Fans of The Wheel of Time are coming together to ask for more of the show. Season 3 ended in a big and exciting way, and now viewers are hoping for Season 4. But so far, Amazon has not said if it will return.
To help get the show renewed, fans started a campaign. Their message is clear:
“Thank you for this incredible show. Please give us more.”
How Fans Are Helping:

Hiatus season also means waiting with bated breath for renewal season, for shows that are still in limbo. This can be said for fans of The Wheel of Time. Season 3 concluded last month in an explosive and shocking way. Now, fans are waiting for the official renewal for Season 4 of Prime Video's popular fantasy series and an entire campaign has launched in support of it. Organizers of the campaign's messaging is simply just “Thank you for this incredible show. Please give us more.” The campaign consists of a few different ways fans can show support to urge the studio to renew the fantasy series.

Earlier this month The Wheel of Time wrapped up its third season on Prime Video, and we're just now catching our breath. We weren't the only ones who were over the moon about The Wheel of Time season 3; it's far and away the best-reviewed season of the series, and is still topping the charts on Prime Video nearly two weeks after it aired its finale. If Amazon could hurry up and renew the show for seasons 4 through 8, I think we'd all breathe a little easier.
The Wheel of Time's rise is all the more impressive considering the rocky journey it's had to get here. Back when the first season was filming, the show faced the daunting challenge of having to shut down mid-production because of the Covid-19 pandemic, only to subsequently lose one of its core cast members — Barney Harris, who played Mat Cauthon — before filming resumed. The Wheel of Time, Amazon's adaptation of Robert Jordan's epic book series, aired its first season on Prime Video in 2021, and the reviews were mixed. We liked it, more or less, but even we had to admit that the final action scene at Fal Dara looked kinda weird, probably in large part because the show was filming during the first stretch of Covid lockdowns and filming was very difficult. Actor Barney Harris leaving the show partway through also hurt, which meant they had to rewrite Mat's story and find a new actor to play him in season 2.
They got through that, recasting Mat with actor Dónal Finn. Despite the roadblocks, season 2 was better than season 1 in pretty much every way. And more or less everyone agrees that season 3 is another step up. Check out the Rotten Tomatoes ratings for the show season by season:

The Wheel of Time season 3 may be over, but if the fandom has its way there will be plenty more to come.
This month marked the launch of a concentrated fan campaign asking Amazon and Sony to renew The Wheel of Time for more seasons. The Wheel of Time is based on a massive 15-book fantasy series — one of the most iconic of all time — so there's plenty more story to tell. Yet despite the show's third season hitting series-high ratings on IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Nielsen's streaming charts, the studios still have not officially pulled the trigger on a follow-up. The show's global fanbase is aiming to change that with "an appreciation-centered campaign calling on Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television to officially greenlight additional seasons of the beloved fantasy series."

The third season of The Wheel of Time has ended, but with a fantasy show this dense, there’s plenty of little details to ponder while wait for the follow-up. The third season of Prime Video’s fantasy show was its best and most ambitious yet, with some serious twists and turns. For example, in the season finale, Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo) was ousted from her position as the Amyrlin Seat of the Aes Sedai in a coup, stilled, and then tortured. That was shocking enough, but the television show took it a step further, executing Siuan moments after she gave a defiant speech to the new Amyrlin, Elaida (Shohreh Aghdashloo).
In a finale filled with important moments, Siuan's might have been the biggest, at least in terms of its ramifications for the wider world. With her dead, the leadership of the White Tower is now in the hands of...

Last Thursday, The Wheel of Time aired its season 3 finale, "He Who Comes With the Dawn." From Rand proving he is the Car'a'carn to a terrific magic battle between Moiraine and Lanfear to several unexpected changes from the books, it was a hell of a finale.
It also feels like it came a bit too soon. The third season of The Wheel of Time started airing on March 13, when the first three episodes dropped all at once on Prime Video. That means the whole thing lasted for just over a month. I know some fans would have preferred all the episodes drop at once so they could binge it. I think that works for some shows, but when the episodes are as big and meaty as these, I like having some space to digest. I can't imagine watching something like "The Road to the Spear," which is full of dense flashbacks and visions,...

