Brad Pitt and George Clooney are competing cleaners who must work together to survive a botched job in the latest Wolfs trailer
Image
The Dream Team is back! Not the 1989 comedy starring Micheal Keaton and Christopher Lloyd; I’m talking about Brad Pitt and George Clooney! Apple TV+ unveiled another Wolfs trailer on Wednesday, featuring the dynamic duo as cleaners who mix like oil and water when accidentally assigned to the same job. The preview highlights Pitt and Clooney’s brilliant on-screen chemistry, proving the pair hasn’t lost their magic after several years apart.

Wolfs reunites Pitt and Clooney as rival fixers called in to dispose of a corpse by their shadowy employer, only for the corpse to be far from dead and in the possession of a massive amount of drugs. What starts as a routine job quickly escalates into a fight for survival as bullets start flying and henchmen emerge from the shadows.

Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) directed and wrote Wolfs. Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan star alongside Clooney and Pitt.

10 Great 80s and 90s Michael Keaton Movies (that aren’t Beetlejuice or Batman)
Image
One of the best things to happen in Hollywood in recent years is that Michael Keaton’s career got a major second wind (but don’t call it a comeback) after a somewhat lower-key period. While the extent of Keaton’s career downturn pre-Birdman has indeed been overblown (let’s not forget he was still a big enough star to play the villain in the RoboCop reboot months before Birdman came out), it can’t be denied that Alejandro González Iñárritu’s movie gave him a major boost. Since then, he’s appeared In some amazing films, including Spotlight, The Founder, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and The Trial of the Chicago 7. He has also done great TV work, such as the exceptional limited series Dopesick.

However, Keaton’s pre- and post-Beetlejuice/Batman career tends to be overlooked when discussing his filmography, which is a shame as he was already a...

Netflix Updates Its Famous Culture Memo: ‘Netflix Sucks Today Compared to Where We Can Be Tomorrow’
Image
Netflix on Monday released the latest update to its culture memo, its guiding set of principles for how the company operates.

The new iteration of the influential document does not really reflect any fundamental changes to the company’s core principles. The new title is “Netflix Culture — The Best Work of Our Lives,” whereas most recently it was titled “Netflix Culture — Seeking Excellence.”

One of the most noticeable changes: Netflix has replaced the “Freedom and Responsibility” heading and now incorporates those principles under a section called “People Over Process.” However, the principle that Netflix still lets employees act on their own initiative without a lot of red tape is still embodied in the doc. The new iteration puts an “emphasis on responsibility, and the focus on good and bad process versus no process at all,” chief talent officer Sergio Ezama wrote in a blog post about the new version of the culture memo.

Batman: Michael Keaton admits that Tim Burton hiring him was a “ballsy move”
Image
Recently, we had the chance to sit down with Michael Keaton and chat about his new movie, Knox Goes Away, which he also directs. Keaton is still out there promoting the film and recently ran down some of his best roles with GQ, including Batman. In the interview, which is really fascinating, Keaton remembers the controversy that surrounded his casting initially by director Tim Burton, which he calls a “ballsy move.”

For those who may not have been around in 1988, when Keaton’s casting was first announced, may fans hated him getting the role as his career up to that point had largely been focused on comedy roles. Indeed, he had many comedy hits in the 80s, including Night Shift, Johnny Dangerously, Gung Ho, The Dream Team, and Beetlejuice. In fact, it was his work on that last movie that directly led to his casting, as him and Burton had...

Knox Goes Away: We Interview the Legendary Michael Keaton & James Marsden
Michael Keaton
I’ve been interviewing people for a long time, but as a child of the 80s, one of my bucket list interviews has always been Michael Keaton. Not only was he Batman and Beetlejuice, but he also starred in a whole bunch of childhood favourites of mine, including Johnny Dangerously (coming soon to The Best Movie You Never Saw), The Dream Team, Gung-Ho, and even a drama he did called Clean & Sober, which for some reason I enjoyed as a child.

Keaton’s in the middle of a great career resurgence that began with Birdman. Fresh off his Batman stare-down at the Oscars, Keaton is in theaters this week with his film noir throwback Knox Goes Away. In it, he plays a hitman stricken with early-onset dementia. The fast-moving illness is set to destroy his memory (hence the title) completely, and as if that weren’t bad enough, his...

