The 2024 film project was given a small endorsement by Chaz, the creator of the game. The IP will not be given a sequel in addition to this due to the game Bonk2.io regressing to its former name, Bonk.io.
A scrapped film project titled Bonk.io The Movie had released on July 29th, 2019 before being deleted 5 months after its inital viewings.
Bonkio's 9th anniversary as a game was celebrated with a premiere event for the movie taking place on April 6th, 2025.