This article contains Spoilers for The Wheel of Time book series through book 11, Knife of Dreams.
Last week, we reported on a curious development in the ongoing story of The Wheel of Time. During the show's third season, showrunner Rafe Judkins confirmed that the show has already introduced a secret member of the Forsaken, the ancient channelers sworn to the Shadow who serve as some of the primary antagonists for the series.
"We’ve definitely laid the pieces for a few Forsaken to appear in next season who are new and maybe not so new that you will be excited to see on screen," Judkins toldThe Hollywood Reporter.
Over on The Dusty Wheel, Judkins was asked point blank if there are any Forsaken who have been introduced in the show who will "remain unmasked' through season 3. "I mean you know that there are," Judkins replied. "Listen...I don't want to give too much away.

The Wheel of Time, based on the epic fantasy book series by Robert Jordan, has gotten better and better with each season aired on Prime Video, with the recently completely third season being the best yet. We're all waiting on pins and needles to see if Amazon and Sony decide to renew the series, hopefully through the end of this very long story.
The third season ended with Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) tapping into the One Power and making it rain in the desert, proving to the Aiel people that he was indeed their prophesied messiah. It was a powerful moment, but also scary, because whenever Rand taps into the One Power, he runs the risk of going mad.
"We really want to just set up Rand," showrunner Rafe Judkins told Collider. "He's the forefronted character of this season, and at the end of it, we wanted to really have...

Fans of The Wheel of Time are still waiting to hear if the fantasy series will return for a fourth season. Season 3 ended on April 17 with a big finale called “He Who Comes with the Dawn,” but Amazon has not officially renewed the show yet. Still, showrunner Rafe Judkins is already talking about what might come next, and says Season 4 would feel very different.
In a new interview, Judkins shared his hopes for the show’s future and explained why it’s so important for The Wheel of Time to continue: “That is the same thing that I’ve been sort of asking Amazon — what is the end game for the show? I really want to deliver this full series, so how do we best do that?” he said.

Not long after The Wheel of Time showrunner likened the series to Game of Thrones in a Season 4 update, Rafe Judkins is back to deliver yet another outlook on the show’s future. The Wheel of Time Season 3 wrapped up in an explosive finale on April 17, “He Who Comes with the Dawn,” but the show has yet to be renewed for Season 4 at Prime Video, despite an extremely positive reception thus far. The fantasy series is based on the popular novels by Robert Jordan, and there’s still plenty of story left to tell. During a recent interview with THR, The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins previewed the future of the franchise, promising a different Season 4 if the crew gets the chance to make it, but also citing differences in the TV landscape:

Variety reports that iwot Studios is developing a new Aaa open-world role-playing video game set in the world of The Wheel of Time, the epic fantasy book series by Robert Jordan. The Wheel of Time TV show just wrapped up its excellent third season on Prime Video. We still don't know if the show will be renewed, but at least this is some good news to hold fans over while we wait...right?
We'll get into the caveats in a second. For now, iwot Studios CEO Rick Selvage promises that the game will "be everything with the ‘Wheel of Time.’ Everything that is covered in the books, as well as all the backstory elements of it. As we build out the world, it’ll be the entire ‘Wheel of Time’ world, it’s not going to be limited to one area or another or a particular age." The whole thing...

The ambitious project is planned to build on the success of the Prime Video series and give fans a new way to explore the fantasy world from the Two Rivers to the White Tower and the Aiel Waste beyond. The third season of The Wheel of Time ended with a pair of back-to-back bangers: first came "Goldeneyes," which featured a huge battle scene in the Two Rivers. Then we got the finale, "He Who Comes With The Dawn," which brought several plotlines to thrilling climaxes.
These episodes also included some major swerves from The Wheel of Time books, especially when it came to killing off major characters. (Turn back now if you don't want Spoilers.) In "Goldeneyes," gentle giant Loial (Hammed Animashaun) apparently plunged to his death while trying to keep an army of Trollocs from using a Waygate to invade the Two Rivers. And in the finale, we got two unexpected deaths: the Forsaken sorceress Moghedien (Laia Costa) killed fellow Forsaken Sammael (Cameron Jack) in an act of villain-on-villain crime. And in the biggest surprise of all, Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo), the leader of the Aes Sedai, was...

