In a new interview, the 63-year-old “All I Wanna Do” singer shared a scary story when an armed man appeared on her property shortly after she sold her Tesla in protest of Elon Musk using Doge to cut what she considers government services.
Keep reading to find out more…“This feels different, because when I came out against Walmart carrying guns [in a 1996 song], not everybody was armed — and certainly I didn’t live in Tennessee, where everybody is armed,” Sheryl shared with Variety.
“So yeah, there was a moment where I actually really felt very afraid: A man got on my property, in my barn, who was armed,” she continued. “It doesn’t feel safe when you’re dealing with people who are so committed.”

This Sunday, CNN’s “United States of Scandal with Jake Tapper” revisits one of the most notorious deceptions in sports history: the downfall of Lance Armstrong. For years, Armstrong was cycling’s golden boy, a cancer survivor who inspired millions with his athletic prowess and seemingly unbreakable spirit. But beneath the surface, a web of lies was […]

When people tune into "The Simpsons," there are a few things they expect: social commentary, everyone staying the same age, and couch gags. Since the show's first season, audiences get to see the titular family arrive home and then sit down on their brown couch in some humorous fashion. At first, the gags were simple, like the couch falling apart as soon as they sit down. But after over three decades on the air, "The Simpsons" has needed to up the ante by getting more surreal and complex, like Homer going through a portal and winding up in "Bob's Burgers."
Sadly, anyone who watches a new "Simpsons" episode may be dismayed to find that the couch gag has largely gone away. Season 36's "Shoddy Heat" may have answered how Homer has never lost his job, but the story just starts, which feels... wrong. Couch gags still pop up every so often,...

Jake Tapper is broadening his definition of American impropriety.
The CNN anchor, who last year offered viewers a different side of his reportage with the documentary series, “United States of Scandal,’ will return for a second season starting March 9, still looking at political malfeasance but examining other areas as well.
“Last year we did a lot of D.C. politics and a lot of sex scandals,” Tapper notes during an interview. For the show’s next cycle, “we really tried to expand our aperture and look more widely at the American mosaic of sports and pop culture and business, and I think people will like it.”
“Scandal” is one of several CNN efforts to carry on with documentary programming despite cost pressures. Under Jeff Zucker, who ran CNN for a decade, the network built a new business in non-fiction programming that gave rise to celebrated travelogue programs from Anthony Bourdain...

With her Harry Potter books, which were later adapted into a popular and successful film series, author J.K. Rowling raised and inspired several generations of children around the world. The series is currently being adapted for television, but despite the fact that the series is still one of the most cherished ones of all time, the author has recently been in the spotlight not because of her works, but because of politics.
As you probably know – regardless of whether you’ve read all our reports or not – Rowling has recently been leading a crusade against transgender people, and while some of her stances initially had the value of an argument, she has now taken it so far that most fans consider her to be an annoying bigot, as even the Harry Potter stars have – more or less – distanced themselves from her.

With Marvel movies being so prolific, it is a shame that one of the most underrated actors of this generation was wasted on two of them. While the MCU now dominates the superhero genre, live-action Marvel movies have been on the scene since the 1990s with Wesley Snipes' Blade trilogy. Snipes' legacy as the character that arguably kicked off the modern superhero genre was recently paid tribute in Deadpool & Wolverine, in which he cameos alongside several other actors who starred in Marvel movies of yesteryear.
These cameos mostly focused on Fox's X-Men franchise, given Deadpool was once a part of it himself before Deadpool & Wolverine migrated the character over to the MCU in earnest. Cassandra Nova's compound featured many villains from X-Men movies, while those that fought on the side of the X-Men, like James Marsden's Cyclops and Halle Berry's Storm, were notably absent. J.K. Rowling and female ex-athletes are among those criticizing the inclusion of transgender Italian sprinter Valentina Petrillo in the Paris Paralympics.
Rowling, the Harry Potter author, described Petrillo as a “cheat” after she qualified for the women’s T12 400m semi-finals on Monday. Petrillo will feature in the semi-finals this evening.
Petrillo, 51, competed as a male athlete until the age of 45, winning national titles in men’s track and field. The visually-impaired sprinter had two children before identifying as a woman.
Petrillo is allowed to compete in the women’s T12 field because World Para Athletics allows those legally recognized as a woman to take part. To qualify, athletes must provide evidence that their testosterone level in serum has been below 10 nmol/L for a year.
Rowling, a vocal and prominent critic of transgender rights, joked on X/Twitter that Petrillo’s inclusion means that drugs cheat Lance Armstrong should...

In recent years, L.A. entertainment and sports mogul Casey Wasserman has successfully striven to be perceived as his own man. A power player in his own right — not firstly the well-connected grandson of late Hollywood mogul Lew Wasserman, the McA/Universal head and political fixer. Along with recent industry acquisitions, including Paradigm’s music business and management firm Brillstein Partners, he led L.A.’s successful bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics and now leads the games’ organizing committee.
But at his 50th birthday blowout on June 28, Wasserman reminded everyone of the relationship. (He took the surname as an adult; Lew is his maternal grandfather.)

