Star Trek: Picard May Have Dropped One Voyager Actor for Controversial Comments Against Anthony Rapp, Who Accused Kevin Spacey of S*xual Assault
Image
It was the year 2000 when Star Trek: Voyager was in its sixth season, when new characters were introduced to the fold. From finding fame with Star Trek to losing it all when speaking in the Kevin Spacey-Anthony Rapp s*xual assault case, this actor might be one of the most controversial of them all.

It wasn’t just a case of saying the wrong things, but Manu Intiraymi, who portrayed the role of Icheb in Star Trek: Voyager, had his career taken away and his role getting recast, because of a bad choice.

Manu Intiraymi portrayed the role of Icheb in Star Trek: Voyager | Credits: Paramount Network Television Manu Intiraymi’s comments were controversial enough

In season 6 of Star Trek: Voyager, a storyline was introduced wherein the crew rescues a stranded vessel, and in that vessel are several Borg children. The story concludes with four teenagers joining our main heroes after losing their Borg identity.

Seven Of Nine’s Borg “Children” On Star Trek: Voyager Explained
Image
Former Borg drone Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) was a mother figure and mentor to a group of ex-Borg children in Star Trek: Voyager. Voyager's Borg kids had been assimilated as children, just like Seven, who was only six years old when her parents' ship, the USS Raven, was caught after years of evading capture. Young Annika Hansen was the daughter of Erin and Mangus Hansen, Federation scientists whose study of the Borg brought them to the Delta Quadrant. Annika was too young to become a drone, so she was placed in a maturation chamber until she was older.

Recently liberated from the Borg Collective, Seven was still figuring out how to reclaim her own humanity when the USS Voyager encountered a Borg Cube that had been struck by a virus in Star Trek: Voyager season 6, episode 16, "Collective". The virus rendered the Cube all but inert, killing all the drones...

Star Trek: Voyagers Infamous Delaney Sisters Explained
Image
Star Trek: Voyager's Delaney sisters (Alissa and Heidi Kramer) became an infamous part of the series despite only appearing in one episode. Voyager's cast of characters included a diverse group, from Star Trek's first female Captain, Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) to the first Vulcan in a show since Star Trek: The Original Series as well as the first Vulcan character of color, Tuvok (Tim Russ). However, Voyager's casting diversity also extended to the series' recurring characters.

Like many Star Trek shows from the 1990s era, Voyager included a great group of recurring guest stars that filled out the world of the show and added more complexity to its cast. The most notable members of this group were characters like Naomi (Scarlett Pomers) and Samantha Wildman (Nacy Hower), but other characters like Vorik (Alexander Enberg) or Icheb (Manu Intiraymi) added some interesting storylines to later seasons. Besides these characters,...

Star Trek: Picard Season 1 Will Regret This Tragic Character Death If Legacy Ever Happens
Image
One Star Trek: Picard character's death prevents a story involving Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) that would have been perfect for Star Trek: Legacy. Picking up about 20 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, Picard not only reintroduced Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) but also Star Trek: Voyager's Seven of Nine. After the USS Voyager returned from the Delta Quadrant, Seven applied to join Starfleet Academy but was rejected due to her past as a Borg. Sometime after this rejection, Seven joined the Fenris Rangers, a peacekeeping force operating along the Romulan Neutral Zone.

Seven of Nine was not the only former Borg drone among the USS Voyager's crew. In Star Trek: Voyager season 6, Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and her crew rescued four teenage Borg drones, one of whom was named Icheb (Manu Intiraymi). Seven became a mentor to Icheb and the others, helping them adjust to their new lives.

Star Trek: Voyagers Vulcan Vorik & Alexander Enbergs Tng Connection Explained
Image
Aside from Tuvok, Star Trek: Voyager featured another Vulcan character in the form of Ensign Vorik. Vorik's introduction added depth to Voyager's crew and impacted major storylines like Tom and B'Elanna's relationship. Vorik's character was influenced by his predecessor Taurik from Star Trek: Tng's "Lower Decks," also played by Alexander Enberg.

