Shinigami's human form has slightly revealing clothing.

Shinigami is prone to making lustful remarks, of which describe in detail her morbid attraction to death and her deep sexual deviations. She is the only character to provide such deviance in quite a blatant manner, the other characters coming nowhere near as vulgar as she is.

There is a fanservice minigame (Shinigami Puzzle) that involves one of the main characters (Shinigami) in a beach outfit being stuck in a barrel and makes slightly suggestive poses once you get the words right.

One of the characters (Vivia Twilight) in the game is clearly implied to be suicidal, with is his catchphrase throughout the whole game being that he "wants to die someday", but doesn't actually end up killing himself.

Yomi Hellsmile and the nun swear, but only when enraged. Shinigami swears in a few lines as a joke.

Swank Catsonell, Yakou Furio, and the worshipper at Kanai Ward's church are always seen with a cigarette.

Alcoholic beverages such as wine are often seen in some parts of the game.