Game of Thrones was a once-in-a-generation TV phenomenon that had everyone transfixed to their screens. The show also inspired one the Great Online Backlashes when fans were left deeply unsatisfied by the ending. Was Game of Thrones the greatest show of all time? Was its legacy tainted by its ending? The debate continues. In the meanwhile, other shows like The Wheel of Time are trying to take up the mantle and become the best epic fantasy show on TV.
But as good as The Wheel of Time is, and the most recent third season was very good, it's hard to talk about it and other high fantasy dramas without referencing Game of Thrones; to some extent, all of them are made in the shadow of HBO's mega-hit. Even The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins mentioned Game of Thrones when talking about trying to secure a fourth season for his show.

It's been a few days since the third season of The Wheel of Time ended on a high. Not only is the show certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at a very impressive 97% rating, it's the highest-rated season of fantasy TV since the fourth season of Game of Thrones, which The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins is reportedly taking pains to point out on his Instagram.
The folks behind the show are hyping it up because, as of this moment, we don't have word on whether Amazon and Sony will renew The Wheel of Time for a fourth season (or a fifth or a sixth or beyond; this is a huge book series Judkins and company are adapting). Any ammunition helps, and Judkins may get another bullet in the form of Nielsen's streaming charts for the week of March 17-23.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video in its entirety, and showrunner Rafe Judkins is already looking forward to Season 4. Although it’s yet to be officially renewed, it’s heavily expected that The Wheel of Time will get the chance to come back for a fourth season. The show has been a major hit for Prime Video throughout its first three seasons, even standing with some of the biggest shows on the platform, like Alan Ritchson’s Reacher and Bosch: Legacy. During a recent interview with EW, Judkins spoke about the future of The Wheel of Time, and even mentioned what he thinks gives it a leg up on another iconic fantasy franchise, George R.R. The third season of The Wheel of Time is over, and it was splendid. One question remains: are we getting a season 4? Josha Stradowski, who plays Rand al'Thor, is "confident" there will be another season. Showrunner Rafe Judkins is "hopeful that we will get to finish this story." But neither are certain.
So will Amazon and Sony, who coproduce the show together, renew The Wheel of Time for season 4? What about season 5, 6, 7 or 8? After all, this epic fantasy show is based on a series of 14 enormous books written by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. Adapting The Wheel of Time for TV is a marathon, not a sprint. Rafe Judkins, a huge fan of the books, knows this; he's said he has an eight-season plan for the show, although he's willing to do it in fewer seasons if he has to.

The Wheel of Time season 3, episode 8, "He Who Comes With the Dawn," capped off an incredible season of the Prime Video original series. There's no doubt that The Wheel of Time season 3 was the best season of the series so far, but after that abrupt ending, it's easy to see why so many fans are wondering if there's another episode on the way.
While I'm going to argue that it was needed this season, The Wheel of Time season 3, episode 9, is not actually happening. There are only eight episodes in each season of The Wheel of Time so far, but I can't help but wonder if things would have ended a little bit differently in season 3 if Rafe Judkins and the creative team had more time to work with.
I loved almost every aspect of The Wheel of Time season 3 finale, but there are some things that I wish worked out a little bit differently.

This article contains Spoilers for The Wheel of Time season 3 Episode 8.
Grief is a journey, and for many Wheel of Time fans, we'll be on it for a while. The season 3 finale of Prime Video's fantasy series dropped this week, and it leaned fully into the darker parts of this sweeping tale. Nowhere was that more apparent than at the White Tower of the Aes Sedai, where the scheming Red Ajah sorceress Elaida (Shohreh Aghdashloo) led a coup against Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo). Elaida succeeds in her attempt to usurp the Amyrlin Seat, leading to Siuan being deposed, stilled, tortured, and executed. It was perhaps the most brutal death we've seen yet in the series, and many fans are deep in their feelings about it.
This is even more the case because in the book series, Siuan Sanche survives the White Tower coup. The show, however, leaves very little room for confusion.

The Wheel weaves and the Wheel wills. The Season 3 finale of The Wheel of Time embodied that famous saying with every iota of its delivery. By the time the finale ended, Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) had completed a great feat in the Aiel Waste, uniting the Aiel tribes as he is recognized as the Car'a'carn. But while the Dragon Reborn gains more power, uniting the Aielmen under his banner, many miles away, in the White Tower at Tar Valon, one of Rand's allies loses her own power. The Red Ajah Elaida (Shohreh Aghdashloo) leads a coup which ousts Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo) from the Amyrlin Seat, with Elaida executing her as well. It was a shocking character death that those versed in Robert Jordan's works would not have seen coming. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Rafe Judkins discussed Siuan's death, and has explored how it might affect a potential fourth season.

