauvage—the artist for Power Girl's upcoming Action Comics story—revealed her brand-new character and costume designs for both Power Girl and Omen. Omen retains her usual green and black color scheme, but switches from her robe to a bodysuit with a jacket. Power Girl's new suit has some extremely notable changes: in addition to her new white pants, Karen Starr now also sports a jacket. Like many of the new Super-Family designs, the jacket is bright red with a large gold S-shield on the back,...

Power Girl Cosplay Proves DC's Forgotten Kryptonian Deserves Better
Image
DC's Power Girl is one of the company's rarely-used yet popular characters, and the latest Kryptonian fan-created cosplay proves it. Kara Zor-l's origin changes repeatedly, her character is well-recieved but isn't a major player in any crossover events, and she often disappears from the DC universe entirely for years at a time. But while DC often forgets the character and how to use her in stories, fans stand up to fill in the gaps.

Power Girl's history is inextricably tied with Supergirl; in a technical sense, Kara Zor-l is Kara Zor-El, but hails from another universe. The 1985 series Crisis on Infinite Earths, created in part to clean house and streamline DC's continuity, unfortunately did little to simplify the situation. Power Girl has since adopted a third name (Karen Starr), a human secret identity, and had multiple titular series, but the character is still considered a B or C-list superhero in...

Comics: DC's New Power Girl Gets Something Off Her Chest
Say goodbye to Power Girl's enormous cleavage window as DC Comics has handed over the role of Power Girl to Tanya Spears and that part of the costume would come off as inappropriate on the teenager. Oh yeah, she also gets pants! Nice, I like pants. You can check out more of Tanya's Power Girl in the February’s Teen Titans #7. Let me know what you think of Power Girl's new costume in the comment section. I also transcribed DC Comics' promotion for Power Girl, which you can read below. First appearing last May in World's Finest #23, Tanya was an intern for Starr Industries, run by Karen Starr-The Kryptonian Power Girl of Earth 2-but after an explosion in the lab that returned the original Power Girl to her world, Tanya awoke to find she'd inherited some new abilities. New powers (and a huge check from her predecessor...

Mindy Newell: Life…
Last week’s column didn’t happen because I received a phone call at about 10 A.M. last Sunday from my mom. My dad was having another “episode,” his third. Meaning his brain was short-circuiting once more. It’s called “complex partial seizure disorder,” for the medically less-literate out there. No one really knows why this is happening to him; before this started last Christmas Eve, he was in remarkable health for a man of 90. The only drug he took on a regular basis was one of the statins –anti-cholesterol drugs – and that was on a preventative basis. His blood pressure runs about 110/70, his heart rate about 65; his only major medical problem has been the deterioration of his eyesight because of macular degeneration and he was responding remarkably well to the treatment. Yes, he had had prostate cancer, but that was 30 years ago, and when his Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) level rose,...

Power Girl Faces Breast Cancer
DC Comics today announced that, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Power Girl would develop breast cancer and undergo chemotherapy.

In her secret identity as Karen Starr, Power Girl will discover a lump in her breast while taking a shower. It has not yet been explained how her Kryptonian invulnerability will affect her treatment.

In a statement, DC co-publisher Dan Didio said, “We are proud of our outreach to female readers, and this is our way of showing that we value them, that we care about their well-being. Yes, Power Girl will lose her hair, and the chemotherapy will eat away at her super strength. But instead of defeat, she will keep her mental strength, her determination, and the very things that make her a hero.”

The issue, Power Girl #1, by the Red Hood and the Outlaws team of Scott Lobdell and Kenneth Rocafort, goes on sale...

DC New 52: Every Line Ranked From Worst To Best
On August 31st of last year, DC Comics released Flashpoint #5 and Justice League #1. With those two comics, the New 52 was launched.

It has been one year since then and a lot has changed for DC. They got a new logo, cancelled a few titles and replaced those titles. But it is now time to take a look back at the the DC New 52 year one and rank those comics. Enjoy!

57. The Savage Hawkman

My only prior exposure to Hawkman was his appearances on Smallville. He seems like an awesome character with a dense and convoluted history. In recent years, DC has tried to retcon all of his past versions into one.

The Savage Hawkman starts with Carter Hall trying to destroy the Nth metal armor that make him Hawkman. But something goes wrong and the Nth metal becomes part of him and can appear whenever he needs it. That is...

In a lengthy interview with Newsarama (which you can find by clicking Here), writer James Robinson has revealed new details about "Earth 2" as well as a first look at the younger Jay Garrick, who some readers may remember as the elderly Golden Age Flash. During the course of their conversation, he revealed that the upcoming series is a complete reboot of the universe and issue #1 will open with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman facing off against a threat which sees the emergence of some "familiar faces" who "take the mantles of superheroes in the future." These include "everyman" Jay Garrick, Alan Scott, Al Pratt, Helena Wayne and Karen Starr (although the latter two will soon find themselves on the main Dcu Earth as Huntress and Powergirl respectively). For more details, don't forget to check out the interview with Robinson. Here is the cover for Earth 2 #2 which offers up...

Power Girl #21 Review

Style over substance. That is the typical first reaction when someone mentions the Power Girl title. Or, thoughts of cheesecake art that hangs on skeleton thin plotlines. This is not the case though.

From the start of the current series, creators Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner brought a smart, sassy take on Karen Starr aka Power Girl. Yes, it had stunningly cheesy art that easily caught a reader’s attention, but part of what makes this character so much fun, (and funny) is Karen, like many an attractive women, is aware of her presence and plays to this strength as much as using her heat vision or super speed. The current creative team of Judd Winick and Sami Basri continue the excellent mix of eye-grabbing art and interesting character driven plotlines.

Power Girl #21 ties into the current Brightest Day mini-series Justice League: Generation Lost. Sound confusing?...
