His first on-screen kiss was with Kirsten Dunst in Small Soldiers (1998).

His first gig was at the age of 14 months when he was in a Tide commercial.

He began acting seriously at the age of 6.

His hobbies are acting, rock climbing, soccer, rollerblading, and photography.

His father, Maurice Smith, is English-born (from London), and his mother, Terrea (Oster), is American-born (from California). Gregory has English, Ashkenazi Jewish, and small amounts of Dutch, German, Swedish, and Norwegian, ancestry.

I didn't start off doing my dad's movies or anything. I did it all on my own.

I like girls with a sense of humour. You meet people that sometimes you connect with. You have to be attracted to them physically, obviously, but mainly it's if someone gets you or not.

Since Everwood began, I've got a lot more to do but, other than that, I haven't changed. I still prefer to hang out with my friends and joke around. Work is pretty much all consuming, so my love life is kind of non-existent. There's nothing too glamorous about my life.