The season 3 finale of The Wheel of Time, "He Who Comes With The Dawn," ends with lead character Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) making it rain in the desert. To do this, he calls upon saidin, the male half of the One Power, to change the laws of nature itself. His show of strength does what he wants it to do: he convinces the Aiel people to see him as their messiah, ensuring they will follow him into the Last Battle against the Dark One.
But there's a problem. Saidin is corrupted, which is why the weaves of colorful magic that whip around Rand are streaked with inky blackness. Channelers who draw on saidin are destined to eventually go mad. As the Dragon Reborn, Rand is the most powerful channeler in the world, and if he goes mad, the whole world could suffer.

This article contains Major Spoilers for The Wheel of Time season 3 Episode 8, as well as Robert Jordan's book series.
After a thrilling run, The Wheel of Time season 3 is officially at an end. "He Who Comes With The Dawn" closed out Prime Video's fantasy show with a bang, featuring so many twists and turns that our heads will be spinning for weeks to come. Few hit harder than the shocker death at the episode's end, when the Amyrlin Seat of the Aes Sedai, Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo), was deposed, stilled to permanently cut off her access to the One Power, and then executed by the new Amyrlin Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan (Shohreh Aghdashloo).
While The Wheel of Time season 3 finale may have been one of the darkest episodes in the show's entire run, this sequence of events was by far the most brutal. Siuan is outfoxed at every turn...

The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins discusses the possibility of a fourth season of the hit fantasy series.

This article contains Spoilers for The Wheel of Time season 3 Episode 8.
The finale of The Wheel of Time season 3 is out in the world, bringing this epic season of television to a fitting close. "He Who Comes With The Dawn" is one of the darkest episodes of the show's run to date, with the Black Ajah outfoxing our heroes in Tanchico, Siuan Sanche being overthrown at the White Tower, and Rand al'Thor giving in to his darker impulses as Moiraine fights for her life in the Aiel Waste.
Somewhere, the Dark One must be pleased, because things are looking bleak for our heroes. But they're also pretty bleak for the Forsaken, the Dark One's own lieutenants. Lanfear nearly got killed by Moiraine, while Sammael was taken captive before being subequently dissected for fun by his fellow Forsaken Moghedien.

The Wheel of Time season 3 wrapped up today in typically spectacular fashion; the third season has been the show's best, and there are still miles to go. There are 14 Wheel of Time books, so we're not even halfway through.
But will Amazon and Sony actually renew the show for a fourth season, let alone renew it for as many seasons as it needs to tell this story to completion? Distressingly, we don't have a firm answer, although showrunner Rafe Judkins is doing his best to get Amazon to move. "I really want to deliver this full series, so how do we best do that?" he told The Hollywood Reporter. The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins has stewarded the Prime Video series through countless iconic moments from the Robert Jordan novels. But the epic scope of the fourth episode of Season 3, "The Road to the Spear," is his most ambitious undertaking thus far.
Judkins tasked himself with writing this installment, which sees Rand (Josha Stradowksi) and Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) enter the mystical city of Rhuidean. Once inside, Rand flashes back in time to experience the memories of his ancestors, while Moiraine witnesses the deadly outcome of countless futures. Judkins recently walked Gold Derby through the creation of this fan-favorite episode.
Gold Derby: Rand's journey through the Glass Pillars of Rhuidean are some of the most beloved chapters of the entire Wheel of Time saga. They also seem like the toughest to adapt for the screen. What was your lodestar as you were adapting these pages?

The Wheel of Timeshowrunner Rafe Judkins explains why the series deviates from the books in Season 3.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Judkins was asked about the Season 3 finale, specifically the apparent fates of the series' core characters, Moiraine and Siuan, portrayed by Rosamund Pike and Sophie Okonedo, respectively. "Part of their relationship that is important and that we tried to set up in episode five is this idea that their relationship is bigger than this life," Judkins responded. "Their relationship is bigger than what happens in this moment. There’s something really beautiful to that and something that only the Wheel of Time can do, because it’s inherent in the book series."