Star Trek: Voyager's Vulcan Ensign Vorik (Alexander Enberg) became a recurring character in season 3 and had a surprising connection to Star Trek: The Next Generation. Voyager's cast of characters was one of the most diverse in the franchise at the time of its airing in 1995, and also included the first main character Vulcan since Star Trek: The Original Series in the form of Lieutenant Commander Tuvok (Tim Russ). However, Tuvok was not the only Vulcan introduced as a member of Voyager's crew.

Throughout Voyager's seven seasons, the show relied heavily on its supporting characters in addition to the main cast.

Every Q Star Trek Appearance Ranked Worst To Best
Image
Q's appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation were some of the most compelling episodes, with Patrick Stewart and John de Lancie playing off each other well. Q has almost limitless power and a fascination with humanity, which led him to appear in multiple Star Trek series, including Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Picard. While Q's episodes varied in quality, his best outings included "All Good Things..." and "Q Who," which introduced the iconic villain, the Borg, to the franchise.

John de Lancie's Q became one of Star Trek's mostbeloved recurring characters from his first appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation. In his debut in Tng's premiere episode, Q antagonized Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of the USS Enterprise-d, putting them on trial for the crimes of humanity. This trial would continue for all of Tng's run, with Q popping up nearly every season to annoy Picard some more.

Due Justice is the latest film in the never-ending line of Taken wannabes where a former badass has to go back into action to rescue their kidnapped daughter. In this case, it’s Max an attorney who, along with his boss Claire are lawyers celebrating winning their latest case when Max hears a familiar voice from across the restaurant.

It’s his brother Jerry who isn’t happy to see him, probably due to the company he’s dining with. As it turns out, Jerry was undercover for the FBI and that meeting triggered the suspicion of Ellis, Roxy and their crew. It’s not long before both Jerry and Max’s wife are dead, and his daughter abducted while he’s at the office working late.

12 Star Trek Actors Who Appeared On The X-Files
Image
Star Trek and The X-Files had many actors in common due to their episodic formats and the need for new actors each episode to portray aliens or monsters. Notable actors who appeared in both shows include Callum Keith Rennie, Mark Sheppard, Terry O'Quinn, Tony Todd, and Susanna Thompson. Other actors who crossed over include Kurtwood Smith, Penny Johnson Jerald, Denise Crosby, Andrew Robinson, and Anthony Rapp, showcasing the interconnectedness of these popular science fiction series.

As two of the most popular science fiction shows of all time, Star Trek and The X-Files share not only much of the same audience, but also many of the same actors. From the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the USS Enterprise-d to those of Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) and space station Deep Space 9, Star Trek had a presence on television throughout all of the 1990s. With their episodic formats, both...

Kellan Lutz & Jeff Fahey in Action Thriller 'Due Justice' Official Trailer
Image
"You tell me where my money is, and I'll return your daughter to you" Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller titled Due Justice, both written and directed by filmmaker Javier Reyna. Yet another of these junk action films getting dumped out on VOD, way too many of them this year. If that title wasn't a hint already, this is obviously about a guy getting "due justice" by going for revenge and going after the people who harmed him. Of course. A very American story. An attorney with a military past hunts down the gang who killed his wife and brother and took his daughter. Filled with shady characters and the Feds and all the usuals. Due Justice stars Kellan Lutz, Jeff Fahey, & Efren Ramirez, with Cynthia Geary, Manu Intiraymi, Chelsea Lopez, and David Jofre. Yeah this movie looks as uninteresting as it sounds. // Continue Reading...

