Actress Payal Ghosh will essay the role of yesteryear superstar Zeenat Aman in the upcoming biopic titled as ‘Shaque: The Doubt’. Zeenat, who is known for participating in beauty pageants, began her acting career in 1970 with the movie ‘The Evil Within’. She gained recognition for her work in movies like ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’, ‘Qurbani’, ‘Dostana’, and ‘Don’ among many others.

‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ actress Payal Ghosh spoke about her upcoming film ‘Red’ which also stars Krushna Abhishek.

She said: “‘Red’ is a psychological thriller and I play 3 shades of the role: a college girl, a wife and an escort. This was really exciting for me.”

Payal goes on to share how she got the role: “Producer Rajeev Chowdhury offered me a role in his next film ‘Red’ and I was really taken aback. After hearing the amazing script, I was really intrigued and said yes for the role. As my role was a little different from the ones I had done, it got me interested and then the rest is history of course.”

Payal Ghosh is honing a lot of skills for her upcoming role in the film "New York To Haridwar", it seems. After recently saying that she was taking lessons in pole dancing for the film, she now claims she is trying a hand at taekwondo for the role.

If she claimed she watched Jennifer Lopez in "Hustlers" to fine-tune her pole dancing skills, she says she would watch films like "Charlie's Angels" and "Fantastic Four" and draw inspiration from Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba and Cameron Diaz to ace the stunts.

"Urdu is something that's very fascinating. I had a little knowledge about it but did not know of the dialect. My director Ashok Tyagi sir has a very good hand on it and he patiently sat with me to teach me Urdu. It's a good learning curve so far," Payal said.

She hopes she does not let him down.

Mumbai, May 17 (Ians) Actress Payal Ghosh romances comedian Krushna Abhishek in the upcoming film "Red". She feels being good friends with her co-actor should help while portraying love on screen.

"Krushna and I are great friends. As co-actors it helps a great deal when you have that level of comfort. We will be romancing each other in the movie 'Red'. It's been a great learning from the entire crew and especially my director," Payal said.

Mumbai, Nov 17 (Ians) Actor Krushna Abhishek says his role in the upcoming psychological thriller, Red is inspired by the character Ajay Devgn essayed in the 2002 release, Deewangee. The Devgn thriller, incidentally, was influenced by the 1996 Hollywood hit, Primal Fear, starring Richard Gere and Edward Norton.

Krushna's character suffers from split personality in the film that, he promised, would keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

Mumbai, Nov 15 (Ians) Several celebrities from the Indian film fraternity paid their emotional tributes to Bangla cinema doyen Soumitra Chattopadhyay, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 85.

The Dadasaheb Phalke recipient thespian's demise was confirmed by a bulletin from Kolkata's Belle Vue Hospital, where he had received Covid treatment.

"We declare with heavy heart that Shri Soumitra Chattopadhyay breathed his last at 12.15 pm at Belle Vue Clinic today (15 November 2020). We pay our homage to his soul," said the hospital statement.

Mumbai, Oct 27 (Ians) Actress Payal Ghosh on Tuesday declared that she was isolating till she gets her Covid test done.

Payal had attended a political event with Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Monday, where she joined his political outfit, Republican Party of India - A. On Tuesday, Athawale announced that he has tested Covid positive.

Actress Payal Ghosh, who had accused film director Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment, on Wednesday arrived at North Block in the Capital and met Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy.

Actress Payal Ghosh on Saturday termed the MeToo movement in India as fake. The actress, who has levelled sexual harassment charges against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, has also questioned the authenticity of the movement that started two years ago in the country.

Mumbai Police have issued summons to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in connection with the sexual harassment charges levelled against him by actress Payal Ghosh. Kashyap has been summoned to appear at Versova Police Station on Thursday.

"A summons has been served to Anurag Kashyap by Versova police station to appear on 1.10.2020 for investigation of offence registered against him," reads an official statement shared by the Mumbai Police.

The summons by Mumbai Police to Kashyap has been issued just a day after Payal had a meeting with Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday. The actress was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale and her advocate Nitin Satpute.

Anurag Kashyap, the successful Indian filmmaker whose credits include Gangs of Wasseypur and Udaan, has denied allegations of sexual misconduct from actress Payal Ghosh.

Ghosh sent a tweet on Saturday saying that Kashyap had “forced himself” on her:

In response, Kashyap’s lawyer called the allegations “completely false, malicious and dishonest” and has promised legal action.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have surfaced against him, says his lawyer Priyanka Khimani, who feels that the MeToo movement has been reduced to a mere tool for character assassination.

On Saturday, actress Payal Ghosh alleged that Kashyap tried to molest her in 2014. Kashyap called the charge baseless.

After actress Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct, several celebrities from the industry have come forward to support the filmmaker, saying #MeToo movement should not be misused.

Actress Payal Ghosh has claimed that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap tried to molest her once, recalling an incident when he got naked in front of her and tried to get intimate with her.