[This story contains major spoilers from the Wheel of Time season three finale, “He Who Comes With the Dawn.”]
It’s hard to surprise an audience that already knows what’s coming. That’s not a particularly new challenge for TV shows adapted from beloved book franchises like Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time. But that doesn’t stop its showrunner Rafe Judkins from trying.
Many of the events of season three’s narratively packed finale, which debuted Thursday, are entirely expected, but others will leave more than a few fans in shock. After making the decision to play out a key battle in the third season’s penultimate episode, the finale, “He Who Comes With the Dawn” does the work of both settling some major storylines and then setting up even more.
Across the episode, much of the series’ leading ensemble makes pivotal choices in their larger Wheel of Time journeys. Nynaeve (Zoë Robins), in a literal last-breath move,...

The Wheel of Time has been a quiet hit for Amazon since its 2021 debut. Since then, the series has aired three eight-episode seasons, and the most recent season ended on April 17, 2025 with a shocking final twist.
Based on the series of the same name started by Robert Jordan and now being continued by Brandon Sanderson, the series has introduced a number of changes from the books, and two major changes took place in the Season 3’s final episodes.
In light of that, showrunner Rafe Judkins talked to the press about these major twists and provided the fans with an explanation as to why the series divulged so much from the original books.

There has been much to learn in the third season of The Wheel of Time. The epic series' most recent episode brought out the leadership qualities of the axe-wielding Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), as he defended the Two Rivers against numerous foes, namely a horde of Trollocs and Padan Fain (Johann Myers). Now, as the season draws to a close, we turn our attention back to the Aiel Waste, and Dragon Reborn Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) as he seeks to unite the Aiel under his banner. Ahead of the Season 3 finale, The Wheel of Time has released a new sneak peek, teasing what lies in wait for these heroes as the Pattern continues to weave.
Rand's story in Season 3 has centered on journeying to the Aiel Waste, learning his roots, and proving to the Aiel that he was indeed the Car'a'carn. In the newly released clip, Rand is being led...

The Wheel of Time is an epic fantasy show currently airing its third season on Amazon Prime Video. It starts simple: a farm boy named Rand al'Thor learns he is the Dragon Reborn, a messianic figure destined to to either save the world of destroy it. He and his friends go adventures and learn about themselves, and the world of the show expands. We're introduced to more factions, more cultures and more characters until we're up to our eyeballs in lore. The show is based on The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan, which is famously enormous. The show is only three seasons in, but it has a ways to go if it wants to tell the whole story.
And hopefully it will get a chance to do that, but we can't help but notice that the third season is almost over and neither Amazon nor Sony, who coproduce the show together,...

We here at WinterIsComing have fallen pretty hard for The Wheel of Time over the past several weeks. There are a couple of reasons for that. To start, the current third season of the show is easily the best yet, with series-best episodes coming one after another. The show was always fun, but it's finally living up to the pedigree of The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan, one of the most beloved epic fantasy series to ever be published.
Second, the show has an underdog arc going for it. Despite effusive praise from critics and rising enthusiasm from fans, we have yet to hear whether The Wheel of Time will be back for a fourth season, let alone a fith, sixth or eighth; the book series is famously long, and showrunner Rafe Judkins will need a lot of runway to tell the whole thing. We're looking for any good news we can.

There's only one episode of The Wheel of Time season 3, and it's coming to Prime Video very soon.
Wouldn't it be great if that wasn't the case, though? The Wheel of Time season 3 just premiered on Prime Video on March 13. It's only been running for five weeks, and the finale is right around the corner. It's not fair, and it doesn't make any sense.
When is The Wheel of Time season 3 finale?
The Wheel of Time season 3 finale will be released on Prime Video at 12:00 a.m. Pt on Thursday, April 17. The finale is the eighth episode of the season. Each season of The Wheel of Time is only eight episodes, which is a problem I'd like to talk more about shortly.
We still don't know the episode title of the season finale yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be a good one. Everything is setting...