Goodfellas: The Extensive Casting Process That Went On Behind the Scenes
Image
Directed by Martin Scorsese, Goodfellas is arguably the greatest film of its decade. Among the best at the very least, and in fact, it's commonly considered among the most seminal pieces of American cinema regardless of decade or director.

Plenty of that acclaim is due to the performances of its star-studded cast: Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Lorraine Braco, for example. This is perhaps the single greatest product from everyone involved, with Pesci and Braco picking up nominations at the Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively. And the former actually walked away with a golden statuette, which you might recall via his world-famous acceptance speech.

But just because those two were the only ones nominated at the Oscars for their efforts, it’s worth noting that each performer herein filled the shoes of their respective, real-life counterparts to absolute tees. It’s...

Michael Keaton & Christopher Lloyd Gave Us a Wild Comedy Thriller
Image
In just a matter of weeks, The Flash will see award-winning actor Michael Keaton return to the big screen in one of his most iconic roles — Batman. In 1989, Tim Burton’s Batman took over the world and became a cinematic phenomenon. It set the standard for big-budget, comic-book superhero films for years and continues to be an influential film to this day. However, in 1989, just a couple of months before Burton’s Batman would take over cinemas and the world, Keaton starred in another movie that isn't as well-remembered. It was an oddball comedy called The Dream Team, directed by filmmaker Howard Zieff, best known for his work on the Barbra Streisand comedy, The Main Event, and the Goldie Hawn comedy, Private Benjamin. The comedy-thriller that is The Dream Team boasts an impressive cast, but few people probably recall the film. It’s time to take a look back at...

Captain Marvel Blu-Ray To Include 26 Minutes Of Deleted Scenes
With a runtime of 2 hours and 3 minutes, Captain Marvel is a little shorter than your average McU movie, but it looks like the film’s home release will offer plenty of fresh material for fans to savor.

If you thought that the heroine didn’t get enough screen time in Avengers: Endgame, then you may appreciate the news recently shared by Anton Volkov from TrailerTrack. Taking to Twitter, Volkov reported that the digital and Blu-Ray release of Carol Danvers’ solo debut will contain a hefty 26 minutes of deleted scenes.

While we’ve yet to hear any details about this bonus content, one image shared by Entertainment Weekly several months ago suggests that a scene of the Starforce team crossing paths with Ronan the Accuser was left on the cutting room floor. There was also a rumor going round earlier this year that extra scenes were shot of the Supreme Intelligence speaking to Carol,...

The Dream Team – Donald Glover and Jordan Peele
Donald Glover is having one heck of a year. The Atlanta and Solo: A Star Wars Story star looks as if he ready to take over the world of Hollywood. It has been rumored that Donald Glover is in talks to have a role in the upcoming Black Panther sequel. A release date for the Black Panther sequel has not been announced.

Atlanta season 2 just aired its season finale a few weeks back, and it was during season 2 it occurred to me of a dream pairing. Donald Glover is an amazing writer with a lot to say. Just look up his alter ego Childish Gambino and the video “This Is America”, as of this writing has 176 million views on YouYube. The video is a statement to the current mindset of what is happening across America.

I love the horror genre, and I believe that if Donald Glover and Jordan Peele were to team up,...

Rest In Peace, Brother Flounder: Stephen Furst (1955 – 2017)
“This is Kent Dorfman. He’s a legacy from Harrisburg…”

Like we all must, Stephen Furst, the actor who brought Kent Dorfman, a.k.a. the sweet, portly Delta Tau Chi pledge known as Flounder, to life, has passed away. It’d be hard to argue that Furst’s life wasn’t far too short—after all, he was only 63 years old. But though other actors and well-known figures who have passed recently may have made a more lasting or profound mark on the lives of the audience they left behind, Furst’s death hurts a little bit more for me than those other losses, for a couple of reasons.

In 1977, when I was a freshman at the University of Oregon, I landed a spot as an extra on the set of National Lampoon’S Animal House—specifically, I was cast as a “Delta pledge,” and I also ended up...

American Gods star ponders a leprechaun and zombie romance
Rob Leane Louisa Mellor Kirsten Howard Jul 3, 2017

Pablo Schreiber has been chatting about going full Bonnie and Clyde with Emily Browning on American Gods...

The TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods may have started out as the story of Shadow Moon and his dealings with Mr. Wednesday, but over the course of 8 episodes the relationship between Pablo Schreiber's leprechaun and the dead girl who absorbed his lucky coin (Emily Browning) became the most engaging storyline of them all.

Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton in Batman (1989)
What does this 'Batman v Superman' controversy teach us about fan-trums?
Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton in Batman (1989)
When you write about entertainment all day every day, you tend to get caught up in minutiae, and it leads to editorial decisions I would call questionable. When you're writing breathless headlines about Pez dispensers, you may be working too hard to find relevance in the irrelevant. Getting hung up on the micro often prevents us from focusing on the macro, but I'd like to take the opportunity to take a step back from time to time to examine 'The Bigger Picture.' I'd like to start by telling you three stories. They're just three totally unrelated stories about going to see movies with people reacting afterwards in ways that are, by any definition, irrational. I can't imagine what might have happened in the last week that would have me reflecting on these incidents, but maybe by the time I've told them, we can figure out some sort of unifying thread.

O.J. Simpson in Die nackte Kanone (1988)
'People V. O.J. Simpson' Shocks Audiences with This Very Bad Swear Word
O.J. Simpson in Die nackte Kanone (1988)
Last night, FX aired the third episode of The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, entitled The Dream Team, which focused on O.J. Simpson's (Cuba Gooding Jr.) powerful legal defense team coming together. Many were quite shocked and surprised when the very last sentence uttered in the episode contained a curse word hardly ever heard on primetime TV. Entertainment Weekly reports that last night's episode may be the first time that "motherf---er" has ever been said on a non-pay channel before midnight.

The last scene of the episode featured Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark going into her backyard in the wee hours of the morning, to read the daily newspaper. On the front page, she finds that the infamous Johnnie L. Cochran (Courtney B. Vance) has joined O.J. Simpson's defense team. Her response to the news was, "Cochran ... motherf-er," as the episode came to end.

'People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story' Breaks FX Ratings Records
O.J. Simpson in Die nackte Kanone (1988)
For the second consecutive week, The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story ranked as television's #1-rated show in delivery of Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 on Tuesday inclusive of all broadcast networks and basic and premium cable network programs according to The Nielsen Company. The Live+3 delivery for the first two episodes of The People v. O.J. The series aired its third of 10 episodes, The Dream Team, last night at 10 Pm Et on FX.

The first-run of the second episode of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story delivered 3.9 million Adults 18-49, an astounding +104% Live+3 ratings increase over its delivery in Live+Same Day. The 1.87 million Adults 18-34 delivery for episode two was equal...

'The People v. O.J. Simpson': How Accurate Was the Third Episode?
O.J. Simpson in Die nackte Kanone (1988)
The third episode of FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story hit the mark concerning the case's turn toward the racial component, former case reporter Jim Newton told The Hollywood Reporter.  The episode, which aired Tuesday, titled "The Dream Team," illustrated how, considering the evidence, the Los Angeles county district attorney's office felt its case against Simpson was a "slam dunk" before concerns quickly began to arise, said Newton, now a UCLA professor in the communication studies department and editor of the university's Blue Print magazine. "Over in the Da's office, they initially didn't think much

[Warning: This story contains spoilers from the third episode of American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.] When it came to assembling O.J. Simpson’s now infamous Dream Team of lawyers, media influence had just as much to do with the actual legal representation selection as the overall racial defense strategy itself. That complex network of decision-making and political players unraveled on Tuesday night’s “The Dream Team” episode of FX's American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. 'American Crime Story' Recap: The Prosecution and the Defense Prepare for Trial
O.J. Simpson in Die nackte Kanone (1988)
American Crime Story is a weird limbo state in their telling of O.J. Simpson story. Everyone knows how the story begins and how it ends and most are even familiar with the big moments of the trial. However, a large portion of the public is not aware of how the prosecution and defense started preparing for trial. It's this time period that American Crime Story focuses in on "The Dream Team."

Obviously, this episode doesn't have the melodramatic and climatic moments of the previous two episodes, but American Crime Story doesn't stop being any less interesting. "The Dream Team" is really nothing more than a lot of people debating and/or flattering one another and basic cable cursing. It's all fascinating though, especially if you're a true crime fan, as American Crime Story gets to explore one of the least known aspects of one of the most famous murder trials ever.

American Gods: Ricky Whittle cast as Shadow

Neil Gaiman TV adaptation American Gods pushes on at Starz, with Ricky Whittle cast in the lead role of Shadow...

