Finding another hit with her newest television series, Smallville star Kristin Kreuk will return for another season of Murder in a Small Town.

Per Deadline, it has been revealed that Murder in a Small Town has been renewed by Fox for Season 2. Fortunately for the series, it fell under the new "cost-effective international content strategy" at the network, helping to secure the renewal. The show reportedly costs less than $1 million per episode for network-quality content, and better yet, it garnered high viewership. Murder in a Small Town reportedly ranks among the Top 3 new shows for Fox series on Hulu, as well as for all Fox content from the 2024-25 television season. The pilot episode alone drew 11 million viewers to date across platforms.

Fox confirmed a second season of the crime drama, based on the Karl Alberg series of novels by L.R. Wright.

This is Fox’s first renewal of live-action scripted TV show for the 2025-26 season, via THR.

Season 1 came to an end in November.

The network has renewed the show, which is based on the Karl Alberg series of novels by L.R. Wright, for a second season. The pickup for Murder in a Small Town marks Fox’s first renewal of live-action scripted show for the 2025-26 season.

The series, produced by Sepia Films in association with Fox Entertainment and Future Shack Entertainment, also airs on Canada’s Global networks. Season one’s eight-episode run concluded in November.

An unfulfilled guest star appearance by Katee Sackhoff on The Office would have been a perfect callback to Jim's iconic line mocking Dwight's Battlestar Galactica obsession. Rainn Wilson revealed that the show tried to get Sackhoff to appear on The Office either as herself or a character Dwight encounters, but it never worked out. For the 15th anniversary of the "Battlestar Galactica" finale, I spoke with several of the show's writers and actors for an inside look at how it reached that conclusion. One of them was David Eick, the series' co-creator (with Ronald D. Moore). I asked the man who resurrected "Galactica" out of its campy 1970s roots why attempts to keep the franchise going faltered.

You see, "Battlestar" hadn't even been finished a year when a prequel spin-off debuted: "Caprica," an ensemble drama set more than 50 years before the series on the eponymous planet (one of the 12 colonies razed by the robotic Cylons at the outset of "Battlestar Galactica"). The series debuted in January 2010 and wrapped that November after a single, 19-episode first season -- its planned multi-year run aborted by low ratings.

Next, Eick and co. pivoted with "Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome," a second prequel (but after "Caprica") set during the first human/Cylon war.

Fox is rounding out the cast of its international drama series “Murder in a Small Town.”

James Cromwell, Stana Katic, Mya Lowe, Savonna Spracklin, Aaron Douglas, and Fritzy-Klevans Destine have all joined the series. Cromwell and Katic will appear in guest star roles, while the other four will be recurring guest stars.

The new cast members joins previously announced series leads Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk in the show, which is based on the nine-book Karl Alberg novel series by L.R. Wright. The show, to which Fox has acquired the U.S. rights, is slated to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season and will be shot in British Columbia. It marks Fox’s first scripted series co-produced with an international studio.

For such an exposition heavy episode, “Three Pages” still finds plenty of time to move the core Van Helsing tale forward, and at the same time clearly demonstrate the show’s continued willingness to provide real stakes for the characters no matter how important they seem to be to the overall narrative. Penned by showrunner Jonathan Lloyd Walker and Gorrman Lee, season four’s penultimate chapter skillfully sets up what promises to be a blockbuster season finale and leaves ample room for a continuation of Vanessa Van Helsing’s hero’s journey.

“You pathetic old hags.”

It’s reasonable to think the revelation of a relatively intact United States government and military might be the most compelling reveal to emerge from the latest episode of Van Helsing. Nope. “All Apologies” throws a little shapeshifting into the mix, and as long as Sgt. Miller and Julius can control the growing Van Helsing army, there may even be a flicker of light at the end of the apocalyptic tunnel.

We receive verification that the inner circle vampires possess shapeshifting abilities, a power that neatly coincides with Hansen’s revised allegiance to the Dark One and her followers. Despite the present concern he exhibits for Violet and Jack, we’ve rightly questioned his motives.
