Anna Ostrovskaya is an exemplary housewife, a happy wife and mother. She has a wonderful house, a loving husband, Evgeniy, and three wonderful daughters. But Anna is not an ordinary woman. She is a medium and is able not only to foresee the future, but also to communicate with the ghosts that haunt her every step. At first, Anna's extraordinary abilities frighten her. But she soon realizes that her duty is to help people. Moreover, the police have been conducting an unsuccessful search for the missing girl for two months, and Anna has important information on this case.

Despite the fact that Ostrovskaya now works in the Investigative Committee, she feels useless and unnecessary. The head of the investigative department, Zhogov, promised to involve her in serious investigations and make her a consultant. But for now she is just sorting through papers in the archive. One day Anna wakes up from a nightmare. She dreamed of a man in a Venetian mask who shot the accused right in the courtroom. Ostrovskaya decides to find him and try to prevent the crime.

Anna has a dream: during a wedding ceremony in the registry office, two shots are heard, the bride and groom fall dead, but it turns out that these are not living people, but mannequins. What she saw puzzles Ostrovskaya - she does not understand who needed to shoot the mannequins and why, and is in no hurry to distract Zhogov over trifles. However, it soon becomes clear that the dream is connected with a tragedy in the family of police major Danilov. And only Anna is able to figure out what really happened there.

Zhogov calls Ostrovskaya to the crime scene. Something terrible happened in the apartment of the pensioners Gavrilovs. Son Nikolay, who came to visit his parents, does not find them at home, but the bathroom is stained with blood, and the money set aside to buy a car has disappeared. Nikolay is sure that his parents were killed.

Traffic police officer Sergienko was shot at point-blank range at the entrance of his own house. Businessman Morgunov, who had a score to settle with the murdered man, is suspected of attacking him. But the investigation does not have enough evidence to charge: there is no clear witness testimony, no murder weapon. Zhogov asks Anna to help. The strangest thing is that Sergienko recently appeared to Anna in a dream and left a strange message about her husband Evgeniy. Anxiety for her husband leads Anna to the fortune teller Ragda.

Anna has a nightmare - a serial killer, who has killed many girls, promises to kill Anna's daughter. The next day, in the corridor of the Investigative Committee, Ostrovskaya encounters this same man from the dream. Only he is not a monster or a murderer, but a hero who assisted the police in apprehending the bandits. Everyone admires him, but Anna is confused.

In Anna's new nightmare, a girl throws herself off the sheer wall of an old dock. Ostrovskaya decides to check the information from the dream. She figures out where the dock is and actually finds the girl's body at the bottom. But this nightmare repeats itself again and again. And Ostrovskaya understands that the investigation cannot be stopped. She is sure that the deceased was driven to suicide. But who and why? Meanwhile, Evgeniy gets the opportunity to experience what it's like to live with a gift like Anna's.

A pregnant seventeen-year-old girl, Smirnova, comes to the police and confesses. She declares that she killed a man - her lover, businessman Falkov, owner of a chain of gas stations. And it was self-defense. The examination confirms Smirnova's confession, but Zhogov is tormented by doubts - there are many inconsistencies in the case. This time Ostrovskaya cannot help him - she is tormented by insomnia, a severe headache and the same recurring dream, the meaning of which she cannot figure out.
