In their bid to seek a new trial or resentencing, Lyle and Erik Menendez have filed a blistering motion to disqualify the office of the District Attorney from participating in the proceedings.

Universal Pictures owns the rights to a series of iconic horror characters from different classic novels, including Frankenstein's Monster, The Mummy, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Invisible Man, Count Dracula, and others. The Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize began to commemorate manga pioneer Osamu Tezuka and is awarded to manga that promotes the progress of the medium. Few anime villains come close to the sheer dread evoked by Naoki Urasawa’s Johan Liebert and Kentaro Miura’s Griffith. There are antagonists, and then there are these guys. Where one would usually use an antagonist to prop up the protagonist, these antagonists are just innately evil and corrupted. They are different, calm, composed, and committed to their goal. There is something extremely chilling about being that single-minded.

But if it comes to the question of who is more evil, terrifying, or unnerving, who among these two wins? That is a difficult question to answer, but one thing is sure.

No matter how many viewers were affected by Urasawa’s Johan and got chills, there is no denying that Miura’s Griffith is much more unnerving.

A new, immersive version of The Wizard of Oz is headed for the Sphere in Las Vegas this summer.

Sphere Entertainment said the updated presentation of the 1939 classic will be shown on August 28. A new film, From the Edge, directed by E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin (Oscar winners for Free Solo), is slated for 2026. Both titles are productions of Sphere Studios.

Collaborating on the new Wizard of Oz are Warner Bros. Discovery, Google and design studio Magnopus. The Wizard of Oz at Sphere will “maintain the integrity of the original,” a press release emphasized, “while pushing the boundaries of Sphere’s experiential medium.”

The creative team behind the updated Wizard includes producer Jane Rosenthal; visual effects specialist Ben Grossmann (an Oscar winner for Hugo), editor Jennifer Lame (an Oscar winner for Oppenheimer) and Zack Winokur, a director and producer who is also creative director of New York’s “Little Island.

According to the River Valley Animal Rescue, Charlie visited the rescue in Momence, Ill., and showered the cats with love, before he decided to adopt.

The rescue center shared photos of Charlie playing with a couple of adorable cats named Sugar Plum and Gingerbread.

Warner Bros. is making some major changes to its release slate ahead of its CinemaCon presentation in two weeks, as five films — including Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Bride!” — see shifts on the 2025 and 2026 release schedule.

“One Battle After Another,” a crime thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio, moves from an August 8 release to September 26. The film will still get its planned release on Imax screens — including select theaters with 70mm — and will now also get a special release on VistaVision, the extinct film format recently revived by the Oscar-winning drama “The Brutalist.”

Sources at Warner Bros. say the delay will give the studio more time to prepare VistaVision prints and projectors for the release. The move also situates the film in the more traditional period for awards contenders in the fall.

The film is one of several big, auteur-driven gambles for Warner Bros.

There's some exciting news about Wednesday season 2 to share with fans of the Netflix original series!

In a recent interview with Collider promoting her new movie, Death of a Unicorn, Jenna Ortega revealed a big update about Wednesday season 2 post-production. Ortega mentioned she's been doing Adr on season 2, which is usually one of the final steps for cast before a season is finished.

Here's what Ortega told Collider:

“We're still in the edit. I was doing Adr for it two weeks ago. That's the funny thing about these jobs is you're done, you wrap, but you're not really done. So, I'll probably be working on it until the end.”

The cast and crew finished filming season 2 at the end of 2024, and according to Ortega's latest update, things are progressing through post-production in the spring of 2025.
