It was the year 2000 when Star Trek: Voyager was in its sixth season, when new characters were introduced to the fold. From finding fame with Star Trek to losing it all when speaking in the Kevin Spacey-Anthony Rapp s*xual assault case, this actor might be one of the most controversial of them all.

It wasn’t just a case of saying the wrong things, but Manu Intiraymi, who portrayed the role of Icheb in Star Trek: Voyager, had his career taken away and his role getting recast, because of a bad choice.

In season 6 of Star Trek: Voyager, a storyline was introduced wherein the crew rescues a stranded vessel, and in that vessel are several Borg children. The story concludes with four teenagers joining our main heroes after losing their Borg identity.

Former Borg drone Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) was a mother figure and mentor to a group of ex-Borg children in Star Trek: Voyager. Voyager's Borg kids had been assimilated as children, just like Seven, who was only six years old when her parents' ship, the USS Raven, was caught after years of evading capture. Young Annika Hansen was the daughter of Erin and Mangus Hansen, Federation scientists whose study of the Borg brought them to the Delta Quadrant. Annika was too young to become a drone, so she was placed in a maturation chamber until she was older.

Recently liberated from the Borg Collective, Seven was still figuring out how to reclaim her own humanity when the USS Voyager encountered a Borg Cube that had been struck by a virus in Star Trek: Voyager season 6, episode 16, "Collective". One Star Trek: Picard character's death prevents a story involving Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) that would have been perfect for Star Trek: Legacy. Picking up about 20 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, Picard not only reintroduced Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) but also Star Trek: Voyager's Seven of Nine. After the USS Voyager returned from the Delta Quadrant, Seven applied to join Starfleet Academy but was rejected due to her past as a Borg. Sometime after this rejection, Seven joined the Fenris Rangers, a peacekeeping force operating along the Romulan Neutral Zone.

Seven of Nine was not the only former Borg drone among the USS Voyager's crew. In Star Trek: Voyager season 6, Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and her crew rescued four teenage Borg drones, one of whom was named Icheb (Manu Intiraymi). Seven became a mentor to Icheb and the others, helping them adjust to their new lives.

Aside from Tuvok, Star Trek: Voyager featured another Vulcan character in the form of Ensign Vorik. Vorik's introduction added depth to Voyager's crew and impacted major storylines like Tom and B'Elanna's relationship. Vorik's character was influenced by his predecessor Taurik from Star Trek: Tng's "Lower Decks," also played by Alexander Enberg.

Star Trek: Voyager's Vulcan Ensign Vorik (Alexander Enberg) became a recurring character in season 3 and had a surprising connection to Star Trek: The Next Generation. Voyager's cast of characters was one of the most diverse in the franchise at the time of its airing in 1995, and also included the first main character Vulcan since Star Trek: The Original Series in the form of Lieutenant Commander Tuvok (Tim Russ). However, Tuvok was not the only Vulcan introduced as a member of Voyager's crew.

Throughout Voyager's seven seasons, the show relied heavily on its supporting characters in addition to the main cast.

Q's appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation were some of the most compelling episodes, with Patrick Stewart and John de Lancie playing off each other well. Q has almost limitless power and a fascination with humanity, which led him to appear in multiple Star Trek series, including Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Picard. While Q's episodes varied in quality, his best outings included "All Good Things..." and "Q Who," which introduced the iconic villain, the Borg, to the franchise.

John de Lancie's Q became one of Star Trek's mostbeloved recurring characters from his first appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation. In his debut in Tng's premiere episode, Q antagonized Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the USS Enterprise-d, putting them on trial for the crimes of humanity. This trial would continue for all of Tng's run, with Q popping up nearly every season to annoy Picard some more.

Twilight and Expendables star Kellan Lutz takes on a thrilling action-packed role in Due Justice, seeking revenge for his murdered wife and kidnapped daughter. Lutz is no stranger to the action genre, having previously worked with Bruce Willis and starred in The Expendables franchise. Star Trek: Prodigy has always been a stealth sequel to Star Trek: Voyager, but the addition of 10 classic characters could make the continuation more explicit. Prodigy season 2 will continue the story of the young Starfleet hopefuls led by Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), as they work to rescue Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran) and the missing crew of the USS Protostar. Now that Dal R'El (Brett Gray) and his young team are working directly with the real-life Janeway instead of a hologram, there's a possibility that they could interact with more characters from Voyager.

