The original monster truck Bigfoot was apart of the Monster Jam shows in 1997 to 1998. Team Bigfoot then left the tour after complications raised that PACE Motor Sports whom owned Monster Jam wanted to own all rights to team Bigfoot.

Team Bigfoot also accused Monster Jam of being rigged, and that they where using the Bigfoot name for profit without permission. The Bigfoot company now run or participate in independent shows and have expressed interest in racing with Monster Jam, but no agreement has been made.

Tom Meents, the driver of Max-D (maximum destruction) holds the all time Monster Jam record for most Championships won. As of 2019 his total is 12.

Monster Jam trucks are on average 10,000 pounds, 12 feet wide, 17 feet long, 12 feet high with 66 x 46 inch wheels which weigh 640 pounds. On average they run a 540 cubic inch super charged engine fueled by methanol producing 1500 horse power.

The truck Madusa is driven by Debra Miceli whom is a WWE hall of fame wrestler. She began her career wrestling in the 80's as Madusa. The name is derived from Made In The USA, hence why it is spelled Madusa, and not Medusa. Debra then joined the WWF (now WWE) and became a several time woman's champion under the name Alundra Blayze. She is quite often referred to as the Hulk Hogan of women's wrestling. In the mid 90's she cast the first shot of what became known as the legendary Monday Night Wars between WCW and the WWF by dumping her WWF woman's championship belt in the trash live on WCW and returning to the name Madusa. Debra decided to retire from wrestling and soon was contacted by a friend to try out driving Monster Trucks, whom had previously had cross promotions with WCW during the end of the 1990's. Debra took up the offer, and drove the truck into a ditch where she thought she was fired from monster truck driving forever, but instead was offered a position driving for Monster Jam. Within a few years, Debra accomplished being the first ever female monster truck driver to win a championship in racing. She later would go on to co-win freestyle along side Maximum Destruction and El Toro Loco. Debra competed in Monster Jam for the final time in 2017.

Monster Trucks use traditional steering wheels for the front tires, however a small switch or lever inside the truck operates the rear steering. Rear steering is common practice in Monster Trucking due to the large trucks being so heavy and needing extra help turning around.