10 Star Trek Voyager Characters Can Make Prodigy A True Sequel
Image
Star Trek: Prodigy has always been a stealth sequel to Star Trek: Voyager, but the addition of 10 classic characters could make the continuation more explicit. Prodigy season 2 will continue the story of the young Starfleet hopefuls led by Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), as they work to rescue Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran) and the missing crew of the USS Protostar. Now that Dal R'El (Brett Gray) and his young team are working directly with the real-life Janeway instead of a hologram, there's a possibility that they could interact with more characters from Voyager.

Actor Garrett Wang has recently stated that his Star Trek: Voyager character, Harry Kim belongs to Star Trek: Prodigy. This creates the possibility that more Voyager characters will appear in Prodigy as Janeway seeks help in locating Chakotay and his missing crew. Star Trek canon has established that, except for Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), many members of...

Sci-Fi Spoof Featuring 42 Star Trek Actors To Premiere This August
This is one for the C-movie connoisseurs among you.

For those of you who don’t know (you won’t), there’s a new sci-fi spoof on the way called Unbelievable!!!!! It stars Snoop Dogg, 42 former Star Trek actors, Michael Madsen, and a ficus on a skateboard. That ought to answer all of your questions.

In the can for what appears to have been an eternity (some of the footage dates back as far as 2013), the film does at last have a release date. I say at last, but I’m not sure it was at the top of anyone’s list of movie treasure troves. Anyway, if you’re feeling particularly trashy (there’s no shame in that), sit down for Unbelievable!!!!! in an online premiere this August 1st. The premiere will also come with a virtual convention.

Two more items on the agenda to go through. One is the trailer,...

The company will also launch foreign sales at the Virtual Cannes Film Market on June 24.

It follows the crazy exploits of four off-beat astronauts (one is a marionette) who travel to the Moon on a rescue mission to determine the fate of two Space Agency comrades who have not been heard from in several days. The individuals they find at the Lunar Base are not who they appear to be and, through acts of trickery and deception, nearly succeed in killing them. Soon the astronauts find themselves trying to save the Earth from Plant Aliens!

‘Picard’: The Most Violent ‘Star Trek’ Scene Ever, and Why Seven of Nine’s Story Needed It
Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, and Ed Speleers in Star Trek: Picard (2020)
[Editor’s Note: The following interview contains spoilers for the “Star Trek: Picard” episode “Stardust City Rag.”]

“Star Trek: Picard” has flipped the script. So often in genre storytelling a female supporting character’s death is used simply as a way of adding to the experience and personality of a male protagonist. In “Stardust City Rag,” the latest episode of “Picard,” the roles are reversed. Following an even more shocking earlier murder, Bruce Maddox (John Ales), the robotics expert everyone has been seeking for the first five episodes is killed by his lover and protégé, Agnes Jurati (Allison Pill).

“For a lot of reasons, it made sense that Bruce Maddox would not make it through this episode,” episode writer and supervising producer Kirsten Beyer said. “The most important part was Jurati’s relationship to him and what it says about how committed she is to the mission she’s been assigned.”

Rather than just adding another new character in a...

Hell on the Border Review: Legendary Frontier Marshal Gets a Shoddy Western
Ron Perlman, Frank Grillo, David Gyasi, and Michael Aaron Milligan in Hell on the Border (2019)
Hell on the Border is a biographical western about the legendary Deputy U.S. Marshal, Bass Reeves. Born a slave in antebellum Arkansas, Reeves broke racial barriers by becoming the first black marshal west of the Mississippi River. He was an expert tracker, deadly with firearms, and a fierce proponent of the law. Director/writer Wes Miller accurately portrays Reeves' struggle earning his badge; but fails mightily to produce a cohesive film. Hell on the Border wastes a veteran cast of Hollywood stalwarts, has shoddy editing, and a dismal production design. Bass Reeves has a story that needs to be told. Hell on the Border shines a spotlight on the lawman, but fails in almost every other regard.

David Gyasi stars as Bass Reeves. The film opens in 1875 with Reeves as a posseman in Indian Territory near Fort Smith, Arkansas. He does the legwork apprehending mouthy cattle rustler, Charlie Storm...