Forthcoming Starz adaptation, American Gods, has cast its Shadow, and unusually (though perhaps not at all unusually considering Us TV's love of giving limeys American accents), it's gone for a Brit.

Ricky Whittle, seen recently in The 100, is the man for the job.

Whittle made his name here in the UK on soap Hollyoaks and football drama The Dream Team, before doing a stint in sequins on Strictly Come Dancing then relocating across the Atlantic for Mistresses and the aforementioned The 100.

He'll be playing Shadow Moon, the American Gods lead, who begins Gaiman's novel as a recently released ex-con with a mysterious past and a penchant for coin tricks. When Shadow's path crosses with that of Wednesday, things get seriously weird for him. And we mean seriously.

Akiva Goldsman Writing 'Transformers 5,' Animated Cybertron Origin Movie In The Works
Ok, lets give at least a little bit of credit to the “Transformers” writing room, if only for being an experiment much more interesting than we expected. Turns out they paid a lot of writers a lot of money not to write a bunch of movies, but to sequester themselves for several weeks and refine pitches for possible “Transformers” sequels, prequels, spin-offs, and connected movies. Hey, at least its a different approach, and Hollywood generally doesn’t shake things up like that. The dream team of writers — the ensemble includes producer/writer/“showrunner” Akiva Goldsman, Robert Kirkman (the creator of “The Walking Dead”), Zak Penn (“Pacific Rim 2”), Steven DeKnight (“Daredevil” season one showrunner and “Spartacus" creator), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (“Iron Man”), Christina Hodson (the new "Fugitive" movie), Lindsey Beer ("How To Nail An Alien"), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (“Ant-Man”), Jeff Pinkner (“Lost,” “Amazing Spider-Man...

The dream team is back! Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne are sharing ad space as the new faces of Mango's fall 2015 campaign, teaming up for the second time as model co-stars. Recap: 'American Idol' Season 14 - 'Hollywood Week #2' - Group Round
I'm not sure how often "American Idol" has done Hollywood Week, or how often Hollywood Week has reached its climax with group performances, but the reality is that group performances have almost always been anti-climatic and low-drama, but every once in a while somebody totally freaks and the drama is tremendous.  Will Thursday (February 5) night's show feature a gripping Group Round? Or a fizzle in which one or two people forget lyrics, one or two people go to bed earlier and nobody really cares?  Let's find out... 8:00 p.m. Et. Light Up Your Life: New Lexus Nx Inspires “Project Illuminated”
It’s the small but important details that give form to luxury, and the new Lexus Nx has taken a quantum leap forward with its first sharply styled entry into the premium mid-size SUV segment. Perfect for dynamic drivers leading active lifestyles: the Nx’s edgy, emotional design offers three engines (including a highly efficient 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine) and three transmissions; with the choice of front and all-wheel drive.

To coincide with this new chapter of leading edge design and intelligent innovation; Lexus have launched a digital art exhibition called Nx-Perspectives – drawing on the most innovative artists in fashion, design and music to create a revolutionary piece of performance art. All of this, of course, is inspired by the bold design of the new Lexus Nx.

For Nx-Illuminated, the versatile Lunice and creative collective LuckyMe are combining on a project to use the sharp, distinctive lighting of the...

WWE: 20 Best Entrance Themes By Popular Artists
flickr

A theme can be a wrestler or show’s very identity. It is the very first impression made on fans in most cases and the right theme can create a frenzy thousands strong with a single note or sound effect. WWE in-house musician Jim Johnston has done a beyond admirable job of writing, composing and recording themes for a vast majority of superstars over the years, but sometimes wrestling reaches out to mainstream musicians to make a theme song for a wrestler.

When that happens the result is something that makes both wrestling fans and fans of the band making the theme pay attention as the song is wildly popular. There are also cases where wrestlers will take an already popular song and make it their own, sometimes even breathing new life and popularity into the song and introducing the recording artist to a new audience. Other times, the...

Bill Murray at an event for Broken Flowers (2005)
Harold Ramis: 6 of his greatest comedies from Caddyshack to Groundhog Day
Bill Murray at an event for Broken Flowers (2005)
Harold Ramis has passed away at the age of 69.

Tributes have poured in for the veteran writer-director and actor, whose credits spanned from early '80s classics Caddyshack and Stripes to recent comedies including Knocked Up and Year One.

Digital Spy takes a look back at six great comedies in which Ramis played a key role.

