maybe i'm exaggerating the affect of this film on me but i was shocked when i first saw it... the depiction of love regardless of gender was truly pure... first of all meral oguz was stunning, i define her in a place that is more dangerous than turkan soray and even mujde ar with her unbelievable state of madness, i think we haven't seen her enough on the screen. Lale Mansur was also fine with her role of an unblemished prostitute. And there are lots of things that can be said for Atif Yilmaz; his depiction of the town was rather bright as always. He proves that every sin can be committed easily in the darkness of the wicked town which establishes one of the common themes of his films -the illusion of religious commitment in rural ares-... The paradox of life in the country and the big cities seems to be the other theme of the film, he constitutes a binary opposition using this dilemma. and lastly ı must say that it was really touching to see the unhappines of the character played by Lale Mansur when she started to live in the city. One of the best films of the 90s...