‘Cross: Rise of the Villains’ DVD Review
Stars: Brian Austin Green, Lori Heuring, Vinnie Jones, Danny Trejo, Patrick Durham, Tim Abell, André Gordon, Juhahn Jones, Asa Holley, Jenny Cooper, Carson Lee Bradshaw, D.B. Sweeney, Lou Ferrigno, Jeremy London, Eric Roberts, Jordan Rachel, Paige Annette, Tom Sizemore, Jack August, Manu Intiraymi | Written by Patrick Durham | Directed by Patrick Durham, Paul G. Volk

Sooooo… Cross 3. It’s safe to say No-one ever expected this, even though it was hinted at in the last film! In fact how the hell, did star Brian Austin Green and writer/co-director Patrick Durham even manage to secure the funding to produce this film? No-one ever really wanted the 2017 Cross sequel, Cross Wars, and I have no doubt the audience for a Third film is even smaller.

But here we are, it’s 2019 and the low-budget superhero series continues, obviously still trying to ride the superhero hype wave – whether comic-book movie loving audiences will...

David Gyasi is a Us Marshal in Trailer for Western 'Hell on the Border'
"Is there anybody that'll ride with 'em?" "I will." Lionsgate has released an official trailer for an indie "epic, action-packed Western" titled Hell on the Border. Based on the true life story of Bass Reeves, a legendary tough African American cowboy in the Wild West. David Gyasi stars as Bass Reeves, the first black deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River. He worked mostly in Arkansas and the Oklahoma Territory. During his long career, he was credited with arresting more than 3,000 felons. He shot and killed 14 outlaws in self-defense. Sounds like quite a badass, alas this trailer isn't that badass after all. Hell on the Border also stars Frank Grillo, Zahn McClarnon, Randy Wayne, Manu Intiraymi, Rudy Youngblood, Ashley Atwood, and Ron Perlman. Looks like this might be entertaining, with some solid action scenes to boot. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Wes Miller's Hell on the Border,...

Watch: Captivating Sci-Fi Short 'Instant' Produced by Roddenberry Ent.
"I want to see the future..." "What's in the future...?" Another compelling short film to watch, with a bit of a sci-fi twist. Instant is a short film directed by Alex Albrecht, produced by Roddenberry Entertainment, lead by Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry, who is the son of legendary Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barrett. After a desperate criminal takes a bar hostage, six people must face their demons - past and present - in order to survive. But one of them is keeping a big secret that could change everything in an instant. The film stars Tyler Hilton, Manu Intiraymi, Phil Morris, Emily Chang, Tony Janning, and Tara Perry. This short has a few strong performances, working with an intriguing script that explores some engaging ideas. I wish this was a bit shorter, might be more effective, but it's still a good short. Enjoy. Thanks to SyFy Wire for the tip on this.

Dozens Of ‘Star Trek’ Actors Converge For Snoop Dogg’s Parody Pic ‘Unbelievable’ – Watch The Trailer
It’s a Trekkie delight. No idea why so many Star Trek actors thought this was a great idea, but they did. Snoop Dogg seems to be the furthest thing away from sci-fi as you can get, but he’s one of the stars Unbelievable, a parody film that uses a puppet for James T. Kirk. Watch the trailer for below.

The original score was written/composed by Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated Gerald Fried — the last living composer from the original Star Trek series.

Snoop Dogg executive produced the film from writer-director Steven Fawcette that also stars Nichelle Nichols (who also co-produced), Angelique Fawcette (also a producer), Michael Madsen and Robert Davi. Also in the film are Casper Smart, Sam Asghari, Gilbert Gottfried and newcomer Katarina Van Derham.

Here are some of the 40-plus Star Trek actors who also appear: Garrett Wang, Chase Masterson Tim Russ, Armin Shimerman, Vaughn Armstrong, Gary Graham,...
