Chicago Pd fans have had to say goodbye to their fair share of characters over the show's ten seasons, including Alvin Olinsky, played by Elias Koteas, at the end of season 5. Olinsky was one of the original members of the Intelligence Unit at the 21st District and made his first appearance in Chicago Fire season 2, episode 9. He was a senior detective on the team, had many years of experience as an undercover police officer, and was Hank Voight's right-hand man.

Olinsky often joined Voight in his unlawful pursuits, and the two best friends were loyal to one another until the very end. During the NBC procedural series' fifth season, Olinsky, unfortunately, found himself in the middle of a murder investigation, even though he was innocent of the crime.