The latest episode of The Wheel of Time, "Goldeneyes," featured a big battle in the Two Rivers, with Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford) at its center. But there were plenty of people involved. Take Loial (Hammed Animashaun), the soft-spoken gentle gentle giant. Loial is an Ogier, a race of beings responsible for creating the Ways, a magical network of roads that connects places from all over the continent. In "Goldeneyes," Trollocs were using the Ways to get into the Two Rivers and attack the people who lived here, and it fell to Loial to block their passage. He tried to destroy the Waygate itself, but found he couldn't. Instead, he collapsed the bridge in front of it, plunging both himself and the Trolloc army into the depths below.
Is this the end of Loial? In The Wheel of Time books, the answer is a firm no; he lives beyond the Battle of the Two Rivers.

Trollocs invaded the idyllic Two Rivers in the latest episode of The Wheel of Time, and not everyone made it out alive. Their situation seemed hopeless, because the Trollocs could get unending reinforcements from the nearby Waygate.
Luckily for the people of the Two Rivers, they had an expert on the Ways among them: Loial, the lovable and bookish Ogier played by Hammed Animashaun. The Wheel of Time is barreling toward the end of its third season, but we're still reeling from the past few weeks of Prime Video's epic fantasy series. Based on the beloved book series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, The Wheel of Time is one of the most iconic fantasy sagas of all time. It spans 14 books (and a prequel), with thousands of named characters and bits of lore to keep track of. Season 3 of the TV show introduces a slew of new elements, as well as some faces that fans have been dying to see on screen.
Those introductions began right near the top of the season, when Queen Morgase Trakand (Olivia Williams), the mother of Elayne (Ceara Coveney), came to the White Tower to demand answers for her daughter's abduction last season. The Wheel of Time season 3 is in full swing, and it feels like it's just getting better with each new episode. The fourth of the season, "The Road to the Spear," was a sweeping epic that saw reincarnated messiah Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) go on a surreal vision quest through the lives of his ancestors. The next, "Tel'aran'rhiod," vastly expanded the world of the series, introducing new locations and cultures as our heroes explored the homeland of the Aiel Waste and sailed the high seas with the Sea Folk.
This week's episode will continue to explore more of The Wheel of Time world by giving us ample time in the seaside city of Tanchico. The nefarious sisters of the Black Ajah have set up camp there to search for a dangerous artifact which could give them power of the Dragon Reborn. At their head is Liandrin Guirale, played by English actress Kate Fleetwood.

Tarmon Gai'don is fast approaching and all who hope to stand against the Shadow must be prepared and ready for the fight to come. The Wheel of Time continues to spin, with the Pattern weaving threads as it sees fit. The same can be said for showrunner Rafe Judkins, who has made some alterations to the source material provided by Robert Jordan's writings. Some of these changes have drawn criticism from sections of the fanbase well versed in the original writings. In earlier episodes of Season 3, the show persisted with the changes, one of the biggest being the kiss shared by Aviendha and Elayne.
While Aviendha and Elayne were close in the books, a romance between the pair was never explicitly described. Judkins' The Wheel of Time does and Ayoola Smart, who plays Aviendha on the show, commented on the change in an interview with Screen Rant. “I feel...

The Wheel of Time is currently airing its third season and the show has continued to bring to life the stories in Robert Jordan's book series of the same name. Jordan's original work hinted at certain characters being queer, and the Prime Video adaptation has taken representation further along. The Westlands, the world wherein Jordan's story unfurls, is not too dissimilar to the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien in The Hobbitand The Lord of the Rings, stories which Rafe Judkins, The Wheel of Time's showrunner, grew up with. Despite loving both fantasy worlds, Judkins notes there was something missing from Tolkien's world in his eyes.

Right now, the third season of The Wheel of Time is humming along on Amazon Prime Video, and we are enjoying it thoroughly. Fans of Robert Jordan's sprawling epic fantasy series have waited many years to see a good onscreen adaptation, and while the Amazon show may have taken a while to find its footing, all agree that this third season is racing forward. Think piece authors are pulling for it, fan ratings on IMDb are spiking, and season 3 has a very impressive 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Things are looking up!

Last week, The Wheel of Time aired one of the most ambitious episodes in its entire run: "The Road to the Spear," where chosen one Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) and his Aes Sedai mentor Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) journeyed into the sacred Aiel city of Rhuidean. This is a key part of Robert Jordan's book series, and it was equally important for the TV show. Over the course of the episode, Rand goes on a heart-wrenching vision quest where he experiences important events in the lives of his ancestors, laying bare the history of the Aiel.