Animal House (1978)

Ramis's first feature writing credit turned out to be on one of the most influential (and profitable) comedies of all time. Working from a series of stories published in National Lampoon magazine and using many of their own fraternity experiences as inspiration, Ramis, Douglas Kenney and original author Chris Miller dreamt up the ribald story of two freshmen who, having been rejected from the major college fraternity, defect to anti-establishment alternative Delta House.

Caddyshack (1980)

Ramis's directorial debut was a game-changer, launching Bill Murray into the big time on the big screen (all...

Netflix Loses A Bunch Of Its Movies
A major downside of VOD services compared with having a vast Blu-ray or DVD library is timing. Services like Netflix, Hulu, etc. have contracts with content providers - contracts that expire usually around the end of a calendar year unless otherwise renewed.

Thus from January 1st, certain films will no longer be available on that service to watch when you want. Today, a Reddit post has listed the films that are about to drop off Netflix due to contract with various rights providers running out. When (or even if) they will return is anyone's guess. The list is as follows:

1492 Conquest Of Paradise

As Good As It Gets

Brick

Being John Malkovich

Back To School

Battle Of Britain

Best Of Times

Born On the Fourth Of July

Braveheart

Body Of Evidence

Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo

Biloxi Blues

Plein Soleil

Film

Plein Soleil was the first adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr Ripley, and Alain Delon’s star-making turn as the beautiful and charming villain Tom Ripley is arguably the best of the four on screen portrayals of the amoral social climber.

Ripley is sent to Italy to persuade the playboy son of an American millionaire to return home to San Francisco, but when it becomes apparent that Phillipe has no intention of going home so that Ripley can collect his fee, Ripley decides that actually becoming Phillipe, and gaining control of his considerable assets, is a much better prospect. Gradually ingratiating himself with the playboy and his fiancé Marge (although she is annoyed with their boyish camaraderie and is dubious about Ripley), Ripley painstakingly constructs his imitation of Phillipe while quietly engineering the opportunity to make him disappear, the final step...

Liv Tyler, Elliot Page, and Rainn Wilson in Super - Shut Up, Crime! (2010)
It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.

‘Wolverine: The Musical’ Poised to Fulfill Dreams You Never Knew Existed
The dream team behind the hit web series Glove and Boots, Mario and Fafa the Groundhog, are gaining steam with their quick-witted clips and fearless videos. Take Wolverine: The Musical, for instance. The puppet-filled series follows “Hugh Logan Jackman Wolverine” singing about his daily plights, and it’s everything you could have dreamed of and so much more. The musical features hits like “Oklahoma!” and “The Phantom of The Opera” as its subject matter, so nobody gets left out. It’s a big departure from what happens when the actual Hugh Jackman puts on his own singing boots and sings at various ceremonies, like the Academy Awards and the Tonys. Don’t get me wrong, the man has the voice of an angel, but it’s always much more fun when he’s accompanied by a slew of other superheros like Iron Man or Spiderman, like right here: Be sure not to miss Thor belting “Let’s...

"Grey's Anatomy" recap: "This is why we fight" (9.16)
Tags: Grey's AnatomyGrey's Anatomy recapsIMDb

Last night’s Grey’s Anatomy “This is Why We Fight” was a real nail-biter. (For me anyway.)

In the show’s last installment, Callie, Arizona, Meredith, Derek and Cristina (who I have dubbed the “dream team”) quit Seattle Grace and made a mad dash to try to buy the hospital. This week our dream team reveals they need a measly $175 million dollars to buy Seattle Grace Mercy West. (Hey, I’ll chip in 50 bucks!)

While they are keeping their plan hush-hush from everyone, the nurses at the hospital are jumping ship left and right. Even Bailey is heading out on job interviews. Owen convinces Bailey to stay by calling her the “heart” and “spirit” of the hospital. (Nice move, Owen!)

As Derek and the dream team scurry around trying to get investors, Dr. Cahill is wrapping up the new sale of the hospital. Pegasus...

'Project Runway' Recap: Two Designers, One 'Surprise'
Project Runway (2004)
It's week three and the number of hopeful designers is dwindling down with only 14 remaining on Project Runway: Teams. The Dream Team seriously needs to step it up, since the only two eliminations have come from their losing streak. Can they finally top Keeping It Real's effortlessly gelled machine? Or will those nightmares just get worse and worse?

