"El Roomie" is a romantic comedy with an interesting script but it is somewhat incipient, the comedy never seems to come to light completely on screen and the emotional message it plans to leave is left half-finished. The male lead is a limited actor without much talent, while Fiona Paloma plays an interesting character who plays at being a femme fatale due to her love for Film Noir and the actress represents it majestically. The cast also includes outstanding actors: Leticia Calderón and Carlos Ferro who provide fun performances. The cinematography is good and the editing work also manages to be of quality. "El Roomie" is a regular movie that is watchable.
There is no complex plot. No development of characters. No sense.
Save your time, the simplicity of the story almost feels like an insult because of the poor writing and acting. Annoying characters, plot holes, choreography's (why? Because they can), weird choices.
I mean, it doesn't even work as a cheesy comedy.
It just doesn't work and that's it.
The girl is first shy, but then she is suspicious and intelligent, but then she falls in love, but then she's hurt, but then she forgives everything. The worst: not in that particular order.
Jose Eduardo makes an effort as the leading male role, but the comedy just doesn't hit the spot.
And the little girl, oh my god, so annoying.
Tries to be inclusive with the LGBTQ+ community and the deaf people but feels like "meh".

They make a discrimination remark on Central Americans. I am from Honduras and to become a Docto you have to attend 8 years not just watching Grey Anatomy's episodes. Watch minute 23:05 and you will listen to the dumbest comment. I stop watching it, they need to stop looking others as trash. It a shame to see writers to use offense as a joke. I have respect for all the nations and admire all the good in people. Mexico has so many inspiring stories and so many good movies. Hope in the future they stopped using this bad comments to feel superior to everyone. This happens at soccer level too and it's not right.