For those of you who don’t know (you won’t), there’s a new sci-fi spoof on the way called Unbelievable!!!!! It stars Snoop Dogg, 42 former Star Trek actors, Michael Madsen, and a ficus on a skateboard. That ought to answer all of your questions.

In the can for what appears to have been an eternity (some of the footage dates back as far as 2013), the film does at last have a release date. I say at last, but I’m not sure it was at the top of anyone’s list of movie treasure troves. Anyway, if you’re feeling particularly trashy (there’s no shame in that), sit down for Unbelievable!!!!! in an online premiere this August 1st. The premiere will also come with a virtual convention.

Indie Rights has acquired domestic distribution rights to Unbelievable!!!!!, the Steven L. Fawcette-helmed sci-fi film that stars Snoop Dogg and over forty former Star Trek cast members from the movies and TV series. The company will also launch foreign sales at the Virtual Cannes Film Market on June 24.

The pic stars Kirk Stillwood, a puppet created by the Chiodo Brothers. It follows the crazy exploits of four off-beat astronauts (one is a marionette) who travel to the Moon on a rescue mission to determine the fate of two Space Agency comrades who have not been heard from in several days. The individuals they find at the Lunar Base are not who they appear to be and, through acts of trickery and deception, nearly succeed in killing them. Soon the astronauts find themselves trying to save the Earth from Plant Aliens!

“Star Trek: Picard” has flipped the script. So often in genre storytelling a female supporting character’s death is used simply as a way of adding to the experience and personality of a male protagonist. In “Stardust City Rag,” the latest episode of “Picard,” the roles are reversed. Following an even more shocking earlier murder, Bruce Maddox (John Ales), the robotics expert everyone has been seeking for the first five episodes is killed by his lover and protégé, Agnes Jurati (Allison Pill).

“For a lot of reasons, it made sense that Bruce Maddox would not make it through this episode,” episode writer and supervising producer Kirsten Beyer said. “The most important part was Jurati’s relationship to him and what it says about how committed she is to the mission she’s been assigned.”

Hell on the Border is a biographical western about the legendary Deputy U.S. Marshal, Bass Reeves. Born a slave in antebellum Arkansas, Reeves broke racial barriers by becoming the first black marshal west of the Mississippi River. He was an expert tracker, deadly with firearms, and a fierce proponent of the law. Director/writer Wes Miller accurately portrays Reeves' struggle earning his badge; but fails mightily to produce a cohesive film. Hell on the Border wastes a veteran cast of Hollywood stalwarts, has shoddy editing, and a dismal production design. Bass Reeves has a story that needs to be told. Hell on the Border shines a spotlight on the lawman, but fails in almost every other regard.

Based on the true life story of Bass Reeves, a legendary tough African American cowboy in the Wild West. David Gyasi stars as Bass Reeves, the first black deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River. He worked mostly in Arkansas and the Oklahoma Territory. During his long career, he was credited with arresting more than 3,000 felons. He shot and killed 14 outlaws in self-defense. Sounds like quite a badass, alas this trailer isn't that badass after all. "I want to see the future..." "What's in the future...?" Another compelling short film to watch, with a bit of a sci-fi twist. Instant is a short film directed by Alex Albrecht, produced by Roddenberry Entertainment, lead by Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry, who is the son of legendary Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barrett. After a desperate criminal takes a bar hostage, six people must face their demons - past and present - in order to survive. But one of them is keeping a big secret that could change everything in an instant. The film stars Tyler Hilton, Manu Intiraymi, Phil Morris, Emily Chang, Tony Janning, and Tara Perry. This short has a few strong performances, working with an intriguing script that explores some engaging ideas. I wish this was a bit shorter, might be more effective, but it's still a good short. It’s a Trekkie delight. No idea why so many Star Trek actors thought this was a great idea, but they did. Snoop Dogg seems to be the furthest thing away from sci-fi as you can get, but he’s one of the stars Unbelievable, a parody film that uses a puppet for James T. Kirk. Watch the trailer for below.
