“What a ride it’s been”: Sam Lake’s Alan Wake 2 Dlc Update Could Spell Trouble for Detective Casey and Co in Remedy’s Cult Classic Hit
Image
Sam Lake, the Creative Director at Remedy, who plays Alex Casey, posted a picture from the sets of a motion capture for the Dlc. Remedy confirmed two DLCs coming to Alan Wake 2: Night Springs, which will be released first, and Lake House.

Lake mentioned the capture was completed for an upcoming Dlc, but what could be concerning was him mentioning that the wrap-up was done for the last time for him as an actor in the Alan Wake sequel. Several fans responded with excitement over the Dlc shoot being finalized, which brings the release date closer.

New ‘Dead by Daylight’ Trailer Spotlights Upcoming ‘Alan Wake’ Chapter and Perks [Watch]
Daylight (Pánico en el túnel) (1996)
Behaviour Interactive dropped their surprise last week regarding Alan Wake making the leap to Dead by Daylight later this month. Now they’ve released a new Spotlight trailer for the upcoming Chapter, highlighting Alan Wake’s character Perks that players will be able to use. It’s also narrated by Alan Wake’s voice actor Matthew Porretta, who will also be reprising his role as the tortured writer in the Dlc.

As was touched on when the Alan Wake Chapter was announced, Wake has access to three unique Perks: Champion of Light, Boon: Illumination, and Deadline.

Champion of Light grants players additional movement speed while shining a Flashlight. If you successfully Blind a Killer with the Flashlight, they will be affected by the Hindered Status Effect, slowing them down. Pairing this Perk with Haddie Kaur’s Residual Manifest will further compromise the Killer with the Blindness Status Effect.

With the Boon: Illumination Perk,...

Alan Wake Comes to ‘Dead by Daylight’ on January 30th [Trailer]
Jason Blum and Gavin Magnus in Dead by Daylight
The teasing by Behaviour Interactive yesterday on X didn’t lie: Alan Wake is coming to Dead by Daylight! Fresh from last year’s accolades, the author heads into the fog in the latest chapter for the asymmetrical horror game on January 30th. Wake is voiced once again by Matthew Porretta and based on the likeness of Ilkka Villi. The announcement is accompanied by a new trailer showing Alan Wake working at his typewriter as the fog rolls in.

“We are thrilled to bring Alan Wake, our tortured writer, into the acclaimed Dead by Daylight. We feel the lore of our two horror experiences is a match made in the Dark Place and can’t wait to experience the horrors that await him in the Fog,” says Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment.

As you might expect, Wake’s perks are callbacks to his own time in Bright Falls,...

6 Alan Wake 2 Voice Actors You Probably Recognize
Image
Alan Wake 2 features an exceptional cast of vocal talents with recognizable voices from film, theater, television, and other popular video games. Immersion in video games is improved when players can't identify the voice behind the character, but in some cases, well-known actors bring recognition and familiarity to the game. The talented voice actors in the game are known for their roles in movies, TV shows, and other video games, lending their voices to Alan Wake 2 and adding to the game's appeal and quality.

Epic Games Publishing and Remedy Entertainment's exceptional survival horror game, Alan Wake 2, is a phenomenal game that features some of the best vocal acting in any recently released title. Managing to avoid the lure of hiring widely known celebrities to fill out its roster of voices, Alan Wake 2 does still feature a cast comprised of a number of figures with easily recognizable voices - many of...

‘Alan Wake’ Voice Actor Matthew Porretta Says ‘Alan Wake 2’ Is Coming in October
Matthew Porretta
In case there was any doubt, October is going to be a busy month for horror video games. And if Alan Wake 2 voice actor Matthew Porretta is correct, things just got a little busier.

On a recent episode of the Monsters, Madness, and Magic podcast, Porretta, who voices Alan Wake, revealed that the highly-anticipated Alan Wake 2 is aiming for an October release. Around the 16:40 mark of the interview, host Justin Young commented that posed a question regarding Porretta’s move into voice acting, noting that Alan Wake is one of his favourite games. Porretta responded:

“I’ve been working on [Alan Wake 2]. That’s supposed to come out in October. We’re in the middle of working on it now. In fact I was just in Finland last week. That’s where the company’s from—Remedy—amazing people.”

Obviously, neither Remedy or Epic Games (who is helping to fund the...

Peter Calloway to Adapt ‘Alan Wake’ for Television (Exclusive)
An “Alan Wake” live-action television series is in development with Peter Calloway signed on as showrunner and writer, and game creator Sam Lake as executive producer, Contradiction Films and Remedy Entertainment told Variety.

Contradiction partner Tomas Harlan said the plan is to start shopping the show around in October with Calloway’s full pitch and that he’s already seen initial interest from a number of studios.

“‘Alan Wake’ was basically a TV series that was put into a game,” Harlan told Variety. “That was Sam’s vision. It was influenced by ‘The Twilight Zone,’ ‘Secret Window,’ Hitchcock, ‘Northern Exposure,’ a lot of U.S. television.

“We plan to work closely with Sam on our this show. Sam is a huge part of this. This is his baby.”

“Alan Wake,” which was released on the Xbox 360 and Windows PC in 2010, followed fictitious best-selling author Alan Wake (Matthew Porretta) on a...

'Alan Wake' Fan Pays Tribute To The Survival Horror Game... With Rap
Just so you know, this fan rap contains spoilers from "Alan Wake," in case you haven't played it yet.

The video is the work of nerdcore rapper John H. whose YouTube channel features homages to classic comic supervillains, "Maniac Mansion," and "Matlock." His latest, posted earlier this week, focuses on the story of "Alan Wake."

I'm not a huge nerdcore guy (at least, not anymore--is M.C. Chris still a thing) but I like John H.'s flow here matching voice actor Matthew Porretta's line reading somewhat, particularly at the "That's when he heard the chainsaw" bit. "Alan Wake" had one of the better (and more eclectic) licensed soundtracks of this generation, and while "The Writer" doesn't fit in with what Remedy made, I can imagine a hypothetical universe where this would play as kind of a fun bit at the back end of the long-ish credits.

[TV] The New Adventures of Robin Hood: The Complete First Season
It’s remarkably clear exactly what The New Adventures of Robin Hood wanted to accomplish with its campy take on the legendary vigilante and his merry band. Hercules had started two years before and was enjoying a successful run; Kevin Sorbo was reenacting the tales of the mythological hero, with plenty of creative license, and all he had to do was follow along with the modestly staged choreography and decently written scripts. The show was hammy, the special effects were barely par – but it didn’t matter, it was a Saturday afternoon serial and its audience was set. Enter Robin Hood. It wanted to latch on to that same viewership and thus took a lot of the same liberties, except it makes Hercules look like a television master stroke in comparison. This is the Plan 9 from Outer Space of Saturday afternoon serials.

You know the basic setup: the evil...