One of the most beloved characters to ever come out of a Saturday Night Live sketch is MacGruber, played by Will Forte, who went on to appear in his own movie, streaming TV show and several rejected Super Bowl commercials for a soda company we won’t name, but let’s just say it rhymes with “Schmepsi.”
But as hard as it may be to believe, the MacGyver parody wasn’t written for Forte. In fact, it was first conceived of by SNL writer and Lonely Islander Jorma Taccone for one of SNL’s high-profile celebrity guests: the less-than-hilarious Lance Armstrong. In retrospect, missing out on the chance to play MacGruber probably doesn’t even crack the top 50,000 Lance Amrstrong career missteps.
According to Taccone, he originally pitched a sketch in which “Lance Armstrong would play MacGyver’s stepbrother MacGruber.” Unlike his famous relative, MacGruber would defuse bombs, not with paper clips and chewing gum,...

In a keynote conversation Tuesday at Copenhagen’s leading international documentary festival Cph:dox, Academy Award winning filmmaker and producer Alex Gibney talked honestly about the winding road of making it in the documentary world, the creative process, and the lessons of life, partly learned from singer-songwriter Paul Simon.
The inspirational talk at the baroque Kunsthal Charlottenborg exhibition space, with moderator Thom Powers, Toronto Film Festival programmer, was a prelude to the festival’s screening of Gibney’s two-part doc “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon,” which debuted on MGM+ March 17.
“What I learned from Paul was that when he wrote ‘The Sound of Silence,’ he sat alone and words came to him; creativity started to flow, and just like Bob Dylan with ‘Mr. Tambourine Man,’ [the song] suddenly fit and he felt like a conduit.”
Gibney said letting free associations take over, having an unguarded curiosity and generosity were some...

The Simpsons season 35, episode 10 is based on a real-life viral news story, showcasing the show's ability for timely political satire. The episode references various real scandals, such as the Lake Erie Walleye Trail scandal, Varsity Blues scandal, and Lance Armstrong's doping scandal. Despite the show's tendency for quirky misadventures, the episode strikes a better balance by grounding its inciting incident in reality, making Bart and Homer's antics feel believable.

The Simpsons often features elements of timely political satire. The Simpsons famously had a long-running feud with former President H. W. Warning: This article contains Spoilers for The Simpsons season 35, episode 10.
The Simpsons season 35, episode 10 successfully incorporated timely satire through subtle and unobtrusive gags. Weaker attempts at topical satire in previous seasons felt forced and unrelated to the episode's storyline. The successful gag in episode 10 showed that The Simpsons can seamlessly integrate timely jokes into its plot.
While The Simpsons season 35, episode 10 was not flawless, the outing did manage to solve a problem that plagued recent seasons of the long-running animated series. As a satirical TV comedy, The Simpsons has always poked fun at relevant news stories. However, the show’s lengthy production process and family-friendly tone mean that The Simpsons focuses less on timely political satire than its competitors, like South Park. It can take between six and nine months to produce an episode of The Simpsons, while most South Park outings are created in only five days, giving the...

Disgraced champion cyclist Lance Armstrong revealed how he managed to avoid being caught doing drugs for years during his time as an athlete.
“Well, in a sense, you would foil the system, but what I always said – and I’m not trying to justify anything that I ever said as something I would want to repeat again – but one of the lines was, ‘I’ve been tested 500 times, I’ve never failed a drug test,'” he told comedian Bill Maher on his podcast.
“That’s not a lie. That is the truth. There was no way around the test. When I p—ed in the cup and they tested this p— in the cup, it passed,” Armstrong added. “Now, the reality and the truth of all of this is some of these substances, primarily the one that is the most beneficial, has a four-hour half-life.”

Guest appearances and celebrity cameos are some of the top-tier moments in movies and whether they're big or small, most of them are pretty memorable for audiences. Most film fans can catch a familiar face like Lance Armstrong in Dodgeball and Chris Pine's brief appearance in Free Guy, but it's a lot harder to spot the cameos made by real-life individuals who are crucial to the movie.

Sister Wives' Kody Brown pretends to be strong, but he's ultimately a weak guy. He's often attacked, and tends to freak out. Kody's vulnerability's apparent in season 18, making him seem wimpy at times. He's running away instead of facing problems. Kody's favoritism towards Robyn, and his dishonesty about that, have caused his other wives to turn on him. He seems to have lost his sense of self.
Sister Wives' Kody Brown puts on a macho act with his "bros," rapping about sacred loneliness and the like, but he's ultimately quite a weak guy. While he's into many stereotypical "man things," from driving fast cars to enjoying ego-soaked "Testosterone Tuesdays," his sense of self's remarkably fragile. When he's attacked, he freaks out. However, that doesn't stop him from doing everything he can to look like a patriarch who has it all together. Clearly, he'll cling to his delusions even if it kills him.

