Following the passing of original Berserk creator Kentaro Miura, new story supervisor Kouji Mori has revealed his honest thoughts on his duty to continue the beloved series in the years to come.

Berserk fans once again came to terms with the series' future following Kouji Mori's bittersweet afterword in Volume 42, now officially translated into English with Dark Horse Comics' release on March 18, 2025. Mori and Studio Gaga, the studio that Miura set up for him and his assistants, have been responsible for continuing the series. Via Reddit, Mori's afterword says, "Thank you very much for picking up Berserk Volume 42. From here on, it will be Berserk without Miura. Naturally, it's going to be imperfect. I'm sure there are those who will find that hard to accept. I myself feel that same way."
