One of the greatest episode I've seen so far!

The animation, the feels, Shin's development absolutely perfection. Why are so many people sleeping on this anime ?

Props to all the staff for this gem, the visuals were breathtaking and the narrative use of the aspect ratio was creative. Shin's journey has been such a sad one, but incredibly satisfying and emotional to see him find meaning in living during these episodes.

The epsiode was brilliantly directed, everyone who worked on this epsode are amazing. From the animation, voice acting, direction was top notch, we would just feel with how much care and effort this epsode was made. Every frame and scene was phenomenal. After episode ended I was like, did I just saw a movie.

86 was one of those anime i watched during spring season with not a lot of attention however during cour 2 ep 7 something changed and i rewatched the anime carefully. And it was the best decision i made because i would have probably forgotten this anime had i not gone back and rewatched it .the episode titled "shin" is the reason why I felt that my decision was the best. From the conversion of the aspect ratio and the clearing of the einsteigflage(the butterfly legion) from the lycoris field to the breathtaking ride they took us through showing shin's past and how he suffered. This episode will probably be the best episode I will see in a long time that time being forever so stop what you are doing right now, grab some popcorn and tissues and go binge this masterpiece of an anime and this masterclass of an episode.

Every little detail of this episode was so well crafted, the soundtrack, the voice acting, the art, the camera work, everything was perfect. The build up to the episode was worth it and paid off. You can't justify below a 9 for this episode!

Or 11/10. I have never given a personal perfect 10.0 score for an anime episode other than for AOT. This is the most beautiful anime episode I've seen. Honestly, I couldn't handle my emotions. I lost it at that "scene". That perfect sequence I've been waiting all this time. I watched half of this episode with a blurry eyes from the tears of joy. Gonna watch this ep at least a 50 times. Or at least that scene a 100 times.

"Don't you get there, it calls it calls" when this plays shin and major finally meet with shin realizing who he was saved by, it was an emotional journey. The two month wait has been paid off.

I really cant describe all of the emotions i felt during this episode it was worth the wait and i cant wait for the next ep to touch my heart as equally as this episode did.

God damn this episode was so much more than i dared hope for! I could not compose myself and simply lost it! Everything that Shin has been through and experienced comes to a perfect conclusion!

The Dialogue is so good that i cant even believe it! This is the kind of stuff that will not only leave Shin thinking but the viewer as well! It really feels like that moment we have been waiting for for so long! All the philisophy and Shins character comes to a close in such a emotional and memorable way!

This is the kind of episode that will leave a mark on you! Something that feels special! I know i will always remember this cause it stays with you!

Without a doubt this episode is unbelievably well put together, with the accumulation of everything in the show leading up to this point. The directing in the episode especially stands out, not only for this series (which is already contains stellar direction in the first place) but movie-level quality which even includes aspect ratio changes to amplify certain scenes.

Never have I been so captivated with a story and gotten such catharsis from a single episode. 'Shin' is one of those episodes you must watch and feel for yourself to see how truly masterful it is amongst others. And to think this is only the penultimate episode, the finale right after holds up all your emotions from 'Shin' ending season 1 on the highest of highs.

I've never quite seen an anime do so much in a limited number of episodes as Eighty Six does. Its nuanced structuring of episodes with a great ending and opening are sure to pique your interest more the deeper you delve into the story. From the worldbuilding to the characters and the narrative, it achieves a whole lot and catches your heart & attention. Essentially, the more you watch, the better it gets. The 86 characters and their personalities are very much their own. One or two might be more cliché, but they're also nuanced in their own way and interact with each other so naturally (like a big family), which is an underrated quality that you don't see much of. The anime prides itself in leaving subtleties and achieves the objective of 'show, don't tell'. It may be the best adaptation of an LN (light novel) I have seen so far. From the opening & ending songs to the way the anime reaches its conclusion, it is an enthralling and captivating ride. It might not be perfect, with a tiresome sequence or two scattered about, but it's as close to a perfect 1 season anime as you can get. A1 pictures put a lot of love into it, with surprisingly excellent CGI for the mechas that I wasn't expecting. Overall, the anime is a great story, with likeable characters that vary in personality and compelling protagonists that are sure to have you wanting another season. Hopefully, you'll agree with me by the end of it!

The penultimate episode of 86 starts where its predecessor left off; this is once again an epilogue episode, similar to the penultimate episode of the first part of 86.

And, well, it's pretty much flawless. The symbolism is fantastic, the cinematography is marvellous, the writing is excellent. Truly very well done.

And just like the previous episode, this one would work as the final episode of the series, but there's still one more to go. I'm glad.

This episode demonstrated how far anime can truly go. The amount of symbolism, contrast, cinematography, amazing music and overall epicness of the music was insane. This exceeded my expectations and truly left me completely in shock after watching it. I couldn't believe how amazing this was. I think that the buildup to this episode also greatly helped in making it an amazing part of the conclusion to this amazing show. Overall I believe that this episode stands as an example for all other anime on how to truly create a masterpiece and all other new anime to come in the future should follow this episode's ways.