Documentarian Marina Zenovich is adept at exploring the lives of complicated men. From Lance Armstrong to Roman Polanski to Robin Williams, the two-time Emmy winner has tackled subjects who have summited the heights of their professions and endured the humiliating depths as well. Her latest protagonist, former California Gov. Jerry Brown, fits the bill precisely, having done what no other politician has done — lead the country’s most populous and economically vital state over four terms.
But Brown had his failures too. The progressive Democrat fell short three times as a presidential candidate including a contentious bid for White House in 1992 that saw him politically bludgeoned by the more moderate Clintons. With ‘Jerry Brown: The Disrupter,’ which bows tonight on PBS, Zenovich takes the viewer through the California icon’s improbable arc, first elected governor at 36 years old and again at 72 with an Oakland mayor stint in between. Amazon's Jack Ryan series made several changes to the characters from Tom Clancy's novels, particularly Jack's mentor, James Greer. The show delved into Greer's faith, past mistakes, and personal life, making him a more well-rounded character than in previous adaptations. Unlike in the films, Greer's career progresses in Jack Ryan, and his relationship with Jack is explored, going from initial aversion to mutual respect and trust.
Amazon's Jack Ryan series instituted a number of changes to the characters first introduced in Tom Clancy’s spy novels, and many of these changes involve Jack’s mentor, James Greer. Ariel Winter to Stars on Mars: It’s time to blast off.
The Modern Family actress was the second celebrity in two weeks to bow out of the Fox reality show, which has cast celebs like Natasha Leggero, Marshawn Lynch, Adam Rippon, Ronda Rousey and Tallulah Willis to colonize, compete and conquer “Mars” until there is one victorious space invader, who will claim the title of “the brightest star in the galaxy.”
“I came here, I didn’t think I was going to make it past mission one,” the actress said on Monday’s Episode 10. “I’ve overcome a lot of things. I never thought I would rapell down a cliff. Absolutely not. But I loved being on this team. I even enjoyed missions, even hard ones, in a stupid ass suit. But as you know, I love the word fair. I was not mission critical today and I feel like I deserve to go.

Lance Armstrong, 51, was called a hypocrite by social media users after he tweeted about the “fairness of trans athletes in sport” this past weekend.
In 2012, Armstrong’s seven Tour de France titles were taken away after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency discovered he used performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career. He later admitted to doping during a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Armstrong received a lifetime ban from competing in professional cycling.
The former cyclist is planning to discuss the topic of transgender athletes competing against cisgender athletes on his podcast, The Forward. He shared a clip from the series in which he travels to Caitlyn Jenner‘s home in Malibu, California. The podcast begins on Monday, June 26.
Have we really come to a time and place where spirited debate is not only frowned upon, but feared? Where people’s greatest concern is being fired, shamed or cancelled? As someone all too familiar with this phenomenon,...

Two-thirds of the route to a great documentary is the subject matter - and Alex Holmes certainly knows how to spot it. He previously brought Tracy Edwards against-the-odds yacht race tale to screen in Maiden and he’s alighted on another great fight-amid-adversity story with the career of Greg LeMond.
In recent years, the documentary arena surrounding cycling and the Tour De France has mostly focused on the negative side of the sport, thrust into the spotlight by shamed doping-scandal cyclist Lance Armstrong (Holmes himself previously directed Stop At Nothing: The Lance Armstrong Story). Here, with the determined but personable Tour De France winner LeMond, the documentarian offers the flipside of that.
The structure of the documentary itself is formulaic but well executed. LeMond appears as a talking head interview against a tranquil blue background, driving his story from his first go at cycling to the most remarkable win of.

It is the most well known cycling event. Even those who have no interest or even understanding of the sport will have heard of the Tour de France. A grueling multi-stage race, the champions will go down as the greats – while its controversies have spawned television documentaries of their own.

Ariel Winter got off to a rough start on the Fox reality show Stars on Mars. The Modern Family star admitted that her worst fear was saying something embarrassing while on the series, and within her few minutes aboard the faux space station, that fear was realized. When cycling champion Lance Armstrong came aboard, she confused him for the late Neil Armstrong, pioneering astronaut. The good thing about instantly making such a huge fumble, though, was that she could only go up from there.
Now, she might be rising all the way to the top as the next base commander, in charge of leading the crew through 48 hours of trials and at least one emergency mission. An exclusive clip from tonight’s new episodes shows Winter’s fellow crew mates nominating her to take the lead.

On Fox's new reality series Stars On Mars, twelve "celebronauts" compete to see who has what it takes to colonize the Red Planet. The cast receives assignments from legendary actor William Shatner, who is perfect for the role, as he has some experience with space himself. Not only did the 92-year-old actor play Captain James T. Dodgeball 2 is officially in production. Dodgeball, now a gold standard in dumb American comedies, is more than deserving of a sequel for sure — back in the early 2000s when it was actually popular. But does it really need a follow-up now? To put that into context, since then we have had two terms with the first Black president, superheroes have dominated box offices consistently, David Bowie died, and US troops finally withdrew forces from Afghanistan.
Dodgeball, starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller, focused on a struggling gym that takes part in a dodgeball tournament to win a grand prize and save their business.
