- The failing fashion magazine Fashion World becomes in leadership of a new inspiring editor-in-chief: Rebecca Johansson. Her new assistant will be the ambitious Ellis, fresh from the countryside.
- Handsome, balanced Teun somehow is charmed, from his first session on a dating site, like her, by neurotic, too outspoken Sophie, who just got separated but keeps messing up the already flawed site chat. Gay friends and kin encourage each of them to persevere.
- How Teun started on the dating site. Christo encourages Sophie -now sharing the house with her ex and his 'whore' on different floors- to persevere, despite Teun seemingly being missing and confused with an unattractive Teun, with flash-backs to his own daring search for a gay mate, which yielded yummy tropical (Moluccan?) house-mate Manuel. .
- Sophie despairs about finding Teun again, or someone as nice, but actually misses the first opportunity due to pointless bickering with her old-fashioned mother. Furthermore she takes bad advice from her call center bitch friend and questions gay confident Christo's frank, mostly sounds, albeit somewhat contradictory advice.
- Altough well-coached by Christo, who even is gay lover Manuel perform a saucy dance for her birthday, Sophie gets completely lost in pointless bickering with baking mother and otherwise occupied brother Max as well as ex Peter. She does not only misses a unique chance to talk to Teun again, while she rudely shows no interest in anyone else, but also sees him in female company and fails to let him explain.
- When informed Sophie is pregnant, Christo, her family and friends react diversely. She ignores the father and has no actual relationship, yet stupidly maintains her haughty hostility, especially against ex Peter.
- Sophie's vociferous refusal to chat with a youngster soon proves as scanty as his clothing. Soon after, she tests pregnant, probably of hunky Misja. Chatting about a missing document with ex Peter, Sophie discovers accidentally that Teun is a colleague of his.
- Sophie exhausts everyone's patience, even Christo's (already down after a painful sex game), with incessant wining about pregnancy and indecisiveness about Teun, whom everyone recommends she should simply go after. Her mother's attempted family reconciliation with the relative who 'stole her husband' years ago goes even worse then his attempt to date online.
- Christo and the other all loose interest in indecisive fickle Sophie's wining about the elusive Teun. When Bea finds it's the brother of a regular, Sophie bores them with excuses not to go after him. Even her parents learned to generally ignore her constant protests and demands.
- Christo tries to soldier on, depressed now his lover Manuel has returned to the Philippines, and Sophie's brother Max proves a terribly selfish lover. Yet she exacerbates everyone by wining and bitching instead of making up her mind about Teun and her baby's father Misja. Her embarrassingly unembarrassed mother has got hold of ex Peter's nude pictures.
- Fashion World magazine is on the brink of bankruptcy. It's being taken over, so old-fashioned editor Jane cedes her office to utter bitch Rebecca, who doesn't even respect Flemish investor Matthias Janssens, but grants him a single favor: hiring as menial 'assistant's assistant' naive would be-staffer Ellis Beers, a naive country girl.
- Everybody soon realizes new editor Rebecca is installing a reign of terror, refusing to take notice of anyone, even the board, so celebrity Sylvana Simons, whom they asked for the cover, is rejected. Unshakable gay confident Berlul takes Ellis, who drown from the start, under his wing. Devoid of qualifications but overtly equally desperate and resourceful, Oscar, physically to the tyrant's taste, is hired as new 'copy boy' after the incumbent is flippantly fired.
- Editor Rebecca installs her reign of terror among staff, including firing a pregnant staffer and a cocky receptionist. Trusted deputy Mike Waque is only scolded for his absconding to flirt with a sexy delivery boy after he taunt her own clumsy flirtation on the job, against company policy, with copy boy Oscar. PA Ellis proves her willingness to sacrifice her private life for the job when exclusive prop shoes for a lame photo shoot are very hard to get on set in time.
- Gay and female staff savors one of their fashion jobs' greatest perks: watching an underwear models casting. However willingly magnificent men showoff superbly-sculpted six-packs, the designer rejects all for lacking 'natural ease'. Ellis panics when her boyfriend Michel bursts in, but the casting team eagerly strips him down to his boxers and offers him a contract, which he would turn down for her but accepts when she explains that's a great opportunity for her pristine career.
- The magazine prepares a gala for its name change from fashion World to fashion Planet. 'Guest of honor' is former editor Jane Gargiulo, not grateful but vindictive, now in charge of a modeling agency. Editor Rebecca is even more troubled by her flawed flirting, the Belgian investors family and, worst, family troubles: her parents' medical misery and her useless kid sister Nathalie-Jane wriggling in as utterly incompetent, meddling 'deputy editor', whom real deputy Mike however handles ruthlessly.
- It's Amsertdam fashion week, but Rebecca keeps turning down every suggestion for the next issue. It looks like Diego's photo-shoot was a complete waste, until Ellis's idea for funky page editing works out. However that turns her established colleagues into virtual hatred, and instead of crediting her, Rebecca openly looks down upon the intern 'which you could also sit upon' in a meeting, so she has a breakdown and decides to resign and return home to her simpleton Brabant country family.
- Mike can't hide his infatuation for courier Igor, but refuses to admit so, even when caught by proud gay assistant London copying the hottie's pictures. Rebecca rejects the photographer's entire shoot concept and uses the modern editing executed by Oscar after Ellis's ideas, yet refuses to credit the intern and even calls her furniture. So the disheartened country girl resigns and returns home to her patronizing yokel family in rural Northern Brabant. Resuming dull life there isn't easy, and her father warns against giving up on dreams, either career or local suitor Rick, whom she admits having treated horribly without excuse. Rebecca's sister Nathalie-Jane remains mother's favorite and pleases Matthias, but makes an utter spectacle of herself attempting to step us as deputy editor.
- When Igor calls on Mike unexpectedly, he finds the elder serial lover in bed with another gay one-night-stand and simply leaves. Mike manages, unlike her family, to convince Ellis not to give up her dream and return to fashion, but is still cruelly ignored as far too devoted boyfriend, dumped without reason. Rebecca only takes her back by exhaustion due to her lush mother and airhead sister, who is allowed supervising a hairstyle photo-shoot.
- Things get more hectic then ever at the fashion magazine HQ as the grand gala approaches when it officially changes its name, celebrating the 'first edition' with a celebrity awards event. Rebecca however is more interested in her father's unexpected sudden recovery of speech and curtailing her mother's wine abuse, while Ellis is stunned to find her father once was their family driver. So Nathalie Jane is supposed to step in, a sure recipe for additional flaws.
