An homage to the iconic actor, as well as to the escape that film can provide, it's sung from the point of view of a young woman, disappointed and heartbroken by her local romantic possibitlites, who takes solace in the poster of Robert De Niro that waits in her bedroom. She imagines a handsome, 40-year old De Niro coming to her, "talking Italian," and sings, "This is my only escape from it all / Watching a film or a face on the wall."
