The name Toyah comes from a tribe of American Indians. Her surname is regularly spelled incorrectly as Wilcox.

Toyah lives in the house formerly owned by Cecil Beaton.

Currently hosting and performing on Songs of Praise (1961) on BBC-TV.

She is a big fan of Depeche Mode.

She has been a fan of the television series Doctor Who (1963) since she was a child and was interviewed for Doctor Who: Thirty Years in the TARDIS (1993).