Heidi is looking for sexy showstoppers to wear while promoting her new fragrance "Surprise." So let's hope the teams are prepared to deal with such a picky, and important, client!

Les MISÉRABLES – The Review
Over a year ago, when it was announced that Academy award-winning director Tom Hooper would be bringing the iconic musical Les MISÉRABLES to the big screen - as a musical, diehard fans of the show breathed a collective sigh of skepticism.  When it comes to musicals adapted to film, the general rule of thumb is that you have to trade professional Broadway caliber .no-names. for A-list Hollywood stars  who aren.t trained singers (see Rent, Rock Of Ages . both hugely successful on stage but bombed as movies because Rent was cast with relative no-names and Rock Of Ages had the big names that couldn.t sing a note!).

It.s a tricky combination to pull off and I am very happy to say that Finally it has been done!

Miraculously, Tom Hooper has put together the exact perfect combination, with staggering credentials. In Hugh Jackman (Valjean), you have a Broadway trained,...

Review: The Other Dream Team
Any American who follows the Olympics will recall that the 1992 Us men's Olympic basketball team was known as The Dream Team, but the bronze medal-winning Lithuanian team the Americans defeated is the focus of the documentary The Other Dream Team. Their journey to the Olympics was not an easy one, embroiled with politics and oppression existing for over 50 years, although it helped resolve the America misperception that all Soviets are Russian.

Lithuania was one of three ex-Soviet republics to compete individually in 1992, and their team beat the Unified Team in Barcelona. The significance of their triumph was extensive --at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, four of the five starters for the Ussr basketball team were Lithuianian, defeating the Us team to win the gold medal. Ussr team members Sarunas Marciulionis and Arvydas Sabonis were the poster boys for the Russian sports program, and were threatened should they not stick to the...

"Bomb Girls" recap (1.2): "Gladys Hastings and the Hat Box of Justice"
Tags: Bomb GirlsReelzAli LiebertIMDbBomb Girls recapsPretty Little Liars

I'd like to start by thanking everyone who commented this week. I'm so excited to gush over this show together. Let's never fight.

So far, other than talking to you guys, the coolest thing about recapping this show is being forced to re-watch and rethink episodes. It's made me change my opinion on a couple of things. Firstly, I'll admit that I was not initially very fond of Ms. Gladys Witham, because I thought she was the Canadian Lady Mary, and the spot for "poor little rich girl" in my heart has already been claimed by a girl with the eyebrows of an angel and an immortal golden retriever. But then it came to me in a dream: Gladys isn't the Canadian Mary Crowley, she's the 1940s Spencer Hastings. Because Gladys, like Spencer, uses her beauty, wits, and sense of entitlement for...

"Project Runway" recap 10.8: "Taking It to the Streets"
Tags: Project RunwayProject Runway recapsAlicia HardestyIMDb

Welcome to the 8th episode of this 10th season of Project Runway, one that I’m hoping we can get through without any fat-shaming or misogyny! Can we do it, Project Runway?! I think we can, I think we can!

Before we even hear about the challenge for this week, the show starts off with Christopher complaining about no one getting kicked off last week’s episode. Even though I feel he should just be pumped about life, as he walked away with a huge win with a pretty boring outfit, it apparently really upsets him that Gunnar didn’t get the boot. Hey, Christopher, you know what’s more annoying than winning something and then kicking the people who almost lost? Nothing, there is nothing more annoying than that.

There are a few interesting things thrown at the designers for this challenge. First,...

"True Blood" Recap (5.12): "Save Yourself"
Tags: True BloodTrue Blood recapsIMDb

You guys! Last night was the season finale of True Blood. I'm still kind of in disbelief that it's over, because it really feels like it was just getting started. How are we supposed to last until 20-fucking-13 after all those seriously intense cliff-hangers? But that being said, I really feel like this was the best episode of the season, and not only because of that make out scene. But now I'm getting ahead of myself.

We begin with the fairies putting their hands together to zap the shit out of Russell, who, in turn, only feels a very slight tickling sensation. So that's terrifying. If the fairies don't have their zapping powers, what do any of us have at all? Just as he appears to be about to erupt into an fit of orgasmic giggles, Eric appears! I'm such an Eric fan right now.

Justin Bieber Tweets #Love To Missy Franklin; Other Artists Who Should Show Support For Olympian Fans
There’s nothing more aw-worthy than seeing celebrities from different industries become fans of each other. Justin Bieber tweeted at U.S. Olympic swimmer, Missy Franklin today that he heard that she’s a fan of his. “Now im a fan of hers too. Congrats on winning Gold!” and added the very adorable “#muchlove” tag. We wish we saw more of this celeb interaction! Athletes are glued to their headphones before competition to get pumped up in London and some Olympians have confessed their love for certain artists. What we’d like to see is these artists responding with support for the folks who are seriously earning their celebrity status this summer.

Ryan Lochte loves Lil Wayne. How much so, you ask? Well, Wayne’s song “Sky’s the Limit” is on Lochte’s pump-up playlist. Not only that but Lochte’s dog’s name is Carter, named after a certain Dwayne Michael Carter,...

'Around The World In 80 Plates' Recap: "Cry For Me Argentina"
Last week: Nicole went home. No one cared. Now on to Argentina!

The chefs are split into two teams. Avery picks Nookie and that means John and Liz are together. The dream team!... Liz seems excited. John does not. He still has an alliance of sorts with Avery and Nookie though, right? Kinda?

For "The Course," they have to make and sell empanadas. The kitchen is actually really calm and fun... until Liz starts burning sh*t.

"Liz is choking. We're screwed now."

Nookie and Avery finish first by a mile and head out to sell. They have to earn 150 pesos before they can move on. Liz and John start selling theirs 2 for $5 and are having much better luck. Or so it seems.

"The other guys are selling 2 for $5. Idiots! Wait, does that make sense?"

Avery's not so good at math and it looks like Liz and John take the lead.

NBA TV presents “The Dream Team” documentary
NBA TV presents “The Dream Team,” a documentary about the 1992 USA Olympic basketball team, on Wednesday, June 13. It’s hard believe it’s been 20 years since the 1992 USA Olympic basketball “Dream Team” — probably still the greatest single team of athletes ever assembled — won gold at the Barcelona Games. It’s even harder to believe there was a time when the greatest basketball players in the world weren’t eligible for Olympic competition, since the U.S. couldn’t field pro players while other countries could. While the USA was dominant for years fielding teams with college kids, the rules changed [...]...

Mike Krzyzewski Recalls the "Magical Moment" of The Dream Team
It was 1992 and they would be the first team of NBA stars to represent the United States in the Olympics. They would secure an 8-0 record on their way to the coveted gold medal, demolishing their opponents by an average of nearly 44 points. They were the original Dream Team. And now, in honor of their 20th anniversary, the NBA TV documentary The Dream Team gathers the players that coach Chuck Daly, who passed away in 2009, led to victory (including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Charles Barkley). "It was a moment, really, for the game of basketball," says then-assistant coach Mike Krzyzewski (head coach at Duke University and now also the head coach of the U.S. team going for gold at the London Olympics this summer). "You could feel just the aura, the power of the personalities and the talent. It made you feel that, wow, this may never happen again.

'Dream Team' doc finally gets to the bottom of Isiah Thomas blackball?
Twenty years ago at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, the Dream Team restored the United States to prominence in basketball, a game it had long dominated on the international level. After settling for bronze at the 1988 Games — the last Olympics that did not allow professional athletes — U.S. Olympic officials and the NBA united to send a team composed of all-timers, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley. They cruised to the gold at Barcelona, drubbing opposing teams who seemed more interested in autographs than actually defeating their NBA heroes.

This Wednesday, NBA TV will air a...

Denette Wilford: 'The Good Wife': Guest Stars Make It Great
Julianna Margulies in Good Wife (2009)
Let me slam on the brakes for a second. "The Good Wife" is great because of its cast, the crew, the writing, the direction -- but there's something about its guest stars that make the CBS drama extra-special. It's reminscent of the days of "Ally McBeal," whenever the lawyers of Cage & Fish had to try their cases in front of a special-guest judge or attorney, but "The Good Wife" takes it to a whole other level.

Last night's season three finale, directed by co-creator Robert King, was aptly titled "The Dream Team" -- which is what Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) and Patti Nyholm (Martha Plimpton) christened themselves when suing the firm for $50 million for fraud and malicious prosecution. Wait ... let's backtrack here. The episode began with Diane (Christine Baranski) and Alicia (Julianna Marguiles) winning a flabbergasting $25 million settlement ($7 million more than they were asking) against a pharmaceutical company, which...
